Fortunately we don't come onto this planet able to pick what we'll look like, just because you are white does not make you any more superior or special than anyone else. You were judged by your class not your color. Maybe the reason they feel you're an a**hole is because you come across as one.

Geeze you aren't very bright are you? I was responding to the fact that you rationalized kerosene'a very rude comments by saying "people aren't robots".i never said whites are superior!!! How could you even read that into what I said??? My point was whites or men aren't always better and have it easier and my life is an example. If you have payed any attention to this forum you would know that there are people here who believe that there is a certain thing called "white male privilege" and I have a big problem with that thought process because I am a white male and have been anything but privileged in my life. I am not b* thing and I'm not saying I should have been better off, my point is it's a myth that white men inherently have it easier because I have live through hardships and I know.

It's very hard to understand where or what direction you go with things. Sorry I just don't understand you're way of writing if those people feel that way let em. Who cares what they think about you or anybody else for that matter. At the end of the day this is just an astrology forum! Nobody knows me or how I am in person here besides DeepFreeze because we live together and his opinions of me are all that matter. You completely act like you are the only person who's gone through such hardships. Guess what? You're not sweetheart. Move on already..

I never said I was, please point out where I said that. You can't because I never said that or implied it. If you are going to come at me please come at me with logic, not emotionally charged irrational responses.

AG, I understood what you were saying and why you were saying it when I read your first post. I know that people are discriminated against for being poor, and it's something that is deeply upsetting to me. Discrimination in general is disturbing for me, on any level.

I'm sorry that people are responding the way that they are to your post. You opened yourself up to everyone here, and I feel that some of the comments have been uncalled for.

But for the record, I understood what you were saying from the beginning.

I am confused by how - one poster (who is not even a regular and people barely know them) can come on here and spill their "issues" most of which were basically the plight of any other human... and actually ask the question "why in the world do some people get all the tough luck in life?" ---- and get pity for their 'attitude'.... BUT... when AG shares such a personal experience after months and months of interacting with us - sooooo many jump down his throat and nullify his negative experiences.

It is indeed offensive to compare different types of discrimination and then say that the type of discrimination you personally endured is more significant than the others. But this is not a 'rational' thought coming from a person who has assessed the state of affairs in cold blood. It's a thought/idea coming from his own pain and suffering and what he feels is a lack of social acknowledgement for his pain.

As opposed to the other poster I am referring to - AG did not say "Why am I the only person in the world who has gone through such hardship?" -- but he is being criticised for it, whereas the other poster was not criticised.

I am also confused by how Padre can be a complete and utter jerk.. with a capital "J".. and receive next to NO reaction for his comments and sometimes he even gets defended... while AG is persistently attacked. This is beyond me.

Did he say that the discrimination he experienced was worse than other types of discrimination? (I'm not trying to argue, I'm just wondering honestly...if so, I skipped that part. I agree with you for the record, ALL forms of discrimination are terrible.)

It's happened more often than you'd think.

I've had a few romances here that ended up meeting many times in "real life". One had talk of marriage. I broke it off with all of them. It was meant to be, for a time being.

Another notorious LL couple comes to mind now.........you'd be surprised at how many have found love here over the years Ami.

Well he said the following (which I personally *feel* hints at comparing different types of discrimination) ... but maybe that was not his intention.

My point was I think it's all usually related. For example you might here a news story about a poor black guy getting hassled by the cops and it becomes a media circus revolving around his race. People get fired up and deem it all a race issue when the reality might be that he is being profiled because he lives in the hood. You also have to wonder if he would be getting hassled if he drove a nice car and lived in a nice neighborhood. I'm not trivializing any discrimination at all, I'm saying I think it's all related. I think most discrimination is based on class and less on gender or color, however that's not to say that those types of discrimination don't exist. But you can't deny the fact that a woman or person of color that is from a wealthy family that is well connected is going to have it easier than a poor man. By the same token a white man from a rich family is going to have it easier than a poor person of color or a poor woman.

Ahh. Yes, I remember reading that now.

They're all a part of the same equation, as far as I'm concerned.

<Edit>
But I don't necessarily agree with everything he just said ^^

Well...I don't think that it always works that way, as women and minorities (they're not actually minorities for the record) are often still discriminated against even when they have money, but it can manifest in more subtle ways. Or not so subtle ways.

But I do agree that people are most definitely discriminated against for being poor. And that's terrible. I'm sorry that you had to experience that, although I don't often hear you complain about it.

I've never been happier and that's the truth! I had begun to give up on the possibility and boom.... There she was. I'm on my phone at work or I could probably go on and on.

I edited out the rest for AG. LOL If you saw it and are upset. Well... Tough. LOL

AG did not say a racist thing, Friends.

Please, don't go there. I am so happy about our LL couple. Lets talk about that!

I have questions
