I don't think she meant pizza and crisps by red and yellow though (because white flour, salt, sugar, milk, a lot of hidden white stuff is rather harmful, so are fried foods)...more tomatoes and squash probably... I take a lot of green things personally, but in Winter foods like pumpkin soup and baked potatoes make more sense...IP: Logged |

I kinda figured that one But I'm talking about the red light and the mars music with the water and all that. It sounds really intresting in the book, but I'm a little afraid of trying it. Also does anyone know if it affects your blood pressure in a bad way?? All input is welcome. tootles, missy IP: Logged |

I wouldn't wear red if I had high blood pressure...or fever for that matter. Rather grey. I wear red when I feel cold and weak. I wear blue or black when I'm dehydrated. I used to wear a lot of purple when I was not feeling well. Green corresponds to the liver and the gallbladder or if you feel angry, bitter. Yellow has to do with the stomach, the spleen and the pancreas.IP: Logged |

Yeah, Ive tried it. And it does work. its just really slooooww. I went on another website to ask for advice on it, and through some discussion, we figured out that you can do the diet for more than 63 days. The digits for the amount of days you try it just have to equal 9. Like 108, 72, or whatever. Dont be scared of it. Its harmless and fun. But make sure you have at least two bulbs handy. I quit the diet cuz my bulb blew up. I havent tried it again due to a lack of motivation resulting from depression. But i think im going to start it as a new years resolution. well see.About the mars music thing, you only have to worry about it if you actually already have blood pressure problems. If you dont, its really nothing to worry about. Its a pretty fun way to start the day, to listen to fast music. But make sure its music that you like. I used indian dance music and rock. And dont listen to the same music everyday or youll get really annoyed, make a couple of mixes. It sucks to get up in the morning and listen to music youre sick of. And stay away from soybean oil! And you dont have to follow the diet every second. Like, if youre at party, then eat the cake, you know? You just have to watch about 80% of the foods you eat. Its really easy after a while. I totally recommend it. Just dont get discouraged if it doesnt work the first 5 weeks. For some ppl it doesnt work for a couple of months. And it is so slow sometimes that you dont even realize youre losing weight, especially since you cant use scales. But once you do realize youre losing weight, its freakin awesome! And its fun to laugh at all the stupid diet freaks out there who are too close minded to accept truth. Neha IP: Logged |

I am a new member; I am excited about discussing Linda's work! I also am curious about the color diet. Do any of you know where to get the products needed for the plumpie color diet? Thanks so much.Your Friend, taurustar27 IP: Logged |

You can find the glasses at walmart or someplace like that. I just saw a bunch of red glasses at a grocery store. The bulbs are hard to find. If you live in a small town, look up the atlanta light bulb company on yahoo and get there number. You can call them and ask them for one. Or just look at a lighting supply store wherever you are. As for the music, just listen to any dance music or any music with heavy drums. Nirvana, hole, offspring and any kind of fast hip hop and dance music usually work. I couldnt afford to buy those cds Linda Goodman recommended, so I just made a mix of fast songs from my own music. good luck.IP: Logged |

I just sent this is as a new topic not having noticed it was already on here. I too want to know more about the diet for plumpies. I have no problem with trying it, but I can only try it for apx. 45 days in a row. Then I don't know when I can start it again. Can you do it for only say 5 days at a time skip 2 days and start again with positive results. Or does skipping a couple days throw everything off. I haven't been able to find a red opaque light bulb. Can I paint one?IP: Logged |

I'm interested, too....just a thought...does it only work because the list of foods you can eat is small? I wouldn't mind losing five or ten pounds! ------------------ we are everyday angels IP: Logged |

Ive completely changed my mind about this whole diet thing. Ive been thinking about it a lot lately, and it really doesnt seem to work. It seems to be another diet masked as an "aura diet". As I look back, I realized that I had not really lost any weight. I felt better because I thought I was doing something about the weight, not because I had actually lost the weight. Ive looked at many websites, and I havent heard one success story that doesn't involve exercise and cutting down on sugar and fats, etc. Since my last post, I have actually started the Atkins protein diet, which is actually effective. I now regret being so naive towards the aura diet. NehaIP: Logged |

Diet: The usual food and drink of a person or animal. The only diet that will cause an overweight person to lose weight is a healthy one... I think a *diet* that we *go on* and can't *stay on* is a *gimmick* and any weight loss is short lived once we *go off* and return to our past eating habits. To maintain a healthy body weight for anyone ONLY requires having a diet rich in natural foods ... in as close to their natural state as palletable Exercise... However *few* calories we eat, if we don't *burn them* we will gain weight ~Princess ------------------ "I think the Goddess lives in our humanity, and not anywhere else." ~Merlin's last words - to Viviann ~ . + * + . * . I agree with Linda that calories are a myth. It's only our conditioned belief in them that causes weight gain (or loss, for that matter). Nobody ever told whales that plankton has almost no calories, so they go right on eating and staying large! ------------------ "It is never too late to become what you might have been." Neha~ I admire you for re-evaluating the diet's effectiveness. It's so easy to be drawn in to a quick fix! Don't worry about it, it happens to the best of us. I think the best remedy is something for *life* that is sensible. And for all those who've added those five extra Winter pounds (myself included), it will probably go away when Spring comes and we become more active. Remember, Spring *always* comes. ------------------ we are everyday angels IP: Logged |

She also talked about the protein myth. No one would argue that gorillas are not strong, yet they eat very little protein. ------------------ "It is never too late to become what you might have been." George Eliot IP: Logged |

Calories are just a measurement of heat. How can a measure of something cause anything? A yardstick doesn't make us taller. The real culprit is our programmed belief in calories, much in the way our belief in the yardstick of time causes us to age, when the number of sunsets and sunrises we see actually have nothing to do with aging. The sooner we can forget calories, the sooner we can mentally create the body we want without dieting. ------------------ "It is never too late to become what you might have been." I think metabolism fits in there somewhere. As strange as it sounds, I hear that where you put on weight indicates high or low metabolism. Around the hips, thighs, and buttocks indicates a low metabolism. Around the middle actually indicates too high of a metabolism, which can cause weight gain just as easily as too low of a metabolism. The only difference is the distribution of the fat. Also, obesity is linked with malnutrition. The body stores fat as a survival mechanism and as a reaction to a lack of adequate nutrients. ------------------ "It is never too late to become what you might have been." George Eliot IP: Logged |
