I think there is ONE thing that overcomes the sadness.
We have it in our own souls.
It is giving love to others.
That is one of the rare things which can overcome the angst and tribulation of this world.

The Bible says the highest form of love is when you give it to the "unlovely".It is easy to give it to the lovely.

who cries for all of humanity? for the fragile state of mankind? for lack of understanding the big WHY? gawd, i am wierd.
this is why i have to resort to light hearted humor, silly non-sense jokes and general retarded slap stick humor, both eyes open looking for good, any joy, any good news, and kindness. HAVE TO...have to FIND it.

I used to feel that way, until I saw how (who I believe is God, others say it's something else, i.e. the universe) recycles and prepares, tears down and rebuilds.

I realize that in spite of being here to witness destruction, I am mostly unable to change it. My small sphere is the only place where I have the best control. So, I focus on that, and it makes me feel not so overwhelmed.

otherwise i could drown myself in an obyss of sadness for all that is and possibly never recover. it makes a person realize how small and how alike we really are and it is humbling.

my wish for all of us here...
may we all attract good things this coming year. may we all see many good things with our eyes, do many good things with our hands and hold cheer and love in our hearts with gratitude and joy...in 2011 and forevermore.

That's a nice wish of you, Firecracker. Just realize that as bad as things seem today, the Hope of TOMORROW is GREAT.

It ain't over till it's over, to quote Lenny Kravitz

You just keep fighting Ms. Leo. It's good for your health

It's all on your perspective. Linda viewed the reverse polarity in things. She endured enough pain for three (or more) lifetimes, and still she found the love and beauty in things. Yes, she hurt deeply and found more anguish than most people ever will (lost three young children), but she also loved more deeply than most will. In India, there were times in the past that people worshipped Shiva The Destroyer--a god who rules destruction. With destruction comes rebuilding and a new start. Sometimes you have to break something apart to build it back up. But that being said, I feel you. People suck.

It is TRUE about destruction building new life.If *I* never had destruction, I would have been like my Aunt.
Everything worked out well for her.She is a lovely person.
She is but she never had to go down deep in to the depths of her soul and try to make sense of things.
That produces qualities ONLY found by doing just that

I understand you completely FC. And that's why I love you. I use humor for the very same thing, maybe that's why God gave it to us.

You are a very deep and spiritual person. And very, very special.

When Kevin was so sick right after Teagan was born, I had this aquaintence, whom maybe would have become my friend, under other circumstances. She is married to a Pharmacist. Has one child. Her husband makes enough money for her to stay at home and pretend to write books.

Whenever I would talk to her, the only things I would hear out of her mouth, were how horrible her life was...the worst thing in the world for her was not winning tickets to Arthur LIVE for her daughter. Life sucked, they didn't have any money, blah blah blah.

I would just look at her in amazement that she couldn't see what was right in FRONT of her nose! How wonderful it all is, inspite of the horrid things that happen to us/people.

It helped me realize that there are two types of people, in the world; those I want to spend time with, those who SEE how good life is and all it has to offer us, inspite of everything. And those whom are shriveled up prunes inside emotionally and cannot see the beauty in the world. I don't want to spend any of my energy with those, cause they make me tired and sad.

You are one of the first variety of people.

Blessings dear one.

I've felt this way, and it is easy to get bogged down in it. I laugh a lot with my Sadge mother, my sister, my Dad, and others. What is that quote about a day without laughter? I'll have to google it.

A couple of weeks ago, I was stretched out in the tub on a snowy night, thinking that it was hard to feel sorry for myself, when there were people out there freezing, living in cardboard boxes, or looking for a place to sleep in a church somewhere. I almost put it on my status on FB, but didn't want to bring anyone down.

quote:
even when i don't personally like someone, and then life knocks them down, it hurts to see them suffer.

Same here.

quote:
i try to direct my thoughts to positive vibration, be generous with others and kind to strangers, it's only the unexpected good things that can change the vibration of the planet i suppose...but it is hard to consider everything sometimes and maintain a mindset that rises above the current vibratiuon of dispair and disease that covers our planet and humanity as a whole.

why am i plagued with these thoughts and others have never ever even considered anything beyond thier immediate wants and needs for self gratification? no seriously..

why do some care and others don't even recognise anything beyond what they want right now? if you give it to them, they just go to the next thing they want right now and never get satisfied and never even realise that they are just going from want to want until they die and of course, no one can take any of this crap with us when we go, so who even cares about all the crap anyway? i mean it does not satisfy anything except the immediate want, and is just a way people exist...it doesn't make sense to me.

who cries for all of humanity? for the fragile state of mankind? for lack of understanding the big WHY? gawd, i am wierd.

I was going to say that if you're weird, then I'm weird, but... You aren't weird. You're one of the best people I've met here.

if i even think about it ALL, i think sometimes,,,, who am i to even pray for myself, when God needs to be busy with way more important stuff.

I had an image, last week, of him/it trying to answer phone calls, and most everyone being on hold until he could get to them.

quote:
hope of a BETTER tomorrow.... these are the gool old days!

My mother said that latter part to me, two years ago. We were in the kitchen, she was doing dishes and I was doing something else, and she just blurted that out.

quote:
i have money, i have a comfortable home, i have food in my belly and a wamrm blankie, people who connect and love me....i want for nothing, i am one of the lucky ones...right now anyway...this isn't really about a brighter tomorrow, and not everyone gets a brighter tomorrow.

Me too - money is a little better than it was last year, and I've asked one family member to stop complaining every time the fridge or cupboard is so full that things are falling out. It's been getting on my nerves, and I keep saying, "That's a *good* thing!"

quote:
just about considering the human condition itself. which makes me sad.

and how some people never even consider it and how they are better off not to see the futility of it all. if a merciful God wants us to someday get to heaven and we want utopia, some hope to cling to, doesn't anyone ever wonder why he didn't just keep us there? why the human experiment? why life, love, hate, emotions, brains, stuff, systems, good, evil, people, animals and all living things exist and fight TO exist and remain in EXISTANCE..

I wonder. Sometimes I can see the point made in books by people like Brian Weiss and Michael Newton, but there are times that it feels like some sort of sadistic/masochistic cycle. I say that, and for the most part, I'm one of the lucky ones.

To find joy in the smallest of things has kept me sane.
I try to expand on that daily.

Last night I was thinking how good washing dishes is. The bubbles are so pretty in their irredesence, the warm water feels good on my hands.... the dish with clean water running over it.. it's peace.

Today I watched my dog playing in the snow, and I thought my heart would burst. He looked so HAPPY, and goofy! Just running and flopping along with not a care, trying to eat the snow, coming up for air with a snout full of it.

I truly wish people would slow way down and notice all the gorgeous things this place called earth has to offer us. So much, so many beautiful faces and souls ALL around us.

I love how you put things into words

I feel the same when I see everyday things we take for granted. I love watching my husband laugh, the way our cat loves to snuggle and lick our hands, our crazy pup and how he carries his new bone (that is about 18 inches long) in his mouth- all lopsided and goofy.

Life has so many gifts, we miss them when we get so busy that all we can see is the stress of the day. I know it is hard to always see the beauty (life is crazy) but I will say, after the deployments, life is sweeter and I don't take the little things for granted.

Thank You Bears

People laughing is a totally awesome thing.!
I feel the same way about that.
And the fact that it's your hubby whose laughter still makes your heart swell is very inspiring for those in the world that haven't found their other half yet.

Blessing to you.

We are very significant. Everything in creation is significant. Everything fits together for a greater whole.

The Creator gave us this experience because it wanted us to be able to choose. To be a conscious being. I have understood what it feels like to be a robot or have things made to be a certain way, but The Creator isn't about this. That is what is so beautiful. The Creator gives you a choice. If it forced certain outcomes then it would be a tyrant. The Creator allows you to make the choice of right or wrong.
