What exactly do you mean by Venus in hard aspect to Saturn usually fail? I have Venus square Saturn and Moon conjunct Saturn with someone. Me being the Saturn person I do really care about them. I understand that Saturn in hard aspects to Venus can make the Venus person feel unloved. But I always tell the Venus person how much I love and care for them. So I don't understand why people are always saying this aspect is so bad.

I'm glad you removed yourself from the situation. Sounds like you have enough to deal with. You don't need that negativity in your life. I hope everything goes well with your surgery I will keep you in my prayers.

Child of Venus It could be that you just handle your Saturn energy very well. Also, these interpretations tend to be more about romantic relationships than platonic ones. We tend to demand more from our romantic partners than our friends so the dark side of aspects come out more easily in a romantic partnership.

I personally hate saturn square aspects. My father's Saturn Squared many of my planets and I grew up feeling awful around him. When I grew old enough to go out on my own I shunned him from my life. It's been almost 15 years since I've seen him about 11 since I've spoken to him. Do not miss the guy one iota and feel very happy to be rid of him.

Saturn square moon: Very difficult aspect for the moon. In tight orbs this alone can be enough to make a relationship hard even if everything else in the chart is great.

Saturn square venus: Venus feels unliked and unloved by Saturn generally. My dad squared my venus and he told me he loved me all the time. I didn't believe him then and I don't now. Actions speak louder than words and he would be very critical of me for no reason... then he'd tell me he loved me. That didn't sit well with me. Telling someone you love them doesn't negate how you're making them feel the rest of the time.

Saturn square mars: Mars shows where our ambitions lie. Saturn is about control. The saturn person will often try to sabotage or derail the goals of the Mars person because Saturn wants to control the mars person. If Mars wants to go to college, Saturn will 'forget' to mail in Mars's application. If Mars needs to be at an investor's meeting at 4 m Saturn will tell Mars they can't go or they'll 'forget' to pick them up for the meeting on time. The Saturn person may be doing these things consciously or subconsciously but in the end the result is the same. Terrible aspect to have in a relationship especially if the Mars person is very ambitious. They will have a more difficult time succeeding in life as long as the Saturn person is in it.

Saturn square Mercury: Saturn may call Mercury stupid straight out or they may just disapprove of their way of thinking in general.

Overall I think the first three aspects above are probably the worst in Synastry. I especially try to avoid Saturn square moon and Saturn square mars. I don't think Saturn sq Venus FEELS as bad as those other two, but it's still not great and few romantic relationships last with that one despite it.

I get what you mean but I would think that my actions actually show I care. Being as though at times I help this person financially. Of course I know money isn't everything. I really hope the Venus person doesn't feel unliked by me because that's really not the case for me. I'll admit that sometimes I can be critical towards them. But I always think about it afterwards and I do apologize. (Sometimes I'll even say to them If I am making you feel a certain way I apologize). If anything I would love if the Venus person was more expressive emotionally and in regards to love. I try to think of ways to reassure them that I care for them. I do have Venus square Saturn in my own chart so this could be why I'm not so cold towards them. They have Venus sextile Saturn in their own chart. I have Moon conjunct Saturn with them as well glad it's not the square. My dad's Saturn square my Mars and I completely understand what you mean I do feel as though he tries to restrict me. And sometimes I wish he wasn't apart of my life or that I would feel better if he wasn't. We don't really communicate either we have no Mercury contacts in synastry.

Over the last couple weeks I have checked a lot of the charts of people who are married/been together for a long time...

There is at least, one, if not more, hard synastry aspects from Saturn...

ALSO, in all my close friendships/best friends... there are hard Saturn aspects too... like with my best girl friend for the last 14 years... my Saturn is opp her Venus and Mars (where here Saturn is conj my Venus, trine my ASC and sextile my Mars).

I guess the square would be worse than the opposition in regards to hard Saturn aspects?

Does it make a difference if you have Moon conjunction Saturn with someone and both are in the same sign? Like my Saturn is in Sag and the person moon is also in Sag?

First, lets understand that Saturn in ANY aspect will create a bond and longevity if given the chance. the hell of Saturn in a a difficult aspect is that it will create a strong bond and longevity DESPITE the fact that it creates unhappiness in a relationship. My longest relationship had only Saturn square aspects, but it was a very trying relationship for me. Everyone else around us thought we were the ideal couple though because they didn't know what was really going on behind closed doors. It lasted a decade.

So there's no argument at all that Saturn in hard aspect would be found in long term relationships. The point is that Saturn will often make a relationship last even when it really SHOULD NOT last. If someone's Saturn is tightly squaring your moon and mars and not positively aspecting anything else then the relationship is unfortunately likely to last longer than it should.

You mentioned a Venus/Saturn opposition but that's not the same as a square. There are some interpretations that claim this opposition is mostly good in a relationship. Not as good as the easier aspects, but still pretty good. Venus and Saturn work very well together. In Vedic astrology too, these planets are considered great friends. So any aspect between them even hard ones are going to be easier to deal with than say- Saturn/Mars.

Conjunctions are called "hard aspects" but by hard what they really mean is POTENT. Not necessarily negative. Squares, Conjunctions and Oppositions are much more potent in energy than sextiles and trines.

Nothing is set in stone because one must look at the whole chart and not just a couple of aspects to see how Saturn's energy's will work in a relationship. But in my own general opinion- Saturn conjunctions can either be great or terrible in a relationship depending on other factors in the chart. Saturn squares are generally terrible and the worse part is they still promote longevity. Saturn trines are generally fantastic as they give you both the longevity AND the safety and comfort. Saturn oppositions are a mix of both good/bad and many sources say if it's opposite to Venus it's actually mostly good.

I haven't mentioned Saturn square Sun because I'm not sure about this one. I've seen this aspect in many long term married couples as well, but there's usually other positive saturn aspects to downplay it, or lots of Jupiter.

Thanks for the reply I've read that the conjunction is usually stronger than the square in synasty. Because the conjunction is like the blending of both energies. I have Sun square Saturn with someone in synastry but the orb is wide. About 8 degrees would this still count? Do composite aspects downplay synasty aspects? Like if I had a Venus/Jupiter aspect with someone in composite. But hard Venus/Saturn or Sun/Saturn aspects in synasty.

I have the most annoying Saturn synastry with a guy who I simply can't remove from my life.

His Mars-MC-Saturn-Pluto conjunct my Ascendant-Uranus, square my Venus. He can be intolerable. Interestingly I have the exact same planetary set up with my Moon as he does with his Venus and he has the same situation with his Moon as I have with my Venus.

The synchronicities are endless, both astrologically and in real life too.

All I can say is that I definitely don't doubt his love for me. Sure he gets it wrong and hurts me, but when it counts he's always there and even when it doesn't count. He's still there.

We'll probably end up together, as despite all of the karma and issues we've had (and there have been a multitude) it's bonded us together in this life now too. Nobody else lights me up like that, or pushes me to better myself and always just knows what's right for me! It's like we're never quite happy with each other's flaws, but not in an unforgiving way, in a way that's made us much better, stronger, happier people overall.

I thought I'd ended it, but there is no end and truth is without such strong aspects life is dull, and empty. Why not be with the person who makes you work to be the best person you can be?

That's what Saturn aspects do! Although I must say I avoid Mars-Saturn aspects like the plague I loathe them. Possibly my Venus in Capricorn, being squared by Saturn in Libra (i.e. mutual reception) is a bit more loving than other configurations.

That's interesting are you saying that he has a Mars, MC, Saturn and Pluto conjunction? And that it conjuncts your ASC-Uranus conjunction and squares your Venus? What if you met someone and had this same aspect with them? Or met someone who you had more easy or more Saturn aspects with? What I'm asking is can meeting someone else who you have the same aspects with change the way you feel about the first person who you share the aspects with?

Interesting question ChildofVenus and my answer would be, no.

The way I look at it; synastry only plays out once you are involved in somebody's life. A passing acquaintance who you have very strong connections chart-wise with, may never be anything in your life.

Like-wise this same chart synastry could exist between people from different lifestyles, backgrounds and friend groups and so the overlap is less profound.

There definitely is something else which comes into play, as I didn't just meet this guy, he was brought into my life one day and there was no escape. There wasn't a chance to walk away (god knows I've tried enough times) so there is something more profound at play.

If these aspects were all trines, perhaps that would be lovely, but I suppose I should mentioned that his stellium does form trines to all of the rest of the planets in my chart. My chart is set up so that Saturn squares are inevitable in one way or the other and I'd prefer them to be from gentle, supportive Libra planets and from a man whose demons are no stranger to my own. :-)

What Rosalind is saying isn’t wrong. She’s stating the overall truth of the aspect so what if it’s negative truth is truth and before you launch the “ why does your truth have to be your truth only then” argument , Can’t get mad because she’s staying the truth of what Saturn contacts put you through. I’ve seen these aspects play out in real life she speakin facts.

Everything is subjective because everyone isn't the same. It depends on how the Saturn person uses their Saturn. Having an understanding of the aspect helps a lot. There are both good and bad things about every aspect it isn't always bad.

I just discovered that my stepfather has his Saturn conjunct my ASC and square my 6-planet Capricorn stellium!
I don’t see him as often anymore since he and my mother divorced but he raised me like his own child when I was around 5-16. He was the sweetest, most loving and caring man and I loved him SO much, more than my biological father! We had an amazing relationship! He cared for me, cooked for me, spent time with me, played with me… He was not discipinarian, strict, controlling or whatever..
I don’t get all that saturn hate TBH.

The man I loved the most in my life has his Saturn conjunct my stellium (mars, venus, sun, mercury, uranus, neptune btw).
We both cared for each other so much. He was was always sweet and protective. I still appreciate and respect him so much! Since we also had some 8H, plutonic and moon-mars aspects, passion was there as well.

I have saturn aspects with many people I have the deepest and closest bonds with! I like Saturn’s devotion and concern.

Maybe I can deal with and appreciate Saturn more than other people because of my own cap placements??

I have it with this w/ guy I know. Funny that we would get closer too as he is going through his Saturn return

My Saturn also conjuncts his Neptune and Uranus

I had a lot of Saturn synastry with an old co worker. Mostly positive.

I feel like Saturn in relationships can bring a sense of loyalty.

In my experience the saturn person feels an obligation to the planet person, and the planet person reacts positively or negatively, depending on the aspect. Examples: My ex had his saturn conjunct my venus-mars conjunction. At first it was great, having someone so loyal next to me,ready to support my choices etc. But I started wanting to get away from him at some point. I felt like he was keeping me back in life.
My current boyfriend,my saturn is trine his venus,I like supporting him and being there for him and I feel like he likes it too. I feel like I will always be there for him. It's really hard to leave him, even with the differences we have, and they are many.

I recommend everyone on this forum to check the long lasting - forever type relationships of famous couples. Just google long lasting couples and then search for their sysnastry...

You will be suprised how many of them have moon square saturn, venus square saturn, sun square saturn, mercury square saturn... sun opposite saturn...

It all depends... natal charts matter when reading synastries..

I and my best friend - 35 years very very close ! her Saturn is opposing my sun and mercury... I am a Capricorn ( Sun, Mercury, Venus, Asc ) So I cam deal with her Saturn. Even though sometimes I feel restricted, most of the times I find her limits, teachings useful, beneficial... She is so valuable to me...

I had an affair lasted 9,5 years. His Saturn opposed my Venus ( I have it nataly ) and My Saturn trined his Venus ( he has it nataly )

We had many great aspects...

He did not want to commit but did not want to loose me either. But he hurt me so badly...

The only aspect I have not seen in long lasting couples is Saturn opposite Venus but my friends who have been married it for 10 years have it. I can see how it is manifesting but they are doing alright.
