Now off to some greener pastures where someone doesn't insult women because he can't get one.

Word. And I'm off to those greener pastures where people don't pretend they're better than the people they just equally traded insults with.

Wow. You know how to keep a girl hooked and how to make her enjoy her coffee break!

You mean me?? I'm here one year only. Are you aware how many sexist posts by Aquaguy I had to read trying to read or take part in relationship/gender threads? I can't imagine the other people here! And the reason for his posts is the one I mentioned. He will find a girl, get married and disappear altogether from this site. That's my prediction, I'm a psychic But those posts stay here forever.

I found the rant about American vs European women extremely insulting, although I am an European woman. And its mere reason is the one I mentioned. My strong view is that if something goes wrong with our personal life, it's something we do wrong, our fault, not the fault of millions of other people.

How true, Ami Anne. It's been something that I've observed and been disappointed by for 14 years at this site.

I watch "Knowflakes" hurl juvenile insults at each other and wonder what they're doing at a "spiritual discussion forum". I watch them walk right past a dozen meaningful posts in their hurry to get to the Jerry Springer green room and join the Great Toilet Seat Debate.

Perhaps silliest of all is that they hijack my "random rambles" thread to do it, a thread that was meant to be semi-serious at its heaviest.

Believing that men (or women) go bonkers without sex is a silly old concept part of yuck patriarchal views. Both patriarchal and matriarchal views (one gender supremacy) are yuck and sexist. This idea, that sex is compulsory to stay healthy enables sexual objectification, one of the most hideous thingies that has been happening on this planet.

I agree with you. Both sexes need to feel loved (usually). In the book I mentioned elsewhere, it was said that married people tend to be healthier in general, and live longer, because there's the knowledge that someone has your back - they've pledged to always be there for you. That loyalty is what I used to experience in other relationships, but losing that, plus feeling unattractive, really hasn't been nice.

And the usual rubbish about American women not appreciating good men - the same "good men" who are salivating over someone too young for them, or wanting "their share" of hottie girlfriends, even if they aren't hot at all.

And in the spirit of "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all", I'm not going to give any opinion whatsoever of a certain watery dude's interjections.

I once heard about fights breaking out on a forum for Buddhist monks. I think that was a Mars-Uranus opposition in the sky.

Your comments about shallow women, seem to have segued into the AG conversation. It's more of a natural path, to me, even if it does happen in other threads.

That just sounds so weird. It's as if you're not happy people are commenting on your thread. It also makes me feel unwelcome, for my opinion was serious, not semi-serious

No, I say it because it's a medical fact.

Whatever. You are not a man and do not live in a man's body. Men need sex to be truly healthy and happy. The only exceptions are guys that are asexual. Your "medical facts" prove nothing. Lack of sex first affects men on a mental/emotional level and after a time starts to affect their physical health too because they neglect their physical health in their depression as people who are severely depressed almost always do. To deny that men need sex is asinine. Anyone who has the most basic understanding of men knows that men need sex. It's sad that I even have to explain this.

Hey Lee.

For a lot of these conversations, "whatever" is the best ending you can possibly get.

I don't think it's a uniquely Virgo-type thing.

It's sad that you don't bother to try to understand women. I'm depressed, I've never really been loved. Where's my man? The one who was supposed to love me, and be there for me for my whole life?

Men my age are generally chasing younger woman. And then they ***** about not getting them. Some ditch the women who have been devoted to them, and think they'll be together forever, in order to find a "newer model." I'm glad that not every man feels this way, but it's certainly prevalent out there.

Oh thanks!

ETA: Men our age seem very young to me, for the most part.

It's strange, though, I've never spent much time around 30-something men, so I can't say anything for sure. My closest friends are either older than me and/or in relationships with much older men. My one friend's boyfriend is 30 years older !!!

I've never been attracted to older men. I was annoyed when I tried online dating, and had men 50+ hitting on me, when I was 36. There were a few men my age, but most were the "I prefer someone younger" crowd.

Oh, that might put you at a disadvantage I guess? But my friend got divorced a few years ago, she's in her 40s, and her new man is younger and good looking.

There's hope. You're pretty and nice, and who wouldn't like you?

I'm glad I never had to do online dating...no way could I put across all my charisma and, um, gracefulness of movement (totally kidding) on an online dating site.

I wonder how you would reconcile this with the fact that you've just described exactly what I have gone through every single time I've attempted to remain celibate, with the fact that I am a woman. I've literally never succeeded at being celibate because sex is an emotional need for me and without it I quickly become very depressed.

And my best friend is the same way. She has a higher sex drive than her boyfriend. I don't, but only because it's hard to have a higher sex drive than a Scorpio.
