Any thoughts by other women on the character of Peeta Mellark in the Hunger Games, played by Josh Hutcherson? (Obviously those not teens should ignore his age.)I'm asking because my girl has had a HUGE crush on Josh Hutcherson after seeing him in this role (but never before despite seeing other movies with him in it) and it's just not going away. She's Josh crazy now and it seems almost every day she mentions something about him and today she got this poster. As she was going why she wanted this poster so much I mentioned that Josh Hutcherson seemed popular with all the ladies right now and she says nearly every girl at school is in love with him because of his being Peeta in the Hunger Games.
If so, that throws a monkey wrench into the idea that women want dominant men.
I got dragged to see the Hunger Games with her, btw (in her umpteenth time to see it and she felt I just HAD to see it) and I recall liking him and thinking him sweet. Given that he's 19 (and I think the character was 16) I felt more protective of him than wanting to kiss him, but if I were to get with a guy I think I'd want him to be like Peeta, too.
So how do other women feel about the character? (Pretend he's older if you have to.)
