after this week's episode i think only jamie/doug have a chance. vaughn/monet are just not compatible and jason is, like many people said, very kind, but immature and not ready for marriage and adult conversations. cortney is VERY ready to be a wife/mother and i think that is going to distance jason from her.

^ *groan* I know. Vaughn and Monet are difficult to watch...so incompatible.

But I loved when he told her that she could just express herself fully towards him. Maybe that was not the best invitation because she seemed to let loose even worse after that. But I thought it was poetic, and big of him to say that.

We're all rooting for Jason to grow up. Something in the preview for next week bothered me...I think he's complaining about having to meet Cortney's family? That should be no big deal...I don't understand.

T, hope you got to see this last episode...I loved watching Doug and Jamie dancing together...they were in their element! Can't wait til Doug does the Dirty Dancing lift on her...we should have extra popcorn ready that night since we'll rewind that part so many times.

I think Libras are some of the best dancers. Aren't they?

@T

YUM that popcorn looks good! So glad you didn't put the fake, bright yellow butter sauce on it. Count on Taurus to get the food right.

I was taken aback when Jamie actually said that she wants to do the Dirty Dancing lift. I would be embarrassed to say that even if I had the ambition, cuz I wanted to be Baby and get tossed around when I was like fourteen...not anymore.

But who knows, dancers must think differently.

Did you watch the episode yet? OMGush when Jamie and Doug re-enact their first kiss, that was priceless.

@WarriorPrincess

Cortney seems nice and genuine, but I would have a hard time communicating with someone who smiles and frowns at the same time, like she does. Mixed messages there. And sometimes she ends her sentences in a "clipped" way, like she is hurrying to get the speaking over with. These could be reactions to the camera in her face, though...awkwardness about trying to be real and "watchable" at once.

I think we lost Lonake, maybe she fainted cuz Vaughn looked so good last episode.

j/k

Faith & yeah, I caught the latest episode. Monet is starting to get really annoying. She's always complaining about something it seems. She and Vaughn really seem better off as friends.

I understand and agree with Vaughn about having an issue with her having a girl's night on the first night he would be home after a few days of being away for work. It's like she's unconsciously setting them up for failure and arguments. You would think she'd want to spend that time with him, especially because they have only a limited amount of time on this show before they have to decide on staying together or divorcing.

I'm starting to wonder if she thrives on arguing. Maybe that's how her relationships with family members were. I wish she would calm down a bit and be more openminded and not so quick to point out flaws in him.

Jamie and Doug

They are really sweet together. It's nice to see. Listening to her talk about how it's hard for her to open up and is still not completely comfortable with taking the relationship to a sexual level (can't even change in front of him? i mean...she has worn a bikini in front of him...it's practically the same thing)

...I'm starting to wonder if it's because she likes him so much now that she doesn't want to risk taking it there too early and then perhaps things going south. Like, she might also be waiting to make sure he likes her the same way she likes him and confident he isn't going to leave her before 'going there'. I think she said she has abandonment issues before. Anyway, I don't think it's a bad thing, or that they should have had sex by now, but it's clear that she's trying to protect herself even though she seems to really trust him.

The lunch with his brother and sister in law seemed a little awkward for her. I can understand how it is and why it's hard for her to fit in or be completely comfortable around a family like his. One that is quite close and supportive, which is not what she is used to with her own.

KortKneeeeee (lol) gives off a clingy vibe to me. And I'm not sure Jason is totally comfortable with it. I think even he said she's that typical southern girl that is ready to start having babies, get a house with white picket fence and do the traditional marriage thing and he's not quite there yet.

She is very southern and he's very northern. I think it can be hard for those types to mesh well and make it work sometimes.

She seems nice, but I think there is something off for Jason and he's not as into her as she is to him. Or he's finding he's just not ready for this type of commitment level yet.

The next episode looks like it will be really interesting!!!

Reminds me of a new show I saw ads for called
Jersey Belle:
http://www.bravotv.com/jersey-belle

quote:
The new docu-series Jersey Belle follows outspoken New Jersey native and entertainment publicist Jaime Primak Sullivan as she navigates life in the upscale Southern suburb of Mountain Brook, Alabama. Jaime’s life was turned upside down after she married Michael Sullivan, Mountain Brook’s "most eligible bachelor." Surrounded by a fabulous group of girlfriends who want nothing more than to sculpt her into a Southern darling, Jaime tries to fit in to a world that is not ready for an unapologetic woman who likes to speak her mind -- often with hilarious results.

^^ Is that a reality show?

What's with New Jersey people being exploited like circus freaks in the media lately? And how can I capitalize on that, since I'm from there, too?

My best friend and I are planning a trip to the Jersey shore and trying to decide which beach to go to, and I'm trying not to say, "Wherever we're most likely to run into reality star Doug Hehner, of course." Because I really want to be friends with them.

Laughing because it's true, though. I love how they are being old-fashioned...that she is sensitive and he's honoring that part of her...so sweet. I think she might be careful about getting deeply involved, because she must know that her upbringing left her scarred, and her picture-perfect exterior may not "match" the lingering issues she has. Previews for upcoming episodes that show her falling apart a bit...that's a lot for some guys to handle. I know because guys never liked it when I came unglued, go figure.

LOL

'Song lyric that comes to mind is, "Are you strong enough to be my man?" I think it's just beautiful that Doug is proving strong enough...so far anyway.

Not done, be back later

I never really came unglued, not overtly anyway, but what I'm trying to say is, I don't think it's as common as I thought it would be, that men can sit there and really listen to, and be empathic about, women's problems. I mean, they might have an instinct to protect women physically, but emotionally, most men are easily overwhelmed and squeamish. That's what I've seen and experienced.

Not really talking about my husband here, although he's had his moments of not listening...and so have I. Imperfect world.

Right, exactly. It's hard for me to watch.

I would also find it hard to integrate into a family where the matriarch seems to have a chip on her shoulder. But...I have Mars square moon so...that's just me.

That's really perceptive. Also I think that people with sun and Mercury in the same sign have a certain advantage...their communication lines up with who they perceive themselves to be. It gives them a kind of centered-ness. So, she knows what she wants and is there waiting for him to catch up...maybe his Aries Mercury actually enjoys fighting and doesn't know how to deal with someone when there's nothing to fight about. So he feels cagey because there's no outlet for his aggression when everything is running too smoothly (?)

Yeah I can't wait for the next episode either...this is basically the only show I watch.

I've missed most of the past two episodes, so I can't really comment.

I managed to get the English version of a certain website with a lot of shows on it, so I've been watching things there, although the app stops working for a while, if the internet messes up.

Here are the sites I use to catch up on practically any show I'm interested in:
http://www.tvmuse.com
http://watchfullepisode.com
http://videobull.to

there are more, but those seem to be the best ones and ones that post the shows the quickest.

The only annoying part is usually you have to close out a few ads that overlay the video or that pop up, then click play once or twice for them to work.

And on TVmuse, you scroll down to the comments for the particular episode you want to watch and open some of the closed comments to give you link options to the episode.

Here's Married at First Sight there: http://www.tvmuse.com/tv-shows/Married-at-First-Sight_36783/

latest: http://www.tvmuse.com/tv-shows/Married-at-First-Sight_36783/season_1/episode_6/

Click the episode you want to see and hit "Click to show" on some of the comments and it will bring up link options. A few posters there are great about posting a newly aired show w/in hours, but most are usually up the next day.

another option:
http://watchfullepisode.com/?s=married+at+first+sight&x=15&y=7

Hope that made sense.

Do not download anything (as I'm sure you already know)! You don't need to. They should run normally with your own software after x-ing those kinds of ads out. Those are just ads you should ignore and should go away when you x them out.

Some work better/faster for me than others. If I see a link for a show being hosted on allmyvideos.com, for instance, I use that one.

Here's another one that hosts the shows right on the site: http://www.tubeplus.me/browse/tv-shows/Last/ALL/

might work better for you.

Yes. I think I might check it out.

What's with New Jersey people being exploited like circus freaks in the media lately? And how can I capitalize on that, since I'm from there, too?

I don't know, but I think it might've started because of MTV's Jersey Shore? That's the only thing I can think of.

My best friend and I are planning a trip to the Jersey shore and trying to decide which beach to go to, and I'm trying not to say, "Wherever we're most likely to run into reality star Doug Hehner, of course." Because I really want to be friends with them.

LOL

I agree w/ everything you said there. I think it makes him really special and it's impressive how much he's honoring her emotions and letting her take the lead in a way. Letting her know that he's not going to push her into anything and is okay with waiting until she's comfortable.

They are sweet in a genuine, mature kind of way. Not sick-sappy. Doug is a true gentleman. And yes, I think she is really sensitive and has a good heart too.

'Song lyric that comes to mind is, "Are you strong enough to be my man?" I think it's just beautiful that Doug is proving strong enough...so far anyway.

Love that song! Yes, perfect for them.

Not done either....

Glad this show will be renewed for a second season. It's fun to talk about.

I had said: The trip w/ your girlfriend sounds fun. I am a northern girl too - no wonder we click like we do.

Don't worry, I totally get what you are saying. Been there, done that too. And no, it's not as common as it should be. And yes, most are easily overwhelmed by that in my experience.

Yes. Though part of me understands his mother. I might not initially like her or how she reacted to my son on their wedding day either. I'd probably be overprotective of him and hurt for him with how she reacted to seeing him at first. Mom needs to let that go now though and realize there's more to her and things have changed and that she seems like someone who will treat her son right.

Will be very interesting to see how this one plays out in the end!!

I think it's bothering Doug's mom that Jamie isn't able to attend their family events because she usually has to work. I think mom wants more chances to really feel Jamie out as a person and isn't getting the opportunities to. Maybe Jamie senses that and is not making the effort she could.

Something was said at lunch with his brother about her being able to get together with his family for Easter and she can't because she has to work again. I have to wonder if she's not making more of an effort to request certain days off because she is so uncomfortable with the family thing.....Not sure yet.

I really hope they work out. Seems like it could be a really beautiful long-lasting relationship full of growth, especially if they give it the chance to blossom over time.

It's interesting to see how my views on the people change with each episode. Also I like to read other people's comments here and elsewhere and can usually agree with much of what they are saying, even when I have said or see something opposite or have a very different viewpoint - can still see where they are coming from. I like finding out how people see, read or pick up completely different nuances in the cast members and their relationships with each other even though we are watching the same show with the same people, interesting how different we can perceive everything.

I watched about ten minutes of one I'd seen before, last night, and I thought again of how reality TV execs like to toy with what they filmed, put things together out of sequence, and play things up for some people, but not others. I wonder how much of that is going on here - especially with Monet and Vaughn.

Yes, I notice that too on a few different shows I watch. Do the executives not know that it's often obvious? And I too can usually see through the "villains" they cast - or can see that they are using the worst footage of some people in order to paint them in a certain light. And others making look innocent sweet etc. They need angels and devils and contrast etc to make a show interesting to watch. Maybe some people don't pick up on it.

Last night the Finale of Big Brother UK aired and I was so glad the portrayed "evil ***** " Helen won. I was rooting for her, because she wasn't that at all, but that was part of the storyline they wanted to cast her in. The producers were very crafty in the footage they showed of her and really mixed it up. Sometimes making her look like a monster (which most people thought she was and many got very angry that she won - then started all kinds of conspiracy theory nonsense and said they'd never watch the show again LOL amazing how angry some fans got about it) but they also showed her her sensitive side at times and I could see that all along they were making her the most controversial housemate and that was their goal and probably did plan it so she would win.

But still, the footage aired, was still all her, as it is with everyone on these shows. Yes, cut and edited, but they still do and say the things they do. It's not like they are made to do anything, it's just not all shown and can't be. The good, bad and ugly comes out. It's not up to them what is shown. And that is a risk people take with going on these shows.

Anyway, I'm sure that goes on on this show too, but not as bad as I've noticed it in others (i don't think). At times I like Monet and other times Vaughn. It's hard to get a full picture anyway and they can only choose a small amount of footage to cram into one episode. They obviously want to pick the most dramatic or interesting parts. We might see things a lot differently if they showed everything raw, with continuous footage of the people. Such is "reality tv".

Hope some of those sites work for you btw. I've found some shows on them that I love that I'd have never been able to see here in the States.

I can imagine many reality tv stars watching the shows they are on when the final taping airs and going nuts because the producers left out the next sentence after saying something really horrible or whatever - something that would have given a better idea of what they really meant or who they really were. I've seen that happen a lot before and it often comes out at a reunion show or in the press after the person sees it and tries to explain the rest of the actual story. I'd never subject myself to it.
