Hello, my lovelies....Thanks for all the well wishes..I am home from my surgery. I can still talk- just very quietly. My throat incision is sensitive, but hey- the surgeon didn't sever my vocal cords, so all is good. The right half of my neck is numb up to my jaw, but hopefully that will heal itself. I think I surprised the nurses because I started walking around on my own about 6 hours out of surgery. This morning I was so impatient to leave I was stumbling all over the hospital dragging my IV cart with me. Right now I still feel like a hunchback because I can't completely stand up straight. Add to that the white stripes of surgical tape over my throat scar, and children are going to start screaming at my approach... "mommmmmie!! its a monster!!!" HAH. I will find out in a week if I have cancer (i am pretty sure I don't) and it will take about 3 weeks to determine if the remaining part of my thyroid still works. They ended up taking the isthmus out too (the middle part- imagine a butterfly--- they cut out the right wing and the body) so its a 50/50 chance I will have to take meds. Right now I just wish I could wash my hair. Love,

I will spiritually wash your hair.There.. mmmmmmmmmmm.. smells like vanilla! You are wonderful! I am so glad you came on over here all bandaged up to tell us about your surgery.. I know I was concerned and sending you happy thoughts. PS.. you'd look like less of a monster if you took those infernal screw things out of the side of your neck. Also.. walk with grace.. when you stick your hands straight out and moan you do look a little monsterish. But those two things.. you know, tweak them, and i swear no one will notice!
Oh... and must you bandage your entire body?

A spiritual hair washing is all I can handle right now--- even if someone could wash it, I can't bend my d@mn neck...i guess I can take a shower tomorrow.. funny, pix.....  All I can think about are those characters in Beetlejuice (movie) where they have had their heads cut off and then sewn back on in the afterlife? is it in that movie?
every time I smoke a cigarrette (yes, i know i know this would be the perfect time to quit) I think of the scene where some female dead secretary is smoking and its coming from the stitches on her neck. so i keep looking down (not that i can move my neck) to see hypothetical smoke coming out... whew- general aneathesia REALLY messes with your head for awhile....
