LEXX,

Time to power-down, robocop.

And go snuggle with your hunky boy-toy.

Oh my!
Hit a nerve there boyo?
Now you insult me and my husband.
WTF has my relationship to do with the topic of this thread?
He is not a hunky toy-boy.
And the robocop reference...insulting my psychic ability to boot...and was something I shared Privately with you.
That was all very rude and totally uncalled for.
quote:
Talk about DENIAL.

I don't believe anything you say.

How is that?

Better?

Or you want more of my thoughts?

I'd hate to be evasive.

Are you stoned or what?
What has that to do with the topic of this thread or the question.....
ARE YOU A VEGETARIAN?
Why are you evading a question very relevant to the topic of this thread?

Go play with yourself.

PS. FINALLY I SEE YOU ANSWERED THE QUESTION
Were the head games really that much fun for you? And the PERSONAL INSULTS?

I'm not evading.

Look on page 1.

I answered while you were ranting.

And I did it because I wanted to.

This thread isn't about me.

No matter how badly you want it to be.

Now, set phasers to stun, or leave me alone.

thank you

Of course you hit a nerve.

You are being very rude.

And if you say more mean sh-t,
I'll say anything I can think of
to hit your nerves right back.

Respect.

Thank you for answering me directly, HSC

Some of my best friends have been trying to be vegetarians for the past 15 years and keep 'slipping' and feel terrible about it.
I want to relate; I do, to an extent. I just keep falling behind because I'm seriously addicted to the stuff.
I eat it every two weeks or so, but I need it bloody.
It ain't pretty.
It might be an iron deficiency but I am not sure - I have taken iron pills and they make me sick.
I have tried substitutes with other food and it doesn't help. I need it dripping - I've been known to eat raw meat out of the bag with stray cats following me for scraps.

Very unladylike behavior on my part

Anyway....I guess it's a lifestyle choice.
I need to finish reading 'Fast Food Nation'.

I have not been rude.
But you sure have been.
And.....
If you have any remaining decency, you would apologize for insulting my husband and my relationship with him.
Why you even said what you said was totally out of line and unrelated to this thread.

And threats now?
WTF dude?
I said nothing mean.
But you sure did for no reason!

I was talking about this thread right now, HSC.
I was not talking about other threads, to answer your question.

I'd noticed things, yes; but I was specifically speaking of this one. So thank you for being direct with me.

I was never anything but direct with you, MVM.

I'm am very impulsive and energized right now,
and, I confess, I only skimmed your post at first,
and responded to the first few things you said.

Your tone seemed confrontational to me,
so I just responed to a few things quickly,
in order to make a few important points.

I apologize if I read something into your post.
If you were just trying to have a dialogue, that's great.

LOL

Yeah, I don't know what to tell you.
I think there must be information out there,
for people with your condition.

I'm not sure what the answer is.
If you can afford it, though, I think,
the least you could try to do is to
buy meat that comes from humane facilities.

MVM,

oh, okay...

I just looked back at page 1

You wrote right after my first resply to LEXX. My "b".

Looks to me like you were impatient and rude.

You didnt get a response to your huge post right away,
and you proceeded to use confrontational language.

Maybe I am still misunderstanding something?

For the record, if there is one, aww actually pass me the record ...riiippp

Vegetarianism is like what Confucious would have said if he was me...a debilitating condition for some, and a worthy adversary/advocate for those who need sustenance from cranial jet streams of abusive bolderdash towards those who still prefer to eat meat, ORRR...a perfectly brilliant way of practising conservation.

As far as cruelty to animals go, remember how not one bird dies without the most high's say-so? then same, the cruelty is a journey towards awareness of the condition of all sentient beings, however not all sentient beings are necessarily predisposed at this point in time to set meat aside. The distress of cruelty is for the one who wishes to see, it is up to him to acknowledge the profundity of the event not to warn, cajole and disgrace others. They are operating under their dharma - perhaps the accusers, the ones who would like others to experience the depth of the cruelty portrayed, and be eternally sorry and converted - yes perhaps the accusers need to attend to their dharma instead of brandishing a sword at others.

Well maybe anyway. *shrugs*

As much as I wanted to contribute on this thread...you HSC have decided to personally attack me repeatedly.
If you do not want me to ask YOU questions on this thread....just say so.
However I find it unreasonable and unfair.
And am not going to stop replying to others...only you, if that is what you want.

Why you chose to throw in personal insults makes no sense to me.
And that last post is just toooo weird.

quote:
LEXX,

It is rude...

But I did not direct it to anyone.

Your husband is a figment of your imagination.

Very creeepy dude.

Edit to add:
Well this explains alot, from the closed thread where HSC was attempting to justify his attacks towards me and my relationship on this thread.

quote:
Maybe I am just jealous of the happiness you have found?
I cannot deny that a devoted partner is something I ache for daily.

Well well.
The truth comes out.
Soooooo
Your jealousy makes it justifiable to personally insult and attack me on this thread and attempt drive me from it?
Again...a very creepy...and quite immature sick attitude.
Not a spiritual or evolved type of reaction. And totally uncalled for.

Chryseis,

I think I misread you.

Let me try this again...

So... what you are saying is that
we should not try to provoke others
into greater awareness and compassion?

That I am being rude, and I should wait for them
to realize that what they are doing is pure evil????????

Am I understanding you clearly??

No interventions necessary?

That is your position, yes?

Just let the holocaust go on, day after day?

And as long as I do my best not to take part in it myself,
then, hey, who cares what other people are doing?

No. I disagree.

Someone has to speak up
for those who cannot speak,
and those who are being silenced.

I am here to provoke insight.

I'm sorry if that reflects poorly on me,
and if everyone sees me as the bad guy now,
or thinks I'm up on my high horse, or whatever.

That comes with the job. I know that.

I have to speak out on whatever
I am thinking and feeling at any moment.

Tonight, I am thinking and feeling about these animals.

And what monstrous, absolutely MONSTROUS things
are being done to them, for the sake of your palate.

LOVE and LIGHT

I used to work on the farm at Christmas. A couple of the girls ate turkey sandwiches for lunch, right after helping the farmer slaughter and prepare the birds.

Prefer a cheese and pickle sandwich myself for most occasions.

Sorry, carry on.

I watched a couple of goats being taken to the slaughter by Mr 23's grandpa for food. Yep it was terribly sad, I'll never forget the distress but I still eat meat. BTW I didn't eat their steaks.

Here's the counter-argument:

I haven't read what most of what was said here but I did read a bit of MVM's post because it was one of the first and ditto her again. At the end of the day, we are predators. We are animals. Our NATURAL diet is to have meat in it and in moderation, it is good for your health. You may say that higher consciousness demands us not to eat meat and that it is cruel to eat but I see it as putting things to good use. Other animals would happily gorge on us if we happen to be in their way.

HSC, with the greatest of respect, you live in the first world and you can CHOOSE to not eat meat. Maybe it is higher consciousness and genuine empathy, maybe it is sheer human arrogance to say that you are above all other animals and don't need to eat meat like other animals and thus want to differentiate. If you were starving in another part of the world or in a freezing part of the world, you WOULD eat meat and clothe yourself in fur to SURVIVE.

EDIT - I presume from your first post that you are a Vegan or Vegetarian.

damn I missed the first post, HSC, please please purty pease put it up...oh whatever

Um i can see I'm going to have to take notes on your post but just now i'll put in an attempt and try again later maybe.

If you wish to do as you do then feel free, I am simply saying that the reaction you are trying to obtain from others comes across as interfering. If you think interfering is your job then go ahead.

Not a man alive knows the conditions of another's existence - you have quoted similar to this yourself as you attempt to defend some of your outrageous posts and twisting, and might I say, seemingly hypocritical stances.

I can see that you might also learn by what others divulge - without any of us knowing the ultimate perspective we can hardly profess supreme authority. It is probably thrilling to gain insights into others motivations and raison d'etre. I find it thrilling to watch, sometimes sickening too but nevertheless often a good show, thank you for the hours of entertainment.

Personally, I think if people are after support for something that they think is worthwhile, those people will collect more fans by living by those principles if they are successful ones rather than battering others over the head with guilt trips, shocks and clever wording. That kind of acquisition is hollow and transitory I believe.

If you're into Jesus's stuff then he admonished people for being too concerned with dietary rules and what they ate, and said something to the effect of they'd be better to apply themselves to what came out of their mouths then what went in.

It's an easy way out to think you are provoking others into better choices and treatment of animals maybe you would catch more flies if you set up a market stall and served delicious vegan ecosound dishes rather than giving people ulcers just trying to give a credible account of their ideas.

Sure cruelty is intolerable, but then who are you to judge the meaning of these times. Finding something is inconceivable to continue is one thing - assaulting others with your emphatic dramatics will hardly promote peace. I guess you will bring up Ghandi, and I guess also that a lot of changes for the 'better' have been made by people who are fairly ropeable with passion. For this I have no answer, but I will say I heard Ghandi's wife was apparently very unhappy.

Animals deserve to be treated well, it is silly to misuse living creatures, however people do a lot of silly things and some of these other things harm and are cruel to others.

I'm not attacking you but am considering your position and returning my own assumptions.

Some people have indicated on other posts that they think the same happens with having a succession of sex partners *shrugs*

~ edit: this post was in response to the edited post directly above. From memory it had something to do with: how people can end up contracting something off the parts of the swine they are scoffing down *shrugs again*

I already stated before. There are people in the world who cannot eat vegetarian for health reasons. That is fact. Adrenal fatigue and thyroid problems, for instance. In adrenal fatigue, in fact, tendency towards vegetarianism is a symptom of the problem and exacerbates it.

There are also people in this world who cannot eat free range because they are too poor to afford it. Especially right now with this recession. I respect people who save $100 on their groceries to be able to afford shelter. Homelessness and poverty is not something to strive for.
