It's actually a Group Read, but you can start at any point. We are almost at Canto Thirteen, but you can talk about any of them.

My thanks Virgo Rising! (I wish I had a planet in Virgo, perhaps I would be a little bit better at finding the correct forums with a helping hand from vibrations of the "distant" Vulcan!)
Once again, A BIG APPLAUSE to Randall for starting such a thread, you're a very special EARTHLING (lex HEAR THE RING) Randall!
I'm currently studying canto 18 (I still need to get to the "bottom" (lex TOMB? ) of that canto, but then again you would expect that from a Scorpio Sun, Mercury, Venus - with Scorpio rising!)
You can definetly count on my input in your GOOBERZ reading thread!

About 4 years ago I started paying atention to Astrolagy. The first book on it I picked up for my self was "The only astrolgy book youl ever need", After picking up afew more I realized that wasnt at all true!- "LOVE SIGNS" was the first Linda book I read. The acuracy of if {especialy for its purpases}, compared to no other I had come acrost yet. Not to mention how she continualy explained that the individuals other aspects could make for diferent kind of Scorpio girl, thus making a different balence of Scorpio-Sagitareus relation ship.- She would often even give an example of what aspect in one their charts could cause the difference.

That book still amazes me. Since then Ive come across many other generalizing Astrology books. None quite compare that Ive read to this date.

STAR SIGNS is my favorite. Not to mention the one that changed my life and afected me for the better! In fact excluding the first time I read THE HOBBIT and THE LORD OF THE RINGS{around 10 earth years old}, no book has had a bigger influence on my life.

Now I have SUN SIGNS, GOOBERS, and RELATION SHIP SIGNS as well. I love them all.

By the the way. If I had to pick a runer up {as far as generlizing astrolagy books go} my next choice of auther would be Susan White. Especialy her "THE NEW ASTROLOGY" book. Chinees astrology may not be as in depth as Western. But I still admire its different points of veiw it gave me. Me being birthed in the year of the Goat would be a different explenation for how my Pisces moon makes me more emotional and pasionate Aqaraus.

the first astrology book i read was star signs when i was 15...i cannot put into words how it changed my life...it made a very big impression on me, i thought that Linda possess a very original style of writing, simple, straightforward with a genuine warmth that seems to radiate from the pages, to me what seems so different between her writings and other astrologer's is the way she talks to the reader as though she is on the same level as them, i have read other astrology books and they appear pretentious with a kind of scholarly air if you know what i mean.....

to put it in a few words, i believe Linda made astrology interesting and accessible to people who thought it is only for the 'learned'....i wonder what you guys think about Linda's books compare to other astrologer's such as Jan Spiller etc.....

and just to prove how popular Linda's ideas are, the star sign book i found in the library had some pages torn out of the numerology chapter

i didnt get to read those missing pages till 3 years later when i found another star signs book which i bought this time

Randal-No problem. After all I have to give credit where its deserved. And she more than any other auther{of all sorts} I know has earned it.

I wouldnt be surprised if her books are still aclaimed 1000 earthyears from now.- Well into the Aqerian age.

My 1st... Sun Signs
Biggest impact... Star Signs.
In her true to form written words she was able with ease to open galaxies for me. I was up at all hours reading, and re-reading that thing! She put in my head the final nod that she was not only funny and a wonderful astrologer, but also a briliant woman. I felt as if I were reading a diary, all the wisdom, and insight. I love it! I miss her.

The first book I ever read was "Love Signs". It was very interesting how i found it too. I was walking through a book store in New York looking for a book in Marketing actually, when I stopped at a table with many books about astrology. As I stood there Linda's book just called out to me. I took it and began to read, and what I read there completely took my breath away. At that time I was going through a really rough time with my husband, and I didn't know which way to turn, so I started to read our compatabilities and the more I read the more I cried. Everything she wrote there was exactly how it has happened between us, how we met and how we felt about each other, everything. That's when I realized that I have to change my life around completely. Linda gave me the strength to stend up for myself and make the decision of leaving him. And I have to say that it is wonderful that Linda wrote all those books and shared her knowledge with all of us.

And also I wanted to say thank you to those who started this site and who keep it alive. Its a great place, so thanks guys!

The first Linda book I read was Star Signs. And I just loved it soo much! It made me feel so good inside. it opened a window for me to explore, a window that overlooked a beautiful world of secrets. I found the book last year in my freshman year of college and at a time when I was very depressed and felt hopeless. I wasn't doing very good in my classes and so this one evening I went to my public library to just sit there and stared at the ceiling for like an hour. then I just got up and walked to the occult section to see if I could find any book to inspire. I've looked that small section over tons of times. I know which book is where and the library usually doesn't really add any new ones to that section. well anyway, i found Linda Goodman's Star Signs all the way at the bottom of the shelf and something just made me pick it up. i don't tend to read books that look like a very thick nonfiction book but this one just attracted me somehow. Well I bought it, brought it home, and read it. It was like this book was meant for me. I've always felt that I was lead to the book for some reason. it was balm to my soul and I said goodbye to my depression for a while. Now whenever I'm upset, i read her book and in only a few minutes i'm back to happy. i'm also interested in trying out everything Linda writes about in the book sometime in the future when I don't have to worry about My beloved family getting upset with me.
Well lets go back to happy mode, that was too black and white.

The first book I read was also Linda's Star Signs. I was studying in Australia then, and I was living with a psychic family. I learned a lot from them, too. Anyway, one day, the hostess of the family went shopping and picked up star signs from the sales box for me. ANd that's how I got started. In retrospect, I think she might not even know what the book was about. The whole thing is just another one of those "co-incidental" gifts that I got from the universe!

I read "Sun Signs" first when i was just a little squirt.

I was actually in grammar school and it was in my school library!! I had read some astrology before (anyone remember those big huge books-a book for each sign-earth sign books were brown, fire sign books were red, etc etc...anyone know what I'm talking about?) And I found the only astrology book in the library in a section it wasn't supposed to be in. I took my birthday money and on our semi-annual trip to the mall, I bought it in the book store. Then later after I had saturated Sun Signs, I somehow discovered Love Signs.

Star signs was the book that changed everything. My whole attitude. I had moved to Mississippi and was miserable with my new husband, and Star Signs kind of saved me. I awaited anxiously for Gooberz and it did finally manifest. As will Twelfth Night Secrets!! I go to the bookstore regularly and look for it. It will be there any day now, I just know it!!!

My first was love signs, and I couldn't beleive how it was so accurate- I felt like Linda was writing about me and others I knew, it was uncanny. I said to myself, " is this for real!" I was 15!

the first book that i ever read written by Linda was Relationship signs
i have always been interested in astrology but never before i was so much convinced about its validity..
that book helped me alot , i made my compatibility charts with many close friends and found a great deal of truth there ,,,n many lessons too..
the 2nd book that i read (am still reading!) is star signs...i got this one by chance only because here in pakistan , such books are not available easily...
n so far this is my favourite book...it really had me thinking ... i am still reading and learning from it...n yes , i read that chapter ..an apple a day and i am going to check in surgery ward records what she said about not going through surgery of an organ if moon is in its ruling planet(hope u got wht i meant here!) and so i guess there is atleast one doctor to be who will have some insight on this matter!
and the book that i really want to get now is love signs ...dont know where to get it from in pakistan.. ..

The first Linda Goodman book I read was Sun Signs as a kid, my Mother's. I was hooked! I loved her style of writing; making the reader feel as though she were speaking just to them personally, and bringing Astrology to LIFE. When Love Signs came out I grabbed a copy and poured over it for hours on end; I couldn't put it down, and I remember not wanting to do much else BUT read it for awhile, lol.

Star Signs took me to new levels of understanding, showing me things I always "sensed" about the universe but couldn't articulate. This book clarified and expanded my thinking; it had a "turning point" effect on my spiritual quest, altering the way I perceive LIFE in general. It's just overflowing with wisdom.

Gooberz...ah yes. This one touched my soul. Indeed, I saw myself on those pages, and was moved to tears so often that sometimes I had to put it down for awhile and "recover"... then pick it up again when I felt I could handle it. Each time I read it I get something else from it, depending on what's going on in my life; it's layers and layers deep!

BTW, I also have Relationship Signs and liked it well enough, but for relationship info I prefer Love Signs. I enjoy so much reading the different combinations, plus I read for my Moon and Rising signs as well.

My favorite? A toss up between Star Signs and Gooberz. I wouldn't want to be without either of them, and am on the second copies of both.

What an you are sweetpeas

My first and without a doubt most favorite is Star Signs. (although I am yet to read Gooberz).

I found the tattered and worn copy of my mums when I was approx 16. It taught me many things about life and I have read it at least once a year since then as I pick up extra things each time I read it. (as with all of Linda's books)

So many things reached out and touched me when I was reading Star Signs.

Firstly, one sentence that made me REALLY think about becomaing a vegetarian about loving our aniaml brothers and sisters. Also helping me to show friends and family when and when not to undergo an operation. I also realised a doctors word is never final and we needn't die or suffer just because they say so. Oh, if only they would become enlightend to this!

An explanation of ghosts that I resonated with and helped me to understand certain things.

Star Signs helped me to work out where I stood with my karma and how I should work my life to eliminate any bad karma. That in itself taught me the greatest lesson in un-conditional love.

Lexigrams, Numerology and Astrology for my lifes guidance. I am still working on the learning of Astrology

And the immortality chapter for me to contemplate and consider.

I could write a book on how this book changed my life and the above is the briefest possible summary of how Linda has helped me become the person I am today.

Linda has bought my life magic and love beyond anything I could ever imagine.

Twin~
I can relate with what you said about putting Gooberz down until you think you can handle it!
I have just read past the part where she thought he was trying to reach her astrally....
Where she was having such a hard time forgiving him...her gosh my heart is just breaking, as I am also a person who has a hard time forgiving !!
What a beautiful gift this book is that Linda has given to each and everyone of us !!
