LOL Yes, you guys are all fast I am going to have get a stop watch to time the fastest on the draw. LOL Riddles are lateral thinking and you described the process of that, Lexx. Riddles lead you to think one way, trick is you have to think all other possible ways to solve them. But I am amazed at how fast the thinking is on this thread. You both got it right, YFIS and Lexx. An orchestra at a dance. ( or prom or party ) Let's see who gets this one the fastest hee hee: Continue the series: o t t f f s s _ _ _

That took all of 2 minutes. LOL Awesome, Lexx A frog fell into a hole that was 14 1/2 feet deep. He could jump 3 feet, but he slid back a foot each time he jumped. How many jumps does it take him to get out of the hole? IP: Logged |

LOL @ the froggie in the well, YFISI think due to his tenacity he must have been a Taurus froggie. He never gave up and that is also why I haven't cried uncle yet. LOL Yes that's right YFIS and Lexx. It is just as you described it, Lexx Answer: 7. The frog advances 2 feet with each jump, but he jumps 3 feet, so the 7th jump, starting at 12 feet, brings him to 15 feet, which takes him out of the hole. Okay now sleep on this one: There was a green house. Inside the green house there was a white house Inside the white house there was a red house. Inside the red house there were lots of babies. What was it?

Yep that is it! How did I get it? Well I figured it was a trick question somehow. I mean...houses WITHIN "houses"???????? So first clue..it was not "houses"! Soooo I begain pondering "layers" instead, and those Russian stacking/nesting dolls came to mind...you know, a doll within a doll getting smaller and smaller. http://russian-crafts.com/nest/history.html And it hit me..... A house is a cubical thing. Sooooo....if it is not a "house" And a house being cubical/rectangular... Maybe these "houses" are spherical!? As I imaged the green, white, red, with something inside..lots of things, small..... I realized what the nestled sphere layer withing each sphere looked like! If the riddle had stated brown or black babies it would have been easier. But that was a clue by omission because the houses' colors were given but not the "babies"! Except maybe as opposite of white=black...like the green and the red. A WATERMELON! IP: Logged |

Right, the answer is watermelon. Vwry good, YFIS and Lexx. I thought that it would be a little more difficult to guess, AG Okay another one: With pointed fangs it sits in wait, With piercing force its doles out fate, Over bloodless victims proclaiming its might, Eternally joining in a single bite. What am I?

Hey, that is a cool trick. You got the answer right. YFIS and Lexx. He used the remainder to spell out the number NINE. Okay I am toughing up here on these riddles. Just pretend that I am the king in this riddle and you are the sages. LMAO This one is bit longer and I think, a bit more challenging. Remember your head is at stake here. The Sage's Hat The three wisest sages in the land were brought before the king to see which of them were worthy to become the king's advisor. After passing many tests of cunning and invention, they were pitted against each other in a final battle of the wits. Led blind-folded into a small room, the sages were seated around a small wooden table as the king described the test for them. "Upon each of your heads I have placed a hat. Now you are either wearing a blue hat or a white hat. All I will tell you is this- at least one of you is wearing a blue hat. There may be only one blue hat and two white hats, there may be two blue hats and one white hat, or there may be three blue hats. But you may be certain that there are not three white hats." "I will shortly remove your blind folds, and the test will begin. The first to correctly announce the colour of his hat shall be my advisor. Be warned however, he who guesses wrongly shall be beheaded. If not one of you answers within the hour, you will be sent home and I will seek elsewhere for wisdom." With that, the king uncovered the sages' eyes and sat in the corner and waited. One sage looked around and saw that his competitors each were wearing blue hats. From the look in their eyes he could see their thoughts were the same as his, "What is the colour of my hat?" For what seemed like hours no one spoke. Finally he stood up and said, "The colour of the hat I am wearing is . . ." IP: Logged |

The hat is "B L U E"Mirandee, your clue was worth more to this puzzle than the Kings. You said: Remember Your Head Is At Stake Here. Signifying, the dead seriousness of this situation... The Kings only clue was that there was one Blue Hat... As they each knew for certain there was one blue hat but not for certain, how many white hats may be seen... Every sage knew then that there was not just one blue hat by simply looking! The Kings clue no longer valid in the least. If any of the sages had seen two white hats surely they would have spoke on thier own behalf exclaiming that they themselves wore a blue one. These were wise sages were talking about! The silence for so long is the key to this. As is the seriousness of making a wrong decision! . ------------------ Sendin' love your way, "your friend in spirit"

The sage who answered figured that everyone was just staring silently at each other not freaking, because they all must have blue hats. Each would see two blue hats, but only the sage who answered had finally gotten suspicious because the other two were not getting anxious; and were deadpanning bluffing. So the answer is: blue PS. I should start doing what you do YFIS. Post my answer..then explain! While I am off writing out my explanation, instead of posting the answer first, like you do...you post the answer! IP: Logged |

yah, this was the first time I chose to do it this way as I realised it would take me awhile to explain it.Notice that I put "Still editing to explain..." after the answer... This also was to be considerate of others who may not have "got it" yet. This one was really good Mirandee! ------------------ Sendin' love your way, "your friend in spirit" IP: Logged |
