Pauly's hardcore. Will he regret it when he's an old man and can keep up with it all? That's all I wonder. What will Grampa Pauly do with all those holes and the cheese that grows within them......? ....and how does he make out with chicks well... with all that going on...? Gotta be hard to make-out well. Good for him, for being him, though... Too late now, Pauly! lol IP: Logged |

I love my ear piercing. I wear the coolest earrings that I create myself. But I can always take an earring out. Tats don't appeal to me. Can't think of anything I would want on my body forever. I have friends with eyebrow piercings. Those look cool. I'm just not willing to take the risk of them hitting that nerve and paralyzing one side of my face. It could happen. Nowadays guys can do navals, nipples, nose, and other piercings that used to be for women. I will probably go with a bottom lip ring on the left side (small loop, not stud). It will look good with my hair and earring and gel with the guyliner and black nail polish quite well. As a total overall effect, I think I will be pleased. If I kept a soul patch all the time, a stud in there would look good. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Actually, about the only tat I would consider is the Grim Reaper on my left forearm. I'm talking going all out with the sickle or whatever that thing is called. Maybe with angel wings (angel of death) and a raven on his shoulder. That would be cool. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Eyebrow peircings look great on guys, imo. But if your not willing to risk it, a diamond stud is always cool. You can also purchase a septum ring and just have it sit on your lip, you don't need to actually peirce a hole there. That's what I do, and I love it. They have different sizes. I usually go for the smaller gage to be secure it won't fall off. (even if it is a little uncomfortable) Having the peircing itself may be slightly more uncomfortable, so I think that balances it out. -------------- "Shoot for the moon. Johnny Depp is my exception for like 70-80% of things that I don't like in terms of appearance. That guy can pull off any look, really. He just always manages to look good no matter what. My guess is that he'll age pretty well as he gets older. IP: Logged |

I also don't find him attractive. His face is too soft and pretty. I like the grunge look, but not when the person looks like they don't bathe. IP: Logged |

It's in you, it is you.... ...and will be forever.... then don't bother getting a piercing. You will look foolish and like you are trying too hard to be cool.
It's funny that you're fine with tattoos but are advising people to not get piercings when the FANTASTIC thing about piercings is that you can take them out and no one would notice that you ever had anything there. Even stretched ears shrink after a few years. And as far as stretched ears go, the bigger the better IMO. If you're going to do it, go all the way, don't pussyfoot around lol. I also think eyebrow piercings are passe. They just remind me of dudes who listen to ICP/Slipknot. Ew. I don't think I could ever date a dude with an eyebrow piercing. /unpopular opinion time

Because I see tattoos as form of art. I don't see piercings quite that way. Others might, but I don't. It's jewelry and the big and bold ones can look okay on some people, it's just not my cup of tea. I do like the look of good tattoos, especially on men. Jewelry in any form, not so much. But that's just personal preference.& I wasnt aware that those stretched earlobes shrink after a few years. I don't think the large ones would shrink enough to look normal again.

Also the permanence of tattoos does not scare me. So, yeah piercings can close up and I guess that's a good thing if you ever decided you didnt want to wear it. And usually they do leave marks/scars where they once were. There is also something called laser tattoo removal. IP: Logged |

Piercings are an artistic expression, so they would be art. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

You know....after I posted that...i thought about how people might argue how piecings are art, or artistic..simplly because, they are a form of self-expression. In it's most rudimentary way. But, please PLEASE don't insult hardworking artists everywhere by saying it's art. It's not f'ing art. It's jewelry, it's a way to manipulate your body and use jewelry to expresss a rebellious or immature streak in one's self. There is nothing artistic about it. It's self expressitory and that is it. Anyone can have a hole punched in them. It doesnt take an artist to do that. Please don't put down people who work their GOD DAMN ***** off trying to do what they were put on this earth to do, don't downgrade them PLEASE. - please don't take away from that, by trying to turn a hole in a body into an art form. It is not. It's a hole. That's it. It doesnt take talent or creativity to pierce someone. No matter what anyone wants to say. Please don't confuse holes in the body with art. Or artist who have enough of a hard time making it in the world as it is.
Artists have enought of a hard time as it is. Whether they are dancers, singers, painters or poets. We don't need piercers trying to squeeze their way in when what they do is not artisitc at all. IP: Logged |

Before you try to tell anyone what art is, go to school for it for at least four years. If you can't do that, at least go to your library and study up A LOT and then pick up a paint brush and buy tons of materials and try to do what people who are serious into this business are doing. It's soul sucking, backbreaking, no rewards....but they do it because it's in them. I guarentee you will gain a greater appreciation and understanding of what artists everywhere go through and are struggling to do. The modern world does not appreciate artist in any form any more. We struggle more than any average person realizes. There is no appreciation for these people. Is a cryin' shame too. It's terrible and I plan on doing something about it. In my own community anyway. 'Cause i'm p****** about it. IP: Logged |
