Just saw your reply;
so a quick response and will check in later.
Did you see my comment added above about my hair?
OK....
No Mercury poisoning.
However;
I must have Mercury fillings.
The resin types do not hold.
May try and get metal/but will need to be checked for gold etc. allergy and whether Medicaid will pay for it all.
Sigh;
poverty does not allow for the costly purchase of much fish and or shrimp.
Consume such only a few times a year at best.
So no, not an issue here with Mercury;
but will ask the Immunologist/Allergic,
with whom I have n appointment with in December to check for Mercury etc
Oh yes!
I always get the Flu shot and am due for a new Pneumonia shot.
After the horrid flu with 14 fever back several years ago,
no way do I avoid the shot.
I have also had the Shingles shot.
OK, must go for sure now.
Have had to do too many corrections to this post,
so bye for the moment.
Later!

...heavy metals always bioaccumulate in the brain

Replied to the above in my previous post,

Copper deficiency symptoms include anemia, bone disorders, defective spinal cord, hair greying and hair becoming fine and straight, losing its curl, infertility; weak connective tissue as evidenced by heart problems such as enlarged heart, weak aorta with holes and ruptures, aneurisms, varicose veins, wrinkling skin, and hernias. Copper deficiency greatly increases the lipid peroxidation of lipoproteins and cardiovascular tissue. It causes high cholesterol levels, and heart attack victims have low copper levels in the heart.

As for your Vit D3 levels (25-OHD) :
"In order to live well, a person needs to maintain between 40 and 60 nanograms per milliliter (ng/ml) of vitamin D, according to several prominent sources. This is considered the "optimal" range at which a majority of chronic diseases can be prevented or avoided. But many people fall far short of this, due in large part to misguided government recommendations that might be effective at stopping a pandemic of rickets but won't protect against diseases like multiple sclerosis and cancer."

I was very deficient in D3.
My D3 levels are perfect; as I do take up to supplements of 5,000IU daily depending on sun exposure, by doctor's orders,
I do not tan and sunburn terribly easy;
hence not much sun exposure.
He had me at first on 10,000IUs a day.
My copper levels usually strangely run HIGH at times and never low.
I will get levels rechecked and zinc levels too.
Thank you again for all the advice you have given,

It is better, but probably need to have it checked again.
In a nutshell;
diet is most likely the main culprit and the drinking water.
quote:
A common source of ingested copper comes from our drinking water supplies which run through copper piping, particularly in areas where the water is soft and acidic, as this corrodes layers of copper from the pipes releasing it into drinking water.

Hello All,

Lexxigramer,

We are all over the place with concern because there is so much going on with you. And that "so much going on? rang a bell with me: did your doctor ever rule out hypothyroidism? Oftentimes, the doctors focus so much on the particulars that the 20/20 vision needed to see the big picture of a situation can be obscured. This is not a diagnosis. It is just an observation.

Removing toxic metals sounds like it would help. Have you tried activated charcoal?

I was on total replacement Thyroid for some 10 years and then an idiot Dr.took me off of it and I gained over 200 pounds.
I have since lost 150 pounds.
My thyroid was right on the line of too low and lowest possible normal
On a scale of 1 to 12 being normal;
mine runs 1 or less;
but they refuse to put me back on the Thyroid.
So here I am decades later living with a blah Thyroid.

Have used astragalus and alfalfa.
No sign they were helping.
And...
Being in poverty I simply cannot afford all the vitamins and other otc meds and alternatives medicine.

Lexxi... find out from your pharmacist or doctor whether you are taking any drugs that interact badly with replacement thyroid. That would be the ONLY logical thing I could think of regarding their refusal to supplement you.

I also read another post you did in LLC2.0.

Is there a way you can get your husband's very-wealthy relatives to kick in 'just a little more food/grocery money' for you? That they could electronically replenish a gift-card for using at your major-chain grocery store?

Maybe they would be willing to pay for you to have a large bag of frozen shrimp once a month--- that would be excellent food to feed your thyroid gland. Would boost it. ....

{{It just pains me that you're going through all this }}

Have you and your husband ever considered setting up a Go Fund Me site for yourselves?

The holidays are coming, and sometimes folks who want to do end of year charitable giving go with extra money to those sites, read people's stories, and give to their needs or a cause.

Maybe you could list yourselves with request to receive food and vitamins through a local Angel Tree project at your grocery store??

Maybe they can have a jar or basket for you, asking for a certain vitamin you are needing? Sometimes there are buy one get one free and they could give the 'free' one to YOU and your husband?

Nope.
Absolutely no interactions.
However they ALL (doctors)
follow the damn chart of what is considered normal, and even though mine runs very low;
it is still on the normal chart.

One already sends us food and the food pantries/soup kitchen,, and the 3 free produce days a month all help too.
We could not make it without such help.
As it is we have several grand in credit debt used to buy groceries, food, household. hygiene, out of pocket medical etc stuff

Hmmmmmm his relatives are not wealthy...just normal I suppose/middle class.
May I ask why you think they are wealthy?

We get them when they do the buy one get one free sales.
Also we do not take them unless blood work shows a need.
Those are also on the bottom of list for needs, and so not going to just experiment.
Too many other things need bought first or repaired etc,

Oh good about the pantries that give you extra food. (Sorry, I didn't notice that you had already stated that.)

ref The wealthy in-laws.... from a very ancient conversation we had at the beginning of my appearance here at LL. I hold this image in my head of you and hubby on a front porch, and I thought you had said they were.
My mistake, sorry. But heck, in comparison to the two of you?? maybe all of that wasn't too far off, after all? ... oh my.

My thyroid tends to run low also, and at the last dosage adjustment, she said they wanted my thyroid to work HARDER for me-- they lowered the dosage. My thyroid gets tight and swelled up during periods of time when it's TRYING to work itself.

I've been a slim kind of person for the past 15 years? ... When she adjusted it DOWN, I picked up 10 pounds more than I want to be weighing right now, and it bothers me because I'm not used to it yet. Sometimes they want you to have a few reserve-extra on your body incase of surgeries and illnesses when you're older.

It must be some of the new specs they're using? ... I was told that if your thyroid runs too high, then, that could add to increase chance of heart-attacks? Makes your heart run harder than it needs to.

LOL yeah lots of folks seem rich by comparison. I had some wealthy ones years back but not any longer.
And oh my....the front porch is all boarded up decayed, what is left after it mostly fell off in 2002.
