hmmmm...I find this thread to be very interesting...especially what Clair19 said about water signs in the ascendant..sun or moon leading to wieght problems...I have a pices moon and Ascendant....and I suffer(ed) from Anorexia since I was 13 years old...I'm now 28. Would be interesting to see if my chart placements have any indication to this...don't know why I've never asked about that before. After my bouts with anorexia..I've basically kept my weight that I was in high school...115-117 lbs at 5'3" But as far as the meat thing...I stopped eating red meat a long time ago...I have IBS and protein was always hard for me to digest...causes a lot of distress...I eat chicken once a week...but I mostly stick with vegetables...and I'll eat eggs...they don't seem to bother me...but beef...and pork..really bother me.
Fish and other seafood are fine though. I've been recently trying to stay away from white bread/flour/rice/sugar and i'm gradually getting into soy milk but the fat content freaks me out a bit. IP: Logged |

Hi all, First let me say what a joy it is to find this wonderful haven! I hope to spend more time here, getting to know some of you.I realize this thread is a little old, I hope you don't mind me reviving it, but I have many questions about the color diet I'm hoping some of you can help me with, especially Randall, as you seem to have such extensive knowledge of all things related to Linda. I'm sure there are others who also do, I just haven't had a chance to become aquainted with your posts yet! Also, I hope no one mind's bluntness--it's impossible for me to be otherwise, with 3 planets in Aries, 3 in Cap, and Pluto in the first house! I've struggled with the weight issue all my life...and recently I dragged out Star Signs, to become reaquainted with Linda's numerology, and I also was drawn to re-read the color diet. So...I got myself all the supplies, including the red bulbs (found several sites on the web where you do not have to buy them in bulk), red sunglasses, great red pitchers at the dollar store for water (hold lots!), everything! And I started on Sunday, 5 days ago. One of the posters here said that in 45 days, she lost only 10 pounds. Whew. That seems to be so little, unless all she needed to lose was the 10. Linda implies in the book that the weight will literally melt off, and I have not experienced that yet. Nor have I experienced the...ahem...frequent trips to the bathroom. In fact, this rich food has me somewhat constipated. And 10 pounds in 45 days sounds disheartening to me...that's much much slower than Linda implies (she assures more instant results, watching those pants start to fit better in days!). May I ask others of their personal results? I have been very faithful to this program. Even made my own mayo, to avoid the sugar in the commercial brands! I normally take a supplemental tincture for women, very good stuff, and I didn't take it for a few days, as it is a brownish color, but, I really really needed it, so I have started taking it again. It is only about a teaspoon a day, and it keeps your hormones balanced. Someone mentioned that white flour is now permissible, please confirm, is this true? It would make dining out so much easier, just order the pizza! Another poster said you need be only 80% faithful to the colors...but how can this be so? Linda is adamant in her book that if you stray from the proper colors, you will not lose weight. I am generally mostly vegan ( a little dairy here and there, some seafood on rare occassions), and this rich food is making me tired. And it sort of terrifies me. In theory, I agree, calories are just heat measurements...but, I can't help it, I am always afraid of gaining weight. And frankly, if I don't see some results very soon, I will likely go back to my more normal eating habits. This is why I would like some specific help from the fine folks here, please. Nutrition...there are literally thousands of books on nutrition, and many of them are in complete disagreement. Different things work for different people, throw most of those books out the door. I'm not looking for the Holy Grail...just a rainbow miracle! I want this to work...but I think my pants were tighter today... ...I know you are going to say well, you have to believe in it. But,that's kind of a cop-out, isn't it? If it's a miracle, and you put everything into it and do believe in it and still find your pants are snug...well, there is a flaw somewhere. I do not intend any disrespect, especially to the work of Linda Goodman. She's been a big influence in my life since I was just a little girl and found her Sun Signs in the library! I'm just trying to find some answers/help. Many many thanks to you all. IP: Logged |

Welcome to Lindaland! Doubt short-circuits magick. Forty-five days is such a short time. Instead of thinking about "what if," why not go at it with faithful expectation for a month and a half and just let the results come as they may? ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Oh Randall, thank you for the sweet thought, and I do understand what you mean about doubt...but there is no doubt that my jeans are tighter. And 45 days is a lonnnnng time, if you're gaining weight you don't need.Maybe there is no panacea that fits all people the same way. I was very excited to begin the color diet...I do believe in miracles...but after a few days of noticing that no, the pants weren't looser, they were tighter, and there were rolls that didn't belong...how could I not doubt? Linda's miracle promised quick reinforcement, which I have not received...perhaps as a sign that this is not right for me. I'm going to have to find another way, or just make peace with myself as I am, which is the wise thing to do. George Costanza: "Remember, it's not a lie, if you believe it!" IP: Logged |

Seinfeld is my fave show. Watch the reruns several times each week. Often, the Rainbow Diet causes weight gain at first, and then loss, and then gain, before permanent weight loss kicks in (usually in the last three weeks). That's why Linda says not to weigh yourself. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Thanks for your replies, Randall, I appreciate your time... ...but, does Linda say this in the book? That weight gain happens first, then loss, etc.? I don't recall that at all, but I do have the book and will try to make time to look that up this weekend. If she neglects to say that, well...hmm, dont' know what to think about that. And I haven't noticed anyone else posting to that effect, though you may have had private conversations with those who have noticed this happen to them. Any insight is welcome...I decided to go it on my own again, because I just can't bear to have my jeans get tighter...but if there is reasonable indication that gain happens only to herald in loss, I will reconsider giving this a try.But let me also note that the food on the plumpie side, the red and white food, made me feel awful. I love dairy, but I really don't think it's good for us humans. We're not made to digest it well...it's a food that is meant to fatten baby cows! I was terribly constipated. But I was willing to give it a try, if it's what my body needed, and I had a terrible headache the entire week, felt tired, moody, irritable. And let's face it, if you take the dairy away from that program, there's not much left that is appealing. So I am left not knowing what to think. I am both pragmatic and spiritual, which is not a contradiction in terms when one has three planets in Aries, three in Cap, Leo rising with Pluto in Virgo in the first house! LOL! Best wishes and thanks for all your consideration. Trillian IP: Logged |

I've heard about the Rainbow Diet from others through e-mails. And for some (for whatever reason) it didn't work at all. I'm sure you could get by with no dairy. Once again, it's only a short while for permanent results. Linda mentions the weight gain/loss fluctuation in her Star Notes. You have to understand that publishers often butchered her books. She was very vocal against her publishers in Star Notes. If the Rainbow Diet doesn't feel right for you, there are other diets out there (like the Atkins Diet). ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Randall, let me thank you so much for your continued input...I will think deeply about this and try to find the right answer for me. Atkins is out--I won't eat dead creatures. But yes, there are other programs, and I would very much like to believe there is a permanent cure, such as the Rainbow program (prefer program to diet...as Linda pointed out, it contains the word DIE).Her Star Notes, are they published? I am much intrigued and would like to read them! I hope you don't think I was argumentative in a combative way...just can't help myself sometimes! LOL Again, I thank you so much. Randall, I want to thank you again for your continued input...and, I've been thinking about this a lot, and feel that perhaps I was a bit precipitous. Especially in light of your shared knowledge that Linda says an initial gain is natural (which is definitely not included in Star Signs). I'm having some difficulty deciding what to do, but will do my best to meditate on this dilemma and reach a quick decision. The moon will be in Taurus soon, which should be a good time to re-start (very committed!), if I decide this is right for me.If there is any other insight you have of Linda's, I would certainly appreciate it. I do want to believe in miracles, hers in particular, it would be very important to me. And of course, a dream come true! You've been very graciuos and I thank you again. I know this is a subject that has been covered before, but any continued insight is so very welcome. IP: Logged |

Yes, there is a string in Free-for-all called DOOZY REVEALED. Linda may have had it taken out by the publisher or maybe it was an oversight, but there is definitely initial weight gain, and using scales is a strict no-no. Linda was in constant battle with editors and publishers who insisted upon changing her words and leaving out information. In fact, the woman in the Moon wasn't Linda's actual pic! Hers was more true to what we see, but the publisher threw in a "better" looking pic. I guess we are very lucky that they left in Linda's hand drawings in Gooberz. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Hello everybody, I wanted to share my experience about the colour diet with you. I only started it this Monday and I have lost almost 3 pounds. Unfortunately my bulb blew up so I have to start all over again next week. I live in England and I really struggled to find the desk lamp and the bulb but I found this site where you can order it: "http://www.bltdirect.co.uk/cat506_1.htm" - according to Linda you should get 75-100 watts but they don't do them so I bought the 60 watt one but kept it at 1 foot away from my skin rather than 2. The feeling is really good - gives you energy and warmth and after a few days you feel your body cleansing out. For the Mars music I used The White Stripes but also bought the John Philip Sousa marches (which Linda says are the best), which you can find on the Amazon.com from $2.73: "http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005Y8AI/qid=1085777871/sr=1-6/ref=sr_1_6/002-4120715-3618466?v=glance&s=music". Just stick to it and see what it does for you. I can't wait for my new bulbs and to start again, I want to see what happens after 45 days and will share my experience with you. Be patient and good luck! IP: Logged |
