You and AG seriously creep me out sometimes. It makes me so sad to think of people being nice to him and he's just snarling inside about how fake and pathetic they are, when they only meant to be nice. Like the girls who compliment his accent, to be nice, and he's thinking this is just another reason to hate them. IP: Logged |

I'm just a firm believer in offering constructive and meaningful dialogue, and of course being respectful and mature by staying on topic. I also think happiness is what you make of it, some people love to take their misery out on others. Life is not perfect and certainly challenges arise along the way, but you can choose to make the world a better place by putting out good energy, or you can drag down others with you. I'm a fan of the former because it collectively takes everyone to make society more conductive for spiritual enlightenment. That goes back to empathy too though, those who are truly empathetic will extend the hand to all and not under conditional and narrow minded terms. You can always tell who the real empathetic people are, because they enhance the energy of people around them and truly aid in making others happy. This is another missing piece of the puzzle, as true empathy comes from dropping the ego and desiring to make the world a better place for all. IP: Logged |

I don't think everyone who is nice to me is fake. It's usually pretty easy to recognize who is really nice and friendly and who isnt based off of their actions. IP: Logged |

@BellaThat's great. I don't know why I'm here. Maybe I think if I am a watchdog over the thread, no more bad vibes can enter. But I have to go to sleep....

I do, too, although I shouldn't, because half of it will make me sick. I'll say that I'm only getting a few things, and then think of other things I like, or could make, as I'm rushing around the store, so those go into the cart. I was hoping to grow a lot of things in the garden, but mother nature decided to wait until late July, to give us the weather that I needed to do that. I can still try with a few things, though, like broccoli, lettuce, cauliflower, etc.

Ever since my progressed Sun moved into Gemini, I've felt different - although it coincided with things really getting bad at home, so that might be it. It's currently opposed my progressed moon in Sadge. IP: Logged |

Do you watch The Trews on YouTube Faith? If not, it's russell brands show (Monday,Wednesday, Friday) who I saw you like and he argues that the media really cultivate this dissatisfaction to encourage spending. IP: Logged |

Great quote elixir. Would you be terribly offended if I asked you to shrink that picture or find a smaller one? It expands the thread so I have to scroll back and forth to read. IP: Logged |

@teaselI'm convinced that life gets turbulent when the progressed sun switches signs, and people do change then. I've seen this so many times. @florence I love Russell Brand and used to watch the Trews more, before I entered this laid-back phase of life I'm talking about, where his fast talk just doesn't hit the same satisfying note. I don't pay much attention to the media so the dissatisfaction isn't coming from there in my case, though I see how it's hurting others. I just feel like regular American life is too demanding, pushy, and complicated.

I feel like people are selfish and self-entitled. Well, there's enough of then I should say. There are amazing people out there as well. Because of this people tear others down because it's somehow easier than building the self up. As people lie, cheat, and steal it causes businesses and such to look out themselves vs their customers. Insurance fraud for example. People looking for lawsuits. There's all kinds of scenarios. As the circle continues it causes more and more individuals, businesses, and government agencies to start looking out for themselves. The cycle continues. *Haven't read any other responses yet* IP: Logged |

Good points, DopGang.I guess the bureaucracy can be seen like a natural protective coating that accumulates on everything, trying to minimize the harm that selfish people can inflict on each other? But it's wearisome, dealing with all the negative assumptions that are worked into every establishment. I guess we all go down together. IP: Logged |

I'm an Aquarius stellium so the age of Aquarius is well suited to me. I don't think I would have been happy in any previous era. Happiness to me is doing stuff with friends, a busy social life, living in a vibrant city in the centre of things, having access to lots of culture and sort of being able to sample it all, a loving, long-term relationship with a fellow weirdo but not necessarily marriage and certainly not children, being able to go to concerts regularly, the internet so I can keep abreast of the news and pop culture... basically, all of the things that are accessible to me now but would not necessarily have been 40 years ago. So I can sympathize with people who feel stressed out by the modern era but I'd rather be stressed than bored, if I'm being honest.IP: Logged |

Jeb Bush recently said that the solution for America's economic woes is for people to work more hours! Lmao... The Politicians here are so out of touch with the people that it isn't even funny. This country is going down the crapper and I'm seriously considering moving elsewhere and giving up my U.S Citizenship.
I agree with this. Canada is a little better but only marginally. I really don't understand how Americans can work so many hours it's mind-boggling to me.

I actually used to wonder what the heck people did back in the day until I got into Woody Allen movies. I can see that they did a lot of reading of books and at parties they would discuss the ideas espoused in this book, or that. And then of course there's all the drinking and dancing and cocaine characteristic of the 70's . Maybe I could have had a good time in that era, too, not sure. Not even going to comment on the 60's or earlier. I think it goes without saying that everyone who wasn't white was not happy at that time, for obvious reasons. So of course to ask such a question we have to take for granted that everyone in North America was white... which wasn't the case.IP: Logged |

I do agree and I believe it has some direct relation to many crimes. Even violent crimes in cases because people have less and less time to spend doing things that they enjoy and more stress from spending time at stressful jobs only to keep their basic needs met. Eventually the nut has to crack and who knows what happens when it does. I don't think it's any coincidence that we have more mass shootings and etc. One of the first highly publicized ones was in the 80's I believe from a very stressed postal worker. Who did the shooting at work. Hence the saying, "going postal". People need better benefits, more vacation. Things that are healthy for their state of being. Spending time with their families. I think the country would be astonished at the positive results. Even their work performance would improve. I know I'm more prepared and positive feeling after a nice break from it all. IP: Logged |

@Aquacheeka~I've never lived in a city. When I was a teenager my friends and I would take the trains to Philadelphia and hang out on South Street, a kind of bohemian-hippie hot spot. Those are great memories...not sure if I could LIVE there but visiting was a blast. And without email, cell phones, or the internet I guess we might've gotten together more often than people in the following generations? I grew up next door to my best friend and we would sit outside if we were bored and people would come visit. We went to different high schools so a variety of people came and sometimes there was like a party on the driveway between our houses, just from people swinging by to see what was going on. Good times. ETA: Life was more innocent back then and we had freedoms that modern children/teens do not have, because it's a more dangerous world now, or is perceived to be.
