^^

Sorry for the length, I just remembered you don't like that. Ah well, it's almost 2 AM for me and I should get to bed. I'd just delete the above but people would probably think it had been some terrible flaming going on (and about them no doubt) so I'll just leave it. Hopefully someone finds it interesting to read.

I really got to stop coming here just before I go to bed!

We all have our own opinions.

Barbie, it's ok to feel passionately about topic but tone it down. You may not agree with AG but you can get your point across in calmer and constructive manner.

There are others here who don't agree with AG but I don't see them bashing him about.

Second thumbs up for this.

Discrimination is by no means restricted to sexism and racism.

I completely understand where you are coming from.
However, you *feel* more strongly about this issue, because it happened to you personally. You went *through* it and you *know* on a personal level how it felt to be in that position.
This does not lessen the significance of other types of discrimination that others have dealt with and that are/were just as painful to them.
You can't put yourself in the shoes of a person of another race (who was treated just as badly as you were, in virtue of their race).... and you can't put yourself in the shoes of a woman who has dealt with sexism.
If you had -lived- through this ^^ as you have lived through financial status discrimination, then you would be more understanding of their plight.

LOL wow I am so indifferent to your issues it's actually really funny.
Normally I don't laugh at peoples personal struggles but LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Mainly because I feel like your "issues" are not a valid excuse for your opinions.
The fact that you need to excuse you opinions is hilarious because you actually know it's inherently wrong.
Just perfect LOLOLOL.

The key is realizing discrimination is discrimination, like Odette already stated, Aqua, and not get caught up in what separates. I agree classism is one of the greatest evils on the planet and very wide spread but I don't subtract from people who have experienced racism or sexism just because I know classism is experienced by more people.
All of it has the same outcome, Aqua.

K, you can be so mean and you are such a smart, wonderful person. I have come to really admire your approach to life. It hurts me when I see you mean.

This is not mean. It's a lack of ability to empathise across a computer screen and understand another person's "meaning". There are at least 4 layers of communication in the initial post. People who are strong in air/fire and lack for instance - water, can have problems with abstract (non-literal) communication (i.e. reading both the actual lines & 'between the lines' as opposed to reading only the lines).

The wording - "I am indifferent to your issues" - is exactly the kind of thing I am referring to, because he genuinely is indifferent & he is being honest.

Well first off, let me say that I empathize with the fact that you had to experience class based discrimination in your past. No one likes to be kicked onto the curb for situations beyond their control.

However, the reactionary conclusions that you derived from your experiences are quite damning Aquaguy. If anything, given your experiences, you should have been able to place yourself in the shoes of someone who is being discriminated against right now based on factors that are out of their control (i.e. Gender, Race, etc.)

I wish you well but at the same time, I do hope you learn to expand your horizons and try to see things from another given perspective a bit more clearly.

This is what I think because I did it, too. In my walk toward self acceptance( and I am still on it) I exposed my heart to people. I knew some people would not like it but dealing with that was part of my growth to not really caring that much.

To me, the process of becoming oneself i.e. an authentic person is fraught with more and more self definition.

In that process, you will find people who dislike you, just because you are who you are.

You will find people who will give you a piece of their mind.

Then, you will find people who have a pure and true heart for you and who will be on your side.

However, more and more, you hone down who YOU are.

I have done this process many times and still do, but not as much.

It is a road to self acceptance.

How do you know? That's how you'd react, you are not everyone. People react differently, we're not robots.

6th House Chiron. Does that fit for you, AG? Sounds like 2nd house Chiron. Are you totally sure of your birth time?

Did you have chronic illness or else think that you are not good enough to be of service to people?

I know because people who have been through that experience would not trivialize it. It's a lot like these spoiled college students I see acting as if people on welfare have it made because they get food stamps or get a small check from the government. It's just so ridiculous you don't know whether to laugh at them or backhand them.

And it doesn't matter if people aren't "robots". That is an extremely disrespectful way to react. People on here think I'm an a**hole because I disagree with different things but the thing is I always explain why I disagree and back it up with logic and my own experience in the most respectful manner possible. I have never made a point to say "oh I'm laughing at your issue".

I'm sure of my birth time. I have always had nagging small health problems my entire life. When I was a child it was constant strep throat and asthma, now it is constant ear infections and bronchitis. Thing is I also have Jupiter in the 6th house which probably cancels out some of the harsher effects of 6th house Chiron.

I don't understand how I was "disrespectful" by saying that people aren't robots lol because it's the truth. I didn't read any logic in what you wrote. All I got from all of that is that your white and because you lived in the ghetto and discriminated against like a million other people every day, you feel "offended" or whatever it is that you're calling it. Fortunately we don't come onto this planet able to pick what we'll look like, just because you are white does not make you any more superior or special than anyone else. You were judged by your class not your color. Maybe the reason they feel you're an a**hole is because you come across as one.
