There was a knight who longed to wield A more impressive lance To carry into battle And to aid him in romance.Hey, there! Ho, there! A lesson's here for you: Be careful what you wish for, For your wishes might come true. A wizard overheard the knight And granted his request The knight at first was overjoyed To see how he was blessed. The knight went to a party With his weapon thus enhanced. The lance made dining difficult And tripped him when he danced. The next day at the tournament, He won the jousting meets, For all who faced his fearsome lance Fell laughing from their seats. Hey, there! Ho, there! A lesson's here for you: Be careful what you wish for, For your wishes might come true. --as sung in Elfsong by Elaine Cunningham
Hmmm, while I'm at it: They're far from staid after a raid Those men of Zhentil Keep: They kill off all the women For they much prefer the sheep.
The Zhents don't eat their ill-got treat; Not one of them's a glutton. So isn't it a marvel That they always smell of mutton? --The Ballad of the Zhentish Raiders, by Danilo Thann of Waterdeep (as shared by Elaine Cunningham in Elfshadow). IP: Logged |

I liked your second post, Melody, but I disagree with the argument that a vegan diet would demand more of your time and energy. Not only are raw fruits and veggies cheaper than your ordinary fare, but, the increased energy, health, and clarity of mind you'll experience from this diet can be used to help raise your daughter, enlighten adolescents, or whatever else you want to do with your life. You seem to think I'm asking you to do something more, but, really, I'm asking you to do less. Less cooking, less cleaning up, less digesting,... And the benefits, to you, to the environment, and to animals are astonishing. All you really need is a little faith. It begins in the heart, and extends to the hands. Mine haven't touched meat for several months, or chicken and fish for over 3 weeks now. I'd say that's something. I'd say it for the world to hear. 13 Reasons To Go Raw
1. You wont contribute to the torture and slaughter of animals 2. You won't be burdened with karmic debts from hurting animals 3. You'll communicate more powerfully with the animal realm, and receive animal wisdom more easily, now that you no longer encourage karmic divisions between yourself and animals 4. You'll become healthier (in mind, body, and soul) than you ever aspired to be, and live longer than you ever expected to live 5. Since fruits and vegetables in their pristine state come w/o packaging, you'll find that you use less resources and produce very little trash on this diet 6. You won't waste gas or electricity in cooking 7. 90% of the world cooks with wood, decimating the rainforests -- if you are among this 90%, you won't be contributing to deforestation, and if you are among the 10% you'll be discouraging the other 90% 8. Since 85% of all nutrients are destroyed by cooking, that means 85% of the labor expended on producing the food is also wasted; you won't be contributing to this incredible waste 9. You will use very little water cleaning up 10. You'll save time (not cooking, and requiring less sleep) 11. You won't get Cancer 12. You'll have the energy to pursue a high destiny 13. You'll feel more intuitive and aligned with synchronicity

Well, I'm sure you would know, after the dozens and dozens of hours you've spent researching this. But my own extensive research suggests that Cancer is caused by an excess of mucous which cannot collect in an alkalized body. Raw, non-hybridized plant foods ensure an alkaline environment. Cancer isnt a mystery that just happens. It builds up over time in a body that is consistently mistreated: fed cooked foods and animal products, which promote an acidic environment in the body. If you are eating healthy (i.e. raw, non-hybridized plant foods), you cannot even begin to create the conditions wherein Cancer can develop. A healthy body cannot get sick. But if you know of more convincing research, go with it.

"You are now at a crossroads. This is your opportunity to make the most important decision you will ever make. Forget your past. Who are you Now? Who have you decided you really are Now? Don't think about who you have been. Who are you Now? Who have you decided to Become? Make this decision Consciously. Make it Carefully. Make it Powerfully." ~ Anthony Robbins "It's not so much that we're afraid of change or so in love with the old ways, but it's that place in between that we fear . . . . It's like being between trapezes. It's Linus when his blanket is in the dryer. There's nothing to hold on to." ~ Marilyn Ferguson

How long has that taken? The few weeks that you have actually been a vegan? Oh, I do apologise, I take it back. Perhaps you'd better email the Cancer Research people here in Britain. They'd be chuffed to know you've found a cure. "If you eat raw foods you won't get cancer" Bollocks. IP: Logged |

T, I miss you. Call me when you can. Steve, I know you are right, but if it was that easy I would already be a sprout eating svelte kitten. If I could kick my processed foods addiction that easily, I would have stuck to the carrot sticks and salad long ago, luv. You have planted a seed and with time it should grow... something. k? I hit the ground running, didn't I? Actually, I've been studying this stuff for a long time, though I've only recently been putting it into action. quote: Perhaps you'd better email the Cancer Research people here in Britain. They'd be chuffed to know you've found a cure.
They don't want to find a cure. There's billions to be made in treating the symptoms. And the people who are sincere are too caught up in the hype. You have to have a very open and independent mind to even consider the evidence for this. Melody,

The overwhelming evidence of the healing power of food http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJkCiYnuVw0
Think there's not enough research on food and nutrients? Think again! In this week's UltraWellness Blog, Dr. Mark Hyman details the latest studies on the healing power of food -- and explains why you shouldn't always believe everything you read when it comes to medical research. For more, see http://www.ultrawellness.com/blog _________________________________________
"According to Western medical research, diseases are a result of the host being infected with a "germ", "virus" or "bacteria". And, in their approach in treating these "infestations", inorganic, carcinogenic chemicals are employed. But by consistently utilizing the same premise and methods, they have consistently yeilded ineffective results... In contrast, our research refutes the germ/virus/bacteria premise. The USHA Research Institute reveals that all manifestation of disease finds its genesis when and where the mucuous membrane has been compromised. For example, if there is excess mucous in the bronchial tubes, the disease is Bronchitis; if it is in the lungs, the disease is Pneumonia; in the pancreatic duct, it is Diabetes; in the joints, Arthritis." ~ Dr. Sebi "Any special symptom is therefore merely an extraordinary local constipation by more accumulated mucus at this particular place... The average person has as much as ten pounds of un-eliminated feces in the bowels continually, poisoning the blood stream and the entire system... My "Mucus Theory" and "Mucusless Diet Healing System" stand unshaken; it has proven the most successful so-called cure against every kind of disease. By its systematic application thousands of declared-incurable patients could be saved." ~ Dr. Arnold Ehret "The first step in maintaining health is to alkalize the body." - Dr Aurthur C. Guyton "Bottom line: This program will bring you increased quality and quantity of life. I guarantee you'll see immediate improvement. Your energy will increase, you'll find new mental clarity and powers of concentration, you'll build strength and stamina, and you'll lose excess body fat, while increasing muscle mass. You'll have bright eyes and clear skin. You'll look better. You'll improve your athletic performance. You entire body will function more efficiently. Whatever health challenges you've been facing will improve and most likely evaporate altogether. In short, You'll regain all the effortless energy and wellness you thought was lost in your childhood." ~ Robert O. Young, Ph.D., The pH Miracle "To become malignant, Cancer must have a low oxygen, strong acid environment." ~ Dr Otto Warburg "It can be said that the greatest single cause of degeneration in man is the use of fire in the preparation of foods." ~ Arnold De Vries, The Fountain of Youth "Our food should be our medicine, our medicine should be our food." ~ Hippocrates, "The Father of Medicine"

And apparently none of us who have been researching and living this for more than 3 weeks possess said open mind..... Valus is right -- there have been a lot of cancer cures effected by a raw foods treatment. But the Scorpionic proclivity for black and white in all things is quite apparent here Environmental issues play their part too -- no matter what you eat, if you live next to Chernobyl (or a place where they burn dirty coal for heating), you'll get some kind of cancer No matter how organic your veggies are, if the soil they grow in is contaminated, or they're subject to acid rain, etc etc, you're going to have issues.IP: Logged |

There are over 200 different types of cancer and a lot of unanswered questions. A few hours of thumb-twiddling time and access to publically available secondary research on Google is unlikely to solve them all. How is my tact? Call 0800 123 456 IP: Logged |

That's right, take your shots. I'm being very rational and considerate, and you're getting very personal. I thought you were better than that. Try to be kinder, okay you guys? Today is a new day.I added to my response above: quote: Actually, I've been studying this stuff for a long time, though I've only recently been putting it into action.
And that's the truth, if you're interested. Chernobyl aside, this is pretty foolproof. Let's try to sidestep the astrostereotyping, 'Zala. My Scorpio tendency for seeing black and white is probably mitigated quite a bit by that Venus which closely conjuncts my Sun, Uranus, and Midheaven. If I did post older findings on primates, wheels, you are welcome to post some more recent ones, if you think they'll contradict my posts. And I encourage you to be cautious, not just when considering what I say. There's a lot you hear in the mainstream that deserves a critical eye, as well.

Do your research for you? And your last slave died of....? Point being, if you're posting this stuff about how man never was a carnivore until fires and axes were invented to support your view of how everyone here should be a vegan because YOU SAY SO, you should at the very least get your facts straight. It's sorta important no? IP: Logged |
