The book "People of the Lie" talks about people who will not look at themselves. Hence, they need to project their own unfaced parts ,outward. This is VERY dangerous on any level--personal or societal. "People of the Lie" hurt others!!!! I know we ALL are on a spiritual path ,here. That should mean something. That should mean we search inward first much before we point a finger outward especially if there is NO evidence beyond our own hate. ------------------ Jesus never put his trust in man cuz he knew what was in man. Another important part of the journey is to put into action what we have learned through these searchings. To lead by example because what we do and how we conduct ourselves has much more power than what we say others should or should not do, especially if our actions and conduct do not match our words of wisdom. katatonic Knowflake Posts: 5913 From: Registered: Apr 2009	posted December 24, 2010 09:58 AM this is very sad: "There are beautiful things in life among people, but rare" and gives me a very good insight into why we all seem to ami to be "enemies" and "haters" ... it is not an uncommon belief but until recently "beautiful things among people" was pretty much the norm here at LL...excepting GU and some philosophical arguments that turned nasty with a certain member who ALSO saw a lot of haters here...and everywhere else i suspect. when i was young i thought life was a battle for recognition, respect and support too. but when i look back i realize that it was MY POINT OF VIEW that made it that way. as has been stated in this thread several times, EVERYONE has apologized, pretty much, EXCEPT for ami. why does someone who consistently suggests others "look at themselves" refuse to do so herself? the closest i have come to being nasty to ami was to suggest to FC that she leave it alone because ami does not appear to care how she affects the rest of us, and by extension, the board. i have refrained from agreeing with her when i didn't but that is NOT picking on someone, it is disagreeing. for this i was told "i know you don't like me" or some such stock reply...however i have declined the invitation to talk in private and that seems to have sealed my conviction. this is not the first "call-out" thread ami has posted and yet she seems shocked that it brings people's protests to the fore. i suggest she NOT call people out if she doesn't want a fight. end of problem. Usually the scapegoated person has something other people envy such as personality traits like a good sense of humor or keen intelligence. Often, the scapegoated person will not join the "group think "for that particular group cuz the person is an "individual thinker". After the person is scapegoated, in classic Social Psych fashion , the group BLAMES that person FOR being a "victim" OF their scapegoating. The group/mob acts as a whole.IF any individuals are singled out, it breaks UP the mob so it cannot function as it was. That is how any hostile group can be broken up ,by singling OUT individuals. When people are weak, they must band in a group to attack someone else. They would NOT do it as an individual. As an individual, they have not self actualized to the point that they know who they are and as such are not threatened by another person. That is the core of mob group mentality. They are threatened by another person for whatever the reasons may be. As such, they feel it is LEGITIMATE to attack the person. They get their strength from each other. So,.... yeah. I'm looking at the psychology of this from a completely different angle. This has NOTHING to do with people being jealous of anybodies intelligence. Not at ALL. Kat~ You have it right there. My philosophy on life can pretty much be summed up in what you said. EVERYTHING is perspective. We all look at this from our own perspectives, it's kind of hard not to. We are the drivers of these things we call bodies. Our brains and our emotions are the engines. Some people are just better drivers is all. Some drive cautiously, and avoid tickets and accidents. And other people just crash and burn. It is very sad, you are right about that. I have a hard time believing that grown a$$ adults throw around words such as hate and jealousy, as if we were all in grade school. That is silly. I don't hate anyone. I hate Hate.
