Ami Anne,Randall do note: quote: IQ, I was not being facetious or contentious in my question but asking a sincere question.

quote: Well said & same here
I know you weren't trying to start a fight. I'm thinking about continuing to track a few of them, to see if they match up. I got off-track, and stopped paying attention - I'm not sure if Karma is supposed to be bringing things to me (positive or negative), or if it's indicating where I could deal with certain situations - karma already generated, or a potential to gain good or bad karma in that area. You know? I don't know if it has any effect either. IP: Logged |

No, Juni, it was just a general statement. I mentioned the pebble theory to differentiate and rebut it, but the dissing comment was not directed toward you.IP: Logged |

Some people will not believe in Asteroids just like some will never believe in Astrology. And there's nothing wrong with that. I look at all of Astrology as symbolic and not that the Planets actually cause anything. To me, it makes perfect sense that Asteroids would add more detail to the natal map of the Soul, which to me is what Astrology is. I have become convinced of their validity, and since Linda mentioned that new discoveries become valid once discovered and that she also mentioned Fixed Stars, I feel she would have embraced Asteroids...which is why I added that Forum here.IP: Logged |

I think all the asteroid junk is giving it a bad name and throwing people off....or even leading them to believe in or focus on things that arent really important or that significant. Thoughts? Opinions?
Honestly, I tend to agree with you. Plus, there are SO MANY freaking asteroids out there--MILLIONS. Why count some and not count others? How is that fair? If you count one asteroid, to me, you have to count them all. And if you're going to count asteroids...why not count individual stars, comets, etc.? It has to stop somewhere, really. There are a few other popular things in astrology that I don't believe in/agree with, either. I did start a "where does astrology end for you" thread, on Astrology 2.0.

Personally, I don't think it's wrong, though, even though I don't believe in asteroids, to be interested/not interested in one area of astrology. The nice thing about astrology is that there's something for everyone. IP: Logged |

Points taken, Platero. And that's why Asteroids have their own Forum--so people who embrace them can celebrate them there--and those who don't can choose to partake of the Forums that interest them instead. IP: Logged |

Actually some Comets and Fixed Stars are used. Chiron was once thought to be a Comet.IP: Logged |

As I said before, there are a handful of asteroids I've payed some attention to. Ones that have been regarded as important by astrologers for a long time. I may be changing my opinion on that though. Still thinking about it.IP: Logged |

The cosmic photo of the sky the moment one is born is one's very own book. Some prefer to read it in its entirety...and others choose to get the Cliff's Notes...and both ways are okay.IP: Logged |

One would have to spend eternity trying to read every single little thing about a lifetime in it's entirety....and they probably still wouldnt cover it all.IP: Logged |

Exactly. It's their business. But I view it as detail, not spreading anything thin. Sometimes the Planets alone can lead to very generalized interpretations.IP: Logged |

The thing about the asteroids is that one must find his theme. There seems to be a few themes for each person but once you find them, the person's life opens. The freedom one can find from this is life changing. The people who find their themes may have their lives make sense, for the first time, maybe. It is very, very powerful. To work with asteroids is an sacred honor. To work with any part of Astrology is but Asteroids can go very, very deep with people and lay their lives out bare ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire.
