Yes. They have this feature on the imdb.com message boards and on other forums. It's a great way to not see any annoying posts by trolls or anyone who posts something you find offensive. It's hard to argue with someone if you can't even see their posts. Other forums also have the option of reporting a specific post so that way the moderator can see the post for themselves and decide whether the offensive post should be deleted or if it's serious enough, whether to ban the user altogether.

Well, I dunno..

Anyhoo, updating..

Oh, no, you're right:

Only problem is that I'm not sure I have the time to moderate Astro 2.0. as efficiently as it needs, it is REALLY busy. I didn't even see anything had happened until today, when it was all over. Aside from that, my astrological knowledge isn't substantial enough for that forum.

I am happy to check into Astro 2.0. though, and while I can't lock any threads, I can try and help when any issues arise.

That is NOT what I was saying.
Please don't quote me or paraphrase me if you don't understand what I'm saying.

If you want to perhaps consider the PoV, then once again, I request you to read what I wrote.

You do not decide what I mean, *I* know what I mean. If you don't get it - it's fine, to each his own. But if you don't get it and continue to forcibly impose your interpretation on me, that's not okay. You do not speak for me.

That been said I feel is crucial that whoever is chosen to mod Astrology 2.0 is an extremely unbiased individual bc 99% of the people that are been suggested here are usually part of the problem too in keeping drama alive and are not unbiased but they cannot see it nor the people who think like them politically can see that they are part of the problem and hence why they suggest them. It does take two people to fight and start drama and is never a one sided issue but most people in here fail to see this or to own their part in the problem.

Could not agree more. The polarization on this forum is a reflection of the polarization of our society as a whole.

I do agree that those who have participated more than once in going back and forth in this neverending drama should be automatically disqualified from moderating.

I don't believe having an ignore button would solve the issue as people seem eager to feast on the statements of those they claim offend them.

I second the idea of having those who are interested in moderating filling out a form and let Randall make a decision.

This has been a great forum. I hope it remains great in the years to come.

If it wasn't complicated we would not keep having the issues that we are having. Politics is dominating people's perception of who is been bullied or what is fair. So you may feel that someone is been bullied and is crystal clear to you but Faith and Leeloo to name a few see it completely different through totally different lenses.

I agree that people should be able to express their opinions without been bullied but I would go further and say without been shamed or demonized for thinking differently.

I agree, but that also goes for you - if you think that bullying is going on, you could report it to Randall, and not inflame things further. Instead, you made a choice to attack someone, and to start a thread doing the same.

Again, goes for you, too. And I remember hypatia making some inflammatory responses to others. Few of us are totally innocent when it comes to things like that.

I need to get out of here. I'll think about it, and maybe nominate a few people privately to Randall, through the contact form.

Thank you.

And what was the reason to not interfere when one or more of the users here were attacked like this, which is against the rules of the forum, the ones you know better as moderator?

And lastly, as a human being and as per your profession, why did you not speak against such violence?

Updating...

So far, we have the following suggestions, with responses in brackets -
Feel free to add/edit this list as you see fit. I've pre-filtered the "No"s.

# Electro (Maybe)
# soren (not sure what the response was)
# Pixie Jane (hasn't weighed in yet)
# Aries23Degrees (hasn't been on this thread yet)
# Voix (Maybe)
# Belage (Hasn't seen the nomination yet. )

I'll throw in my suggestion of picking two mods - one who can check in from time to time and one for more frequent moderation here.

not sure if anyone has watched spirited away but the girls parents get stolen. she eventually overcomes many obstacles and the witch has presented a pack of hogs and tells the girl to pick which one are her parents. if the girl's soul is true she would know.

just like here; people dont know it but energy is sensed. most are from NA and sensed VIC's intention. it was kind of funny to be honest, and someone on the other side of the planet (the one getting crazy) likely did not sense his intentions in the slightest. but you can judge the pigs by what they are. but the true girl knew if any of them were the parents. because not everything is done by appearance. in fact this is a world of much soul

the girl saw her parents morph to pigs at the start and then when confronted with the group of boars; she knew none of them were her parents.

It works beautifully on other forums. Why wouldn't it work here? Lindaland isn't any different than other forums on the Internet. If someone posts something offensive, then report them to a moderator if you wish and put them on ignore. You can always change your mind later and "unblock" them. It cuts down on the drama significantly.

As of now, if there is a user who you dislike you can only avoid threads started by them, but you have no way of knowing whether they have posted in someone else's thread, so people end up having to see posts by an offensive user.

I vote against Belage. As a friend of Ami's and against all common sense, she undermined the rule of accuracy (famous data charts) and she opposed the criticism against labeling certain asteroids malefic and creating prejudice. I don't think Belage wants a peaceful forum here, since she dares to take the side against those who were hurt and is for breaking rules and apparently is not for accurate, positive astrology.

Can someone please keep the list alive?
Hopefully we reach some consensus.

Also, I strongly recommend *two* mods being selected. (High availability & sparse availability)
