59
How long, how long in infinite pursuit
Of This and That endeavor and dispute?
Better be merry with the fruitful grape
Than sadden after none, or bitter, fruit.
60
You know, my friends, with what a brave carouse
I made a second marriage in my house;
Divorced old barren reason from my bed,
And took the daughter of the vine to spouse.
61
For 'is' and 'is-not' though with rule and line,
And 'up-and-down' by logic I define,
Of all that one should care to fathom, I
Was never deep in anything but - Wine.
64
The grape that can with logic absolute
The two-and-seventy jarring sects confute:
The subtle alchemist that in a trice
Life's leaden metal into gold transmute.
66
But leave the wise to wrangle, and with me
The quarrel of the universe let be:
And in some corner of the hubbub coucht,
Make game of that which makes as much of thee.

(-Omar, "The Ruba'iyat")

It's just that when I see the images and read some of the posts here, I get a sense of blasphemy. Is that wrong of me?
I don't know whether it's right or wrong the sense I get.

I do have a sense of humour about a lot of things, but when it comes to religion, I am the last person to see the joke!

MOST people are the last to see the joke regarding religion.. I think the point is ~ not judging right from wrong.. it's not for me to say...whatever works for you, trust your feelings.....
But.. the little thing that stands out for me with this, is that the people who we talk to virtually every day really think it is in our character to just seriously be malicious with something so sensitive???

That it would even be looked at in such a way was disturbing to me. I am no Pope, but I am also no horrible demon either.... I think if some people sasid the things we said/did, I can honestly see how it would be a raising eyebrows type thing... but don't you see it is a joke... a lighthearted thing.... that just snowballed into something that I was shocked warrented such a reaction.

Pix - I beleive you.

You are too wonderful to try and hurt someone intentionally and too intuitive not to know your friends well.

I know your posts have helped me a lot over time.
