No one is getting banned again, sans really outrageous behavior, I think.

Well, if you love this place, then by osmosis, I love you. Because Lindaland is my life, my heart, my soul, and my blood.

*I* have the unique perspective of my 21 year old ,beautiful son shooting himself in the head.
I am trying to make sense of my life ,in my flawed way.
For anyone who hates me,I have done nothing mean to anyone , beyond normal squabbles.
You need to examine your OWN heart and what lies within.

My life experience is not better Ami. I don't expect everyone to love me because of it. that is too easy. I am sure you have the compassion of any compassionate soul, and so many knowflakes.

But, if Randall felt like he was very hurt by that comment, and others saw it as offensive, then why defend the action?

That comment was intended to "draw blood" it was not constructive criticism.

I think, for the most part, people were defending the others who were banned, or those who felt shut down/unheard, as Jane was talking about. Most people here have no interest in drawing blood; I thought you were accusing Jane, myself, and others, of just wanting to be able to be openly malicious (but I'm very tired). I've never seen jane advocate rudeness, and, believe it or not, I haven't been looking for a fight when I've posted. (I was PMS'ing the other night, and will admit that "What gives?" was hardly a polite way to ask what happened, but I'm tired of it, and ended up running smack dab into more drama.)

People hate other people,if without a due cause, cuz of their OWN pain was my larger point.
If I am a magnet for dislike,it is the other person's issues, not me, IMHO.
I have done nothing mean to anyone beyond just be myself .
If I am disliked ,it is the other person's problem UNLESS they can point to some way I have hurt them.
If not, they need to examine, THEMSELVES,if they want any quality of life beyond being a basic "hater".
No responses are called for. It is a rhetorical question.

I don't see jealousy, either, but I'm stepping out of this thread; I'm too tired to think, let alone communicate.

I don't HATE you.

I don't like some of your attitudes, but are we all going to lie to each other? do we like every aspects of everyone? no;

do we hate people if we don't like every aspect of their character? no; well not me.

and you? (that is not a rethorical question)

Well, Pire, lets co--exist and appreciate each other or try to.
If not, there is enough room for each of us to bring our own uniqueness to LL.
That is my point.
No one has to tear anyone else apart. If you can't be friends ,just ignore that person.
If you don't like me, don't try to tear me down, just ignore me or anyone else you don't like.
Focus on your own contributions to LL as they are many.

do you see my point?

you say people HATE you (or others)

but I say people don't enjoy/prefer/empathise with some traits of character. and with everyone.

but it's not about hate.

and I bet we can all find people who will like som aspects of ourselves that someone else will not empathise with.

but in my philosophy, it is not because someone don't empathise with some aspects of my character that I Hate them. I might even love them more than some who appreciate some aspects of my character, because I can discern what is ultimately good and true for me.

but that is for me.

Well, I bring my unique perspective ,here,as you do and everyone else does, too
That is the point.
There is a place for EVERYONE.
Everyone has special and different gifts.
People need to unwrap their OWN present rather than try to tear down another person's present.
If that could be accomplished , that would be the closet to Utopia we could get in this lifetime.
That is my point and the way out of this mess, as I see it

Let's be clear. Are you saying that it was wrong to delete/edit people's posts during the time period that followed spanky & belgz's banning? I'm referring to the posts when people were expressing their dissent, their reasons for leaving, and their sadness at seeing members leave.

We need to know what your governing philosophy is. If you reserve the right to delete and edit our posts for *any reason you want*, then we need to know that. What's the criteria? In that criteria, you're structuring this community.

In the Membership Agreement, you reserve the right to delete posts for "any reason." That lack of an explicit criteria makes the criteria implicit.

By calling this place "Linda-Goodman.com", the implicit criteria is that you will rule in her honor. That we can trust you to impose her values *on yourself* as your criteria.

But by deleting people's posts for the reasons mentioned in the first paragraph, you've put yourself outside the Linda Goodman value system. Your actions set the precedent that your deletions need not be in line with the group ideals, but can be done for *any* reason you like.

If that is indeed your criteria, I have no interest in being a member of this community.

I may have missed it, but I've not seen you start a thread apologizing for those deletions. That implies that your recent past actions are things you don't regret and, as such, are actions we can expect to encounter in the future. True?

Jane,

Randall I think had a thread around here with an apology. And, I think he is strictly not deleting threads in the future, because of what happened with named people.

I'll try to find the thread for ya.

PS -

I've already seen that post. He started that thread prior to the deletions I'm referring to. In his post, he apologized for banning w/o a warning. I admire that post of his and respect him for it.

But after that post, he censored people here through deletions/edits. That's what I'm referring to.
