Oh! My caladiums are poking up in their pots. YaY

I went to take some pics and my batteries are dead. Now I will have to wait until we go back to the city. Poop.

The windchime sounds so cool. Nice to splurge on something like that every so often.

Go cadladiums go! I forgot you are not in season, totally up there yet.

Took a couple more today, close up. I just love the Purslanes. How their "leaves" are more like succulant plants. They seem like a hardy little plant. I have an orangy-pink one too, but it was closed up when I went to take pics.

Purdy Purslane

Princess Lilies

I'll continue to add to this thread as time goes on.

Love, love love taking photos of flowers.

Purdy indeed. I am not familiar with that Purslane at all. Purslane here is a invasive creeper weed that is difficult to knock down. It feels succulent .

Time to google

Hummers love it! Bummer is the flowers close when it`s cloudy. 3 days of clouds and they sleep for 3 days.

Mixed snow and rain today. Bummer

I noticed my caladium shoots are looking spindly with the long overcast days so I dug out my grow lights. Hopefully they will perk up.

I`m disappointed because I wanted to show you my moss roses. They are on my old hard drive . I planted them in a rather barren dry and sunny spot by the drive way around a granite boulder. Mixed colors, doubles and singles. They reseed beautifully too.

Yeah, bummer!

Well you are getting closer and closer to true springtime when you wont have to worry about that anymore!

I was looking at photos of moss roses and they are very pretty! Lots of different varieties.

I'm looking forward to my poppies coming up. One of my faves.

It's finally raining here!!! We have been in drought conditions for like over 3 or 4 months. I can't remember the last time it rained really good. & I'm loving this right now.

It started pouring last night and has been all day today. I think it's supposed to keep raining for the next couple of days. I missed the sound of thunder!!!

It's a nice change from the constant blazing sun too. Nice and dark and wet today. Didnt realize how much i loved the sound of rain.

I'm sure nature is enjoying the soaking as well.

We can only stand one day of snow here at a time, which is all we get. It's pretty for a day or so.

No, I don't miss the snow one bit. It's actually the main reason why i moved. I am not a winter person at all.

I do miss being able to wear my winter clothes, jackets, scarves etc. though.

We're having a bit of a cold spell here right now - high 70's It's nice. Supposed to get into the lower 70's over the next few days too. yeehaw!

I like snow; it`s the cold that goes with it I dislike

I`ve been to FL and GA in winter and it`s a dream!

Yeah, the snow was sometimes pretty, but i didnt like the slush and messiness and lack of sunlight and just plain dreariness. But yes, the extreme cold was the worst part of it all. I couldnt get used to it. I lived on the coast up north at one point for almost a whole winter and boy! that wind that came off the ocean!! Holy crap was it biting and uncomfortable. ...painful actually. Made me miss the south. I do miss the north during the other seasons - absolutely beautiful, and not to mention northerners in general. Good people

Hey T, since you don`t have winter. How do you over winter plants like the Hibiscus Tree? Just get them a semi-dry rest period?

They are fairly same as the Rose Of Sharons and mine need a good long freeze to rebirth.
