I'm watching! FFf, I was SO scared during Netherlands - Mexico, I was biting my nails for NL to make a countergoal. And from Wesley Sneider no less - my uncle and aunt were b*tching at him all the way through the match, so when he made that goal...

So relieved they made it! They've been doing so well, winning all of their matches so far - what a turnaround from what they were like at the European Championships.

Robben is fantastic, he totally deserves all the credit he gets.

I want a Netherlands - Belgium semi-final!!! Fingers crossed they'll both win! I'm supporting Germany as well - our neighbours for the win. (If NL doesn't of course )

My bae MATS scored!!!

I'm rooting for Germany, its time for them to be the bride and not the bridesmaid the last 8 years.

Edit: nervous for Brazil though, definitely could be upset unless they step it up

Yay Germany! France had some great chances, but needed to push offensively earlier in the game

You know what? I wasn't happy with the refereeing but I take back wanting Colombia to win. Damn they had so many dirty challenges and tackles! To be fair, Brazil wasn't 100% clean either.

David Luiz is always one the highlights- he cracks me up! Awesome that he got the crowd to cheer for James at the end of the match.

Hope Neymar is okay. I give him crap for his theatrics a lot, but that challenge was totally unnecessary. Were Colombia and Brazil playing rugby today? I mean the blatant shoving was ott.

Edit: I still love James. NAGL, he turned me on when he started getting angry on the field.

V Eh, kind of a lame comment to say karma for someone getting injured. Both sides were messy but really?' Technically its 'juju' though, not karma.

After watching Brazilian players assaulting Colombian players and getting away with it throughout the whole match, I actually really loved watching Neymar getting clattered.#Karma

lol, I don’t care if it comes off as lame, it is what it is.

Wishing ill on someone who apparently fractured their vertebrae (which can end football careers) isn't lame, its actually pathetic. Hope you are happy!

Doesn't really make sense to root for Brazil to win it (see: page 1) and then wish ill on one of its main players. Look, there are plenty of players I don't like (i.e. Robben) but I wouldn't wish for them to get injured or anything bad to happen to them.

"it is what it is though" I guess.

Have I said I loved watching him getting injured and stretchered ? and did you and I know that he had fractured his vertrebrae beforehand ? I just liked watching Brazilians getting tackled just like Colombians were. Although that injury can be called bad “juju”, but same could have happened to James who was brutally tackled throughout the match. It was pretty much their game plan to kick James out of the match. But it happened to their own Neymar instead, Karma, see.I was rooting for Brazil in this world cup because of their beautiful playing style, but they’ve played like a Rugby team so far, except Neymar. And the way they’ve been helped by officials is pathetic. So I ain’t rooting for them anymore.

Wow, seems I missed quite a lot. I was on call last night and in the OR until 2-3 AM, I didn't get to see anything. Really sorry about Neymar, having had spinal surgery myself earlier this year, it sucks really bad.

It will be difficult to decide who to root for tonight..

Argentina vs Belgium
Netherlands vs Costa Rica

All faves of mine.

I am torn on the Netherland/ Costa Rica match.

On the one hand I favour the Dutch. On the other hand I would like to see someone totally unexpected win.

Pretty sure Brazil will defeat the German on tuesday. Well I know I said that about France, too (seems I do not put much stock into my home country team, right? I love their keeper though. He impressed me.) , but anyway Germany has a long line of lost matches in the past when it comes to Brazil.
And I did not think they were too convincing in the past matches (though the last one was definitely more thrilling to watch than the one against USA for example)

Sometimes though when a player integral to a team gets hurts, the team rallies and will be inspired to win for them and elevates their game. That being said, it will be tough to beat Germany without Neymar and Silva.

@Anonymidarkness: honestly its not a big deal to me, but your reply following mine came off as really suspect thats all. I'm just not a fan of that kind of energy, but we can agree to disagree on that. I agree that Brazil was too rough with James (but so were both teams to everyone period), but you can't really prove that the game plan was to injure James. That's like saying the Colombia defender tried to intentionally break Neymar's vertebrae. Either way it ain't karma or deserved.

The officiating yesterday didn't help anyone, in fact, it hurt both teams because the refs might as well as not shown up. Several cards should have been thrown for both teams, but since the refs allowed it to get to that point that is the consequence of not doing your job: reckless and dangerous play.

WHOA Argentina! Finally played an exciting game for once! Hilarious that Messi was being chased by 3-4 defenders at times. Netherlands and Argentina would be a great match up (if Arg plays like they did today) if it happens.

^ What I saw was Brazil's own plan backfiring on their best player, "Karma" was just a label I put on it, wasn't serious about it. Referee didn't help of course and was very biased with his decisions yesterday. Was it their plan to injure James? I don't know, but fouling James continuously can't point towards other directions, can it? And I do believe that Colombian defender intended to hurt Neymar, he directly went for him, happens in football lots of time. I expressed what I felt at the time.

Belgium were very poor today. Netherlands will progress easily, I think, but I'll be rooting for Costa Rica.

*sniffles* Belgium, our neighbours... A Belgian woman in my circle immediately messaged being sad on whatsapp (if anyone knows what that is).

Fingers crossed for the orange lions!! Haven't really seen Costa Rica's matches, so I can't say how I feel about them.
