I didn't wanna say anything but you seem pretty fool-ish to me.

You didn't want to, but that little guy in the red suit that sits on your shoulder made you do it. Damn him.

Oh, he and I are well acquainted. I understand.

I knew that little red-suited rat was being unfaithful to me! I'll have his little red trident confiscated for whispering into your ear too!

* fatinkerbell quickly googles montgomery burns *
Aaah yes, ... and the hounds, well let's considering this a warning to you-know-who ...
Anyway, you've given me the perfect idea PA ... I've been extremely upset ever since discovering my north node is in capricorn. So I've been struggling for a role-model to help shape my new and improved personality. Montgomery Burns shall do very well indeed : ] ... hee hee hee

I can understand that. If I had Capi NN I'd look in that direction of inspiration. I have Pisces NN so I'm aiming at Reverend Lovejoy.

This has got me thinking ... what would be the sunsigns for the Simpsons? My suggestions: Bart is Gemini because he talks so much and has this really bad side plus a really good side ... Lisa is a Sag because she's always philosophical ... Homer is ... uhm ... I give up. Other suggestions? Anybody? Anybody?

'You channel Monty a little too well bell' ... that's because being a schoolteacher has done wonders for my sadistic side : )

... imagine a classroom full of Bart Simpson wannabe's ... I try to resist the pull of the dark side, but I confess this morning I was threatening them with a broom ... I don't believe in violence so I just said: "If you don't write down the words I'm gonna touch your face with this dirty broom". Totally absurd but it worked. The students just need an excuse to cooperate so they don't look lame in front of their friends ... : D
Anyway, I'm up way past my bedtime so g'night (it's only 8pm but I'm extremely lazy)...

Can't remember who mentioned Yeats the other day, it was someone on here I'm sure. As I was just reading this in a work break, I thought I'd share it. Moaning about the weather does slip into the odd Godzalan conversation and on the streets of England it is right up there for chat topics.

quote:

The Wheel

Through winter-time we call on spring,
And through the spring on summer call,
And when abounding hedges ring
Declare that winter's best of all;
And after that there's nothing good
Because the spring-time has not come ---
Nor know that what disturbs our blood
Is but our longing for the tomb.

Damp. Cold and damp as only November can be, but soon it will be December with proper crisp winters days. Then I will complain about wanting Spring to come quick.

This piece you linked to, this is quite a read. His self-analysis at the beginning where he says his Moon/Mars is his worst fault and how he wanted to hit the irritating woman - then also this part:-

quote:
Recent writers have emphasised the element of focus and suggested that the least-aspected planet is in fact the key to the horoscope, representing the soul’s focus, particularly with reference to location (those interested in astrology should see Robert Couteau, The Role of the Least-Aspected Planet, and his examination of Yeats’s Mercury and Neptune). Certainly in Yeats’s case, it seems easier to make a case for the central role of his intellectual engagement with Irish nationhood, folklore, and with imaginative and occult interests, than to state that his mental energies were not expressed. In this theory the most-aspected planet is a source of confusion, lack of focus and habitual response, which in Yeats’s chart is the Moon, already emphasised by its position in the First House and intrinsically associated with habit and the rhythms of life.

I'd like to see more astrologers tackling that issue of least aspected planet. I like what I've read from Robert Couteau, but I want to have more confirmation.

Yeah, baby!!!

I got two assignments back. 96% and 100%. Aries is on fire.

I moved seats a couple of days ago. The man I now sit next to said to me today that I should get back into the kitchen and do what women are supposed to do. Joking, of course. I said to him that he's just sore because one of the girls is keeping up with the boys. And kicking butt.

The Spice Girls used to go on about girl power. Just call me Intel Spice.

Q. I've seen cartloads and cartloads of urls on the internet by a Robert Couteau, appearing to give weight to the value of astrocartography maps. He seems to have an interesting theory that successful people gravitate to where their "least-aspected" planet is angular, where it shows as an astrocartography type line. He gives quite a few examples.
a.Yes, I have looked at it. Unfortunately there are a lot of problems with that material.

Q. Such as?
a. First of all, some of his technical statements are literally untrue. Some of the planets he calls "least-aspected" are not least-aspected at all.

Q. Can you give an actual example?
a.Well, a good example is his prominent use of Pablo Picasso. Couteau says Picasso's Sun is a "least-aspected planet." However, using the traditional "major aspects," Uranus is actually Picasso's least-aspected planet. As for Picasso's Sun, it possesses a very tight sextile from Mars, for crying out loud. Some astrologers would also say Picasso's Sun is conjunct Pluto. And by the way, the traits of Mars-Sextile-Sun, and Sun-Conjunct-Pluto, are obvious in the life and personality of Picasso. His boldness, masculinity, and originality. His powerful creative drive his sex drive, etc.

Q. So therefore we should avoid taking what Couteau says at face value...
a. Well, definitely. Astrologers love elegant-sounding theories. But astrologers should definitely check things out before jumping on a "least-aspected" bandwagon. You spin an intriguing theory, then wishful thinking takes over. You can tweak "orb" parameters on a computer program and get all kinds of strange lists. You miss things that are obvious to the human eye.

An even greater problem with the Couteau stuff -- and this runs all through it -- is his assumption about what constitutes an aspect in the first place. It's very clear he has excluded the Quincunx and the Dodecile aspects, following the conventional astrology line that these are "minor aspects."

http://www.locational-astrologer.com/interCouteau.html

He was doing so well until he started getting fanatical about the Quincunx and Dodecile. He goes on to give other examples.

I agree. Those aren't major aspects, and it seems kind of foolish to insist that they be taken into consideration on something like this.

Astrology needs to recruit more economists/statisticians to do proper research.

From my reckoning the Sun is my least aspected planet. How I draw up a map I don't know, I expect to be told to move to Siberia.

Peace Angel. As an unevolved non-thinker you did it all on impulse, as a self-promoting attention-seeking exercise. Still, well done.

Reasonable, finished off a big project, kicking my heels until the next one comes along.

The cat has to have some teeth taken out.

Suppose I'd better do some work soon.
