that is why to grasp aspects now, you need to have a passion or enjoyment of either "contributing" (telling info) OR intuiting.

In my case, I just love astrology and want to learn it. Also I'd like to be of service if I can. But there is a struggle for me to do readings, because:

a) In my own opinion, I'm not qualified. I never trained for this and don't want to influence any major life decisions.

b) I'm not sure if people want to hear my opinion or not.

c) Sometimes people don't even reply, causing me to worry it was a case of (b), they didn't want to hear my take; they were hoping for someone else or something else.

There is some emotional difficulty and risk.

well i often believe in myself, i dont say it but i assume others should know i am just making it up

like right now i want to explain: for mars square venus: the indomadable power aggressive confronting side of you is not working with the harmonious side of you, therefore they dont have really a strong association with each other; sometimes you can be really adomidable and powerful without any harmony behind you, without harmony seeming unlikeably and abbrasive (rough, annoying), and other times you can be soft and beautiful getting along good, but have no power or assertion.

though that is also an old-school style of interpretation, "one or the other" which fits the pisces age. currently i think we retain about the same level of mars-venus always, so cant ever have less, cant ever have more. updating understanding always!

anyway just have confidence i'd say. i think all contributions are more helpful than none

actually maybe we can be more venusian at times. i notice, since i have mars sq venus, when i talk to someone i can be really pleasing, almost submissive, soft. but half the other time i am brooding and hateful, with aggressive thoughts that i keep to myself. now that i think about it, it must be that my mars isnt aspected enough to get those feelings out, to argue, to conflict. since there is not enough aspects, it doesnt have the strength or support to act. but my venus has enough. maybe you can be more venusian.

Maybe the age we're living in does have something to do with. And maybe it doesn't. I wouldn't know. But I generally get along with older generations than my own - they seem to share my values more than people my age do.

We millenials really are an entitled bunch. Drives me bonkers sometimes. But that's a rant for another day.

Oh yeah. This.
I don't contribute as much, so I can't make a blanket comment. But for the times when I do, yes it takes time & concentration and feels bad when it just sits there gathering dust.

Me?

I don't have Mars square Venus.

Venus is my only unafflicted planet.

just showing a simple way that many astrlogers use to interpret. what is a square? okay so we know how square is. conflict or one or the other can only operate. or they dont work well, so you cant be aggressive and harmonious together. so basically you can interpret any chart.

but as long as you can figure out what a square is, how the energy operates, you can apply it to any planets in question. or opposition. i dont know how a square operates either. but if you do know, any planets in square are following the laws of what a square does.

I try and consider the charts, the lives, on a holistic level. Charts have themes. The squares add a certain quality and texture to the theme. Tight squares can be more binding than loose trines and vice versa, in my eyes...depending on context.

But as I said, I don't really know what I'm doing.

Which is why it's so important to see where degrees are matching up exactly. There is safety in numbers.

One thing that really irks me is when someone opens a whole topic in Astrology 2.0 just to have a discussion with one certain person and they give it titles like @whateveruser. When I see that I'm always like you two should have each other's email addresses or something and do it there. What's the point of posting on a forum if you only want to hear one person's opinion?!

Personal Readings was actually only created, because people were complaining due to Astrology 2.0 being cluttered with chart interpretation requests. It actually grew into reading exchanges on its own. Those willing to help out with charts could go to Personal Readings and practice on those. That would solve the lack of response. There aren't enough of them to warrant a separate Forum, although if a lot of such requests filled a new Forum, I think there would probably be a lot of unanswered threads on it (just my guess). But I'd be open to the idea. Edited to add: I started a thread here just for charts.

^Yeah.

Maybe it shouldn't be posting of charts all at once, but posting with some provisos.

Like maybe - rule #1 : you can't post the next chart until the one before has had at least one response (and/or feedback?). Like syn-ack-syn (networking ).

Now there's four (five?) charts there - even if someone does want to interpret, where do they begin? If they just pick the person they know or, some arbitrary choosing - the others will again feel left out.

ETA: Faith, why'd you erase? It was a very valid point. Now instead of a forum getting flooded, it's a thread being flooded. That's the only difference.

I think the thread itself is a good idea, but (as mentioned above), we might need some guidelines.

#2 Another incentive : We could have a points system. Like rewards for people who do post interpretations (or attempt them at least). Someone (I could volunteer for this) can keep a tally of those points and we'll have a member of the month each month. That could be a thread by itself too.

#3. To fix the problem in the current thread, we can either --
.....a.) Start over and ask to remove all charts except the first (with the new guideline #1 in place).
Or
.....b.) Draw up a list of charts posted and ask people to wait until that queue has been cleared of backlogs.

(Sheesh, I'm in project planning mode).

Mila, please check your thread in Personal Readings.

Please if anyone asks for a reading, remember to check back on your thread.

It's ironic if the people who complain about being ignored are the ones ignoring their own threads.

Yes, I know that. I wanted to reply here first because I wanted to take my time to read and write.
I'm sorry if I made you think I don't appreciate the things others do for me. I'm not like that at all .

I didn't say you don't appreciate things people do for you.

You ignored your thread, and I pointed it out.

People *often* leave charts and never return to the thread.

Pet peeve of mine....

I've always reply everyone when I posted something. And they usually never return. But I even spent like two hours just reading and writing everyone who helped me n some post.
Lately, I've been "offline". With no energy at all. Sad all the time. I can't get over my mom's death, so that's the reason why I'm not all the time writing to people but I don't ignore, I'm just not ok and I reply when I'm feeling better. So I'm sorry for that.
