not sure if this is the right part of the forum to post this.

but anyway, i have spoken to different members, and i hear various forms of dislikes about how 'things' are on LL.

so i figure, why don't we have a topic to express those dislikes?

maybe this is a bad idea, if it is, lock it. I don't give a sh*t.

hmmm, i do not really have all that much to moan about with how things are on the forum, if anything, i see it like this - (i'll probably think of more as i write/type this)

if you don't like topics, Don't browse them, ignore.

if you have a better idea of what a good topic is, or what ever, SET BY EXAMPLE? don't bash down anthers thread, it kinda just looks like your out to get attention on your own opinion maybe.

in my experience, i have found it a little annoying when -

a member comes into a topic, and doesn't contribute anything to the topic that is either On topic, or even Astrological (when the topic is intended to be astrological.

its annoying when a member deliberately posts something so irrelevant and derailing of the topic, or Just simply unhelpful to the topic. ( and im talking about the FIRST post they make into the topic, not disusing into something during the topic)

and i also find it annoying when people miss the point of the topic, and take off with it in the wrong direction! maybe in my experiences, i needed to spell it out better, but i don't know, i don't like having to do that. i usually hope people will actually read topic properly, and reply accordingly!

Favoritism, it sucks.

im not sure if i can remember the rest, anyway, have a go 'Knowflakes' lol

i probably ain't lived up to all this criticism my self, oh well, at least i Recognize it.

can we discuss this subject like adults without getting personal and 'getting' at each other?

of course, it must be to do with members.

although, im gonna kindly disagree that LL is 'perfect' :P

imo, the way its all Pink kind of 'suggests' some indirect relation to 'Girls'

and like, astrology is a 'girls' thing. (DO NOT START ON ME< I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS> its just looked at that way over on my Land ok?)

why not a more neutral color?

although, what im pointing out could be considered irrelevant, since you have to begin with the belief that 'pink' is a 'girls' color. so the point is perhaps a little flawed.

but im sure some of you know what i mean!

Well, for one thing it is difficult to ignore topics that are IN YOUR FACE (the use of caps is not random here).

There was a whole thread about LL being pink. Let me see if I can find it.

Found it!

Adverts can be in our face, but we can quickly decide if we are interested in reading them and finding out what it is about?

i figure the same kind of thing applies to topics, no one is forcing you to read them.

although i do agree that perhaps it would be a bit too much if all you can see is a forum filled with Topics you don't want to see.

but then it comes back to what i thought - create your own topics! set by example.

if topics are becoming really Mindless and they are filling up the entire forum, it probably is some form of spam.

maybe?

p.s.

in reference to that topic, LMAO, i once browsed this site at college i saw my teacher coming round and i quickly 'hid it' by hitting the minimize button, my teacher saw the pink colors briefly and actually laughed at me and asked if i was browsing Porn. hahaha

Why does Pink get discriminated so frequently in society? It's only one colour in a specturm of a zillion colours.

In fact, it looks a bit like mauve in this dark room.

I love men in pink shirts. They look hot!

I wear a pink shirt to work sometimes. It makes me feel light and breezy.

This is going to sound childish but I wish LL had avatars X_X, I miss seeing and looking at avatars on other forums.

I miss seeing my cheshire cat avatar that says "Im mad, your mad, were all mad here"..it defines how I feel about myself, other people and just the world in general lol.

Yeah..I don't like the pink..make it blue and white pretty please..=)

I'd love to have Avatars too.

another astrology forum had:

Avatars,
'Signatures'

a chat room

and generally the forum looked a bit neater.

how ever, it had Nothing on LL in terms of the community, LL isn't perfect, but i prefer this community over the other one i was on.

none of that is vital, but yeh, would be cool.

I have to agree, LL has it's numerous spats and what not but it is lot more calmer and milder than the last forum I was on.

Atleast here people address the problem and try to nip it in the butt, even if the problem is themselves.

Maybe it's the moderating on LL that makes it so calm, unlike the the other forum which had none..

..Actually LL doesn't really moderate lol..come to think about it..unless an arguement becomes out of hand

Well if I'm not mistaken colors are very important, or were very important to Linda Goodman ... I believe she spoke about it in Star Signs ... Anyway, the point is, I think that color isn't random and decorative, it's like really actually significant ... and if I'm not mistaken pink is a rather angelic color ... ?

Petty playground spats are a hazard of online communication not LL specific. It is distruptive, annoying and sometimes upsetting.

On LL the constant soul mate stuff bothers me, for a not obvious reason. It strikes me that many posters have lost the ability to trust their instincts and they seek out astrology as guidance that borders on a crutch.

This ties in with the few occasions where I have bother to go on Soul Unions, and I have wondered why women put up with such shoddy behaviour.

The sexual obsession in astrology is also a little annoying, maybe this is my age. But I long to say sometimes, please show me where on that chart you have an indication you have anything in common or that this relationship will last above 6 months. Also, some of the aspects get such a linear interpretation. "Now imagine you share that with your granny", I keep repeating. But the message doesn't always get through.

I have to go to work soon, I could go on. And on. And on.

I hear it bm. The constant soulmate synastry talk. Be happy with an Earth mate, I say. But your granny synastry says it all.

Spats are expected with varying beliefs, perceptions and ideals. Misunderstandings are common too. You don't have the face-to-face opportunity or the tone of voice to convey the messages and smileys are frequently used with insincerity.

I've seen far worse. YouTube is a shocker.

Cheshire Kat,

"..Actually LL doesn't really moderate lol..come to think about it..unless an arguement becomes out of hand"

i agree.

PeaceAngel,

<3

speak your mind about LL, this is the topic to do it!

blue moon,

i appreciate your post, so far its actually been the most on-topic contributing one to the point :P,

"The sexual obsession in astrology is also a little annoying, maybe this is my age. But I long to say sometimes, please show me where on that chart you have an indication you have anything in common or that this relationship will last above 6 months. Also, some of the aspects get such a linear interpretation. "Now imagine you share that with your granny", I keep repeating. But the message doesn't always get through. "

this is quite true, and i like the perspective you have reminded us of about astrology in relationships.

i'm quite tempted to create a topic about this in Astrology 2.0 ,

but, maybe this fall's under your dislike for what you might consider topics that seek Guidance. although, in regards to Astrology in general, that is how i learn! lol

but yeh, tempted.. think i should create a topic about what in synastry or any appropriate chart, suggests a long term love/association/marriage. ?

* thanks for replies all! *

What i can't understand, is why one should moan about how LL is (if its about discussions), as opposed to how it 'used to be'. when if they want it a certain way, they should just set by example.

and if your 'example' isn't followed well, or just simply not as popular, that's just Tough, deal with it - create your own forum if its so far off what you want it to be, and you can Admin it yourself.

but you could just take the easier route and ignore it, and have more self discipline - control what you read and enjoy, why make yourself read something you dislike so much? do you watch tv shows you hate? i doubt it, but they are still on tv? but you avoid them, right?

if anyone has a say about what the 'right' direction is of the forum, its the Admins. and if it was seriously so 'bad' around here, something would be done, right?

there is nothing wrong with disliking the direction of topics or discussion, but it is certainly annoying and pointless to moan about it. i mean.. it doesn't stop YOU from creating the topics in which you feel are better or appropriate.

just ignore what you deem as worse compared to your own discussions/topics/posts and continue enjoying the forum the way you want to use it, why let how others are enjoying it or using it, ruin yours? i can't see how it should. unless its an Obvious problem that the admins/mod's need to handle, it shouldn't make you lose sleep!

some people might read my post right now, and think "well hold on a minute, isn't this a contradiction with the topic you have just created?" well no, because in general, i do not '***** ' about what i don't like or raise it as a problem with the members i 'have a problem with' i created this topic so people could express how they feel without arguing or getting personal!

and i really Hate when people intentionally or unintentionally come across pretentious because either :

A. they were here longer or since 2000-and-what-eva

B. because they have a high post count. (this is not unusual on forums!!)

C. Age

D. because you're a Moderator. don't get too high on your horse with this one people, its just a badge for a job an Admin CBA to do.

good day,

adios.

Being a Mod here is harder than you may think. It really puts you right into the middle and sometimes, even if you see where someone is coming from, or just straight up like them, you're placed in a position where you have to say something to them, and that is not always appreciated. And it makes it harder to post as "you" as opposed to the "Mod". When I was a Mod I was constantly saying things like, "As a Mod..." or "Speaking for myself, and not as a Mod...", because people who don't like your opinion accuse you of exerting that position, when it may not be the case. That said, vice versa happens too when people do use that position, and do play favourites. It needs a lot of balance. And you have to repeat yourself a lot, most arguments really have the same core to them, no matter what the subject matter = difference of opinion and no-one is wrong or right, etc, etc, etc.

It's not as easy as some people may think. That's what I'm saying.

Can one of the moderators do something about this, please, I find it completely unnecessary.

There you go letram, another example. Astrology as a tool to assassinate someone's character in public.

WTF

I am not a natural diplomat. I work hard at keeping my Celtic blood from getting fired up. Signing off now!
