Pix, I wonder about the flys too. Nothing is sacred around them and just what is their purpose? I guess my thought here is when someone posts something that sets my hair on fire & I feel that knee jerk reaction, I know if I respond in like ,I`ve put myself at the very level of communication I`m burning about in the first place .For me, that diminishs my thought process and hampers my ability to communicate without judgement. juniperb ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

That is exactly why I love reading your posts, because you are wise. You really do live like that.. and are honest about it. That is a trait I truly appreciate in you. While I would love to live by that kind of perspective.. I do share the sentiment, maybe one day.... Maybe I am still too young to give up all my handfulls to get my point across. IP: Logged |

I don't mean to cause trouble but how can you justify deleting someones words to someone else which yes were harsh but well meant, and not delete a massive thread describing various sexual acts which anyone can read ? I'm talking about "Sextrology Turn Ons" which was similar to porn ! Yet someone can't tell someone else that they are a snob ? IP: Logged |

Hi tahariel, you didn`t cause any trouble. It just gave us a chance to talk about the issue on a deeper level. To compare the Sextrology string to this discussion is like comparing , well, oranges and hyacinths While the other string may be offensive to some, it isn`t an outburst directed to a particular person that may hurt them. You are affected by the other string by finding it offensive or distasteful and thats a personal moral stance. No harm intended to the reader. When one lashs out at another, thats personal and is intended to hurt or at the minimum, make them angrier . Then the circle goes around and around with no resolution. I`m not defending or supporting the Sextrology string, but sharing my opinion on the differences between the 2 and why I feel this way. If anyone finds posts extremely offensive, they may always e mail the mod of that particular forum and share their concerns. The mods name @ linda-goodman.com. Thank you for sharing your concerns juniperb ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

Personal insults are NEVER allowed under any circumstance. The Sextrology string is offensive to me as well (and I deleted some of the links and a very offensive word), but juggling free expression and good taste is a very thin line to walk. We do the best we can. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." When I accepted this moderator position, I thought long and hard about my "job description" so as not to find myself in a position of abusing my new found powers. Ok, "powers" is an over-the-top word, and indeedy I am inclined to delusions of grandeur ... but I'm working on it. What I then decided was that all posts, no matter how heated or dis-tasteful, are encouraged except in one instance. I don't think this forum is the place for any one person to say anything directly negative to another person. If you feel you have to say it, use e-mail. Not this forum. Now, it is very true that the original post was not particularly nasty or vile or evil. But it was negative, and it was specifically directed at someone. I reviewed the thread, wondering if there was a deeper issue (ie what AquaVenus said in his/her prior posts). I saw nothing that was both negative and directed specifically at anyone. Therefore, without much fanfare or speach, I deleted pixelpixie's post (btw, I love that nic). Pixelpixie, you are correct. We've never exchanged dialogue (sp?). I don't know you at all well. And as such, I currently have no sense of your character for good or bad. All I know of you, really, is that you don't like what I did, and that makes you perfectly normal. To all ... post and talk about everything under the sun. Be empassioned. Let the fire burn in what you say and type. Disagree or agree violently. But don't cross personal lines and so Jack is stupid for his ideas and the way he expresse them; or Jill is an elitist for hers and the way she expresses hers; or that Grasshopper is a snob. Well, ok ... you can make fun of me ... I need to be brought down to earth now and then. ------------------ "The reason why birds can fly and man cannot is simply that they have perfect faith; for to have faith is to have wings." ~JM Barrie IP: Logged |

Thank you for addressing me~ and explaining yourself and your motivation. Nice to meet you. The original postee was on another thread (free-for-all) and the concensus was 'troublemaker'... in the perspective of devil's advocate or not... so to see her doing the same thing here made me want to call a duck a b*tch.. oh, I mean a duck. Don't delete me, it's a joke!!! I do that!!! Ask anyone!! So, I am certainly not happy that my words weren't respected, but I do understand your motivation.. as I suppose I was personally provokng. But I didn't want some 'duck' playing on my playground, disturbing my peeps. * and might I add, pooping all over things* So, whatever that makes me, so be it. I have never been a bully.. I have always just been someone who stands up for myself and others. Now at least you have some of the story.IP: Logged |

You know Randall, you're right. This is a privately owned and operated forum and you can censore anyone, anytime. It's your house. If we don't like it we can move out. My surprise was that anyone here would say anything someone else would deem worthy of censorship. Censorship just seems so extreme. It's hard to believe it would be needed in this lovely place.grasshopper ~ I've been reading pixel's posts for a few months now and we have shared dialogue once or twice. She is oftentimes quite to the point and occasionally .. um .. shall we say .. risque. But never have I seen her post anything I would classify as mean. Please bear in mind that this is coming from a libra-rising type who prefers polite restrained speech. pixelpixie, I think you're cool beans. IP: Logged |

I've learnt a valuable lesson here...I don't ever want to be a moderator !! To have to play judge ? Hm, think I'd rather be one of the kiddies in the playgroud rather than the teacher. And we never did find out who is immortal ! Methinks that if I ever want to find evidence, it'll come in the form of me saying to my mum when she's 80 "I told you so" with all my young skin ! tahariel, yer right! I`ve worked in the sun all my life and my skin needs pampered to defeat the aging look. My mom was anti sun and had the nicest skin & looked years younger. What are you pampering yourself with? juniperb ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

I do my skin a favour and stay in all day ! Never sunbathe and only come out at night ! I do sunbathe on holidays which I go on rarely, and only go out of the house during the day about 3 times a week. Partly cause of the rays, partly cause sunlight hurts my eyes. I think I might get into the whole orange facial care thing ! I'm not yet sure if I want to be immortal but good skin care makes good sense !IP: Logged |

I saw the post. It semed to come out of nowhere, responding to something in another forum and not carrying on the thought processes in this one. Sextrology, the little I saw of it, was FUN. You could have many more pictures and animations and not lose the P.G. rating. Obviously a forum for adults is needed. One adult thread does not make a porn site. People who want to get their minds around huge concepts like immortality need to start thinking outside the box. All boxes.IP: Logged |

The original post that I had written here, that was deleted? Is that what you are referring to, Maklhouf? I don't wish to go into it.. and yes it did involve other forums, in which the person acted the exact way as they did in this forum, which is the one I as originally referring to. I just voiced it. This topic is dead now, it has been resolved. PLease don't get my back up again, as I don't wish to have to defend myself anymore. MOVE ON.I agree that there should be a thread for sexuality, as it is an inherent part of life... and it will keep rearing up elsewhere anyway.. (cuz we're drrrrty) So it needs a home. But, ah, whateva. IP: Logged |

It's not about getting at you. It is about discussing what to put in and leave out. That is an ongoing discussion------------------

Hey, folks ... going to start another thread in this forum all about ... err, whatever it is we've started talking about. We now return to the regularly scheduled "would immortals please stand up." maklhoufSo would you like your children reading the sextrology thread ? Personally I found it quite graphic, it was interesting but for a respected forum I don't think it should have gone without a warning before reading. Call me a prude but I found it more way more offensive that the deleted post. IP: Logged |

It is inappropriate on a site that openly caters to young teens. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Don't mean to talk over anyone, or not shut up about it, but hey, I didn't bring it up again, I am only responding....The warning was the title... "SEXtrology through the signs" If you don't want to read about 'sex'~ trology ... um... don't open the thread!

There probably should be an Experiencing Physical Oneness site because sex is natural and spiritual and all of that good stuff. And not a place to talk dirty either, though I am sure some people would not be able to help themselves (not excluding myself ). Anyway, I am sure that people would have "valid" questions and comments and it wouldn't be a big dirty deal at all. There is more to be said about that but sometime later I suppose.IP: Logged |

The problem is the expliciteness in which it is discussed, and we do have a responsibility to protect the children on the site. This is a family site, so everyone should be able to express feelings and ideas and still exercise tact. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." pixelpixie, I wasn't making an issue about being offended, I disagreed with this point;"You could have many more pictures and animations and not lose the P.G. rating." Do you not think young people are gonna see it and open it out of curiosity ? The conversation on that is ended, I respect everyone else's beliefs so now you can all respect mine IP: Logged |
