Stand your ground laws needs to be addressed and clarified. Many states have the law and it is so ambiguous it is useless imho. My state has it and everyone involved in a stand your ground defence has been convicted.

6 women found Zimmerman not guilty of manslaughter or 2nd degree murder of Trayvon Martin. The backlash around the country (CNN)has already started. I suspect much violence will come around because of it.. Old hurts festering, new hurts and the inability to get clarity on how stand your ground applies and when.

I had a problem with Zimmerman when the dispatcher told him not to follow Martin. IF he would have obeyed this tragedy would have never occured.

Now that the justice sysem has spoken, do you think Zimmerman was not guilty or guilty of either charge and why ?

I suspect( one at least) of the women were knowledgable of how many yrs manslaughter could carry in FL. so backed off it.

I know the outrage is going to be swift and horrid.

Exactly! The law is useless, as it stands, and needs revamped. It only provided protection to a select few and those few are not unually women with abusive males.

There have actually been a few cases here where an intruder was shot and the law didn`t hold.

This is true. And the edited 911 call is something else...however am very suspicious of the media every time they bring a case like this giving it too much attention.

There is something completely off about this whole story, and i do feel sorry that a teenager is dead.

but how did a Hispanic (his mother is Peruvian) killing a black guy, become a white vs black issue in the media and people psyches...once again?!

it's okay, i feel with you.

I know at least two couples, where the four people are beautiful on the inside out. like you know it's not an act with them how sweet they are, and one no luck with the babies, always a miscarriage, and a terrible one at that.
And the other couple are seriously thinking of IVF now, as nothing else worked....

but Casey Anthony, has another two coming??...coz she did such a great job with the first one?!?! As i said, I FEEL YOU!

hmmm am guessing they decided a white hispanic is someone who is half white half hispanic? Most white South Americans (those of clear west European origins and not mixed) wouldn't want anyone calling them that for sure..

I don't know they are certainly playing on people's emotions with this one...like the media is bored and wants more 'action' like people beating each other over race etc...or they are just covering up bigger stories....or NWO really really wants this to be the year, and they already found ways to ignite the bigger economies in South America and Europe etc, now they need to change the US itself a little bit?!

Florida's self-defense laws explicitly state that even if you start a fight, you can use deadly force to end it if you "reasonably believe" you're in danger of "great bodily harm," and the jury's instructions made this abundantly clear.

Unfortunately, the second paragraph takes it to a different place. Granted, racism can certainly be amplified with the implementation of this law...I lament the fact that only the outcome is tried, and not the poor decisions leading to the outcome. It's crazy that a person can start a confrontation, and then kill the person they were confronting, and have it still be legal.

That's one of the level's the Dexter meme works on: You could either see the picture as Dexter finding another person that fits Harry's code, or you could see it as Dexter seeing the extent to which he could use this defense in his favor were he to get into hot water.

Justice may still be being served, though, with the amount of paranoia Zimmerman now needs to live with, and he can't very well shoot the next person he has a confrontation with, can he? He's now an accident waiting to happen.

There wasn`t enough evedence to convict if the law is taken into account.

Does this give anyone the right to start an altercation then end it with deadly force?
Fix the law, fix the outcomes.
