That must be why men are more prone to baldness and most men start seeing their hairline recede in their 20s or 30s. Men generally have more body hair and women generally have more hair on their heads. This is why men usually have shorter haircuts and women have longer hair and shave all their body hair. This is done to highlight and exaggerate the gender differences and stand out to the opposite sex. Men generally like very feminine looking women so the women tend to wear their hair long and shave their legs, bikini line etc. you get the picture.
I'm talking about men who do not have any baldness. Of course its not the same for balding men.
Most men do lose hair in varying degrees, it's just some lose more than others. And I am still trying to figure out why you think men have thicker hair than women, in my experience it is the exact opposite.
Because I have seen plenty of guys with thick hair. They got lots of Native American bloodlines lol. You must be around balding anglos. IP: Logged |

Mine has grown past the shoulders. I have been wearing bun for more than a year and it seems to give me a headache and cause hair breakage. I just read that wearing buns for a long period of time might cause traction alopecia, so I'm going to ditch bun altogether. Not sure if I can pull off a ponytail. Wearing my hair down seems to suit me but I don't like wearing hair gel, and without hair gel you know what happens. IP: Logged |

Hair still long; was about 4 feet long; but It is shorter now but still at least 3 feet long. A lot fell out during bad fevers with Chicken Pox and Measles at age 58. So it is still growing back here as I am pushing 63. Still Auburn but mixed in with lots of white streaks now. And as I said in an earlier post; I really cannot figure out what people are going on about long hair being hard to take care of and requires hours of daily maintenance. Must be doing something wrong or sliming hair with gunk or too much conditioner or something. Long think hair is very easy to wash and dry! And is not hard to brush either. There is a trick to it. As to guys with long hair...YES YES YES! And women too! With rare exception; I generally dislike or even detest short hair on anyone! My husband cut his beautiful over 3 feet long hair when he was very ill and in intensive care and nearly died. He is growing it back but it is still way too short in my opinion. My son has at least 4 feet long hair. I have never met a so called effeminate man having long hair. In fact the shorter hair on men; seems to bring out more feminine behavior. The gay community seems to be heavily populated with very short to shaved headed guys more than the heterosexual guys or bi guys. It just seems to me that some; not all of course; men try to overcompensate and wear their hair short or shaved because they are indeed feminine and are trying to appear more he-man macho. Well guys; straight or gay; short hair does not make men look more masculine in my point of View! It is akin to a guy needing a big car to prove his manhood! Or the strutting overly macho acting men; I see that and think; you're trying to hard to convince folks you are not gay or fem; well dude you are hiding something I bet! Well anyhow........ I LOVE LONG HAIR ON MEN AND WOMEN! (with rare exceptions as I stated before.)

My scalp aches when I put my hair in a ponytail or a bun. Is it common? Reminds me of this joke : A Chinese couple had a black baby and they named it " Sum Ting Wong".Sum Ting Wong. IP: Logged |

I like men with long hair, but then again, I'm not exactly known for my popular opinions (notice: I'm not really known for anything).IP: Logged |

A portion(20-30....nah even more it seems) of my hair tangled up into a knot and broke when I was unwinding my hairtie. All of them lost few inches. Feels like mini death. And now that portion is basically standing out, I can spot it even in my shadow. Where's the emoticon for crying when you need it the most ?It's been an interesting journey. This is the first time I've let my my hair grow this long. I knew literally nothing about managing long hair at the start. I have never really liked combing my hair, well you don't need to comb short hair much, applying this to long hair made me look like a wildling. IP: Logged |

A while back, someone( who is a "hair-expert" actually) gave me an advice to scrub the scalp hard to get all the dirt and oil out I was wondering why I was losing too much hair in the shower these days. Bad, bad advice. IP: Logged |
