^And: Unlike the current Senate process the ACA went through dozens of hearings and amendments (many of them offered and accepted by Republicans.) IP: Logged |

As it happens there are enough Republican senators protesting this tactical abuse to make it quite likely it will cost McConnell the majority he needs. 🎻🎻🎻 IP: Logged |

The glee over taking healthcare away from millions of people, is sickening. The Senate bill is apparently even worse than the House bill. Anyone who approves of their terms, is a disgusting human being. Verging on human. IP: Logged |

You must engage in self-loathing, because Obamacare has taken healthcare away from millions. Crybaby Schumer had his speech prepared before the bill was even released, so your mantra is baseless,IP: Logged |

That is actually a basic premise for many insurance contracts in the past, and was easily covered by many plans, and was affordable at the same time. Same as accidental dismemberment causing permanent disability or other things like that. These were the options you used to talk about and negotiate with your insurance companies with. If you wanted to neglect that coverage, your choice, your risk, and your very own accountability. Today, you can still receive treatment, but regardless if you did or didn't have insurance, you get price gauged either way. Either you, or the others who visit that hospital (as do those in poverty, such as homeless folks). People say it's the rich who are benefiting from Obamacare getting repealed, but it isn't. The wealthy can easily afford medical care out-of-pocket whenever they feel like it, as needed. It's the middle class getting strangled. The so-called "silent majority " will ALWAYS lash out when taxes get involved. Taxes sparked both the American Revolution and the Civil War. It's a sure-fire way to get the people's attention. Nothing is ever free. Ever. That's the entire point. To make it affordable for everyone, instead of forcing everyone to buy the entire pie, let them buy what they can actually afford. The leftovers can be dealt with in a different way. We need to focus on finding out how to do that instead. The tyranny of the majority is why we have the electoral college. Also why we have rotating terms, and regular elections. We probably should have term limits too, but we will have to see how much traction the call for a constitutional convention gets. By the way, simple majority vote in Congress used to be the norm until rather recently.
Very well said! IP: Logged |

Hypocrites. Major hypocrites. IP: Logged |

The penalty is in major premium hike for those who interrupt coverage. AAAND the vote has been delayed because not enough GOP senators will back it. Must be the Dems' fault 😉 IP: Logged |

That makes it political suicide to vote for this monstrosity. And there are other polls that are almost as bad. None show more than 35 percent support. And they're all heading downward: There’s little public confidence in Trump or congressional Republicans on the issue, however, which threatens any effort to build support among the undecided. Forty-three percent of Americans, the poll shows, trust congressional Democrats most to protect them and their families' interest in the health care debate. Only 19 percent trust Trump most, and 10 percent trust congressional Republicans. It’s not just the public, media polls that could push Republicans away from uniting around a bill. The American Medical Association, which opposes the measure, this week released surveys conducted in a number of states that are home to fence-sitting senators — Alaska, Colorado, Nevada, Ohio and West Virginia — that showed little support for the bill and its provisions. To hammer home the point, the AMA hired two separate polling firms to conduct the surveys, Public Opinion Strategies and Voter/Consumer Research, that work for Republican campaigns. (Public Opinion Strategies conducted four of the five surveys — excepting West Virginia, where it lists Sen. Shelley Moore Capito as a client.) If they could give up their permanent tax cut white whale, they could simply leave Medicaid alone, shore up the exchanges and say "we repealed it and we replaced it and now it's called Trumpcare!" Hooray! But they can't. Their donors demand the tax cuts. IP: Logged |

We all support gretting rid of Obama taxes. The reason that support of the bill is so low is because the public hasn't had time to see what's in it, coupled with the lying left's mantra of people dying in the streets. Once passed and costs/premiums lower drastically, the approval rating will soar. IP: Logged |

Or maybe because the failure of Obamacare is Fake News. According to Trumps own HHS dept its diing just fine http://m.dailykos.com/story/2017/7 /4/1677893/-Trump-s-own-Department-of-Health-and-Human-Services-Obamacare-working-as-intended-not-failing? IP: Logged |

The Senate version added Health Savings Plans, which were not allowed in Obamacare and are pretax dollars, so this will drop premiums by 30% instantly. It also added Consumer Choice, which means that as long as insurers offer at least one compatible plan, they can offer as many other plans as they want. This will ensure there are low cost plans that cover what people want and need. If someone wants the Cadillac plan, they can still get it. Choices lowers costs. Economics 101.IP: Logged |

Well, 41% of counties only have one provider, and 19 of 23 exchanges that recieved $2 billion under Obamacare have completely collapsed. Twice as many paid the fine or took a waiver than purchased insurance.IP: Logged |
