ooo uh..umm. *panic* .....i don't know.

LOL

too hard of a question for this novice gardener.

I did notice that the flower petals were gone the other day when i went out to get my mail, but there were new buds forming. I wasnt sure if bugs were eating the flowers or if something else was going on....

I will have to research hibiscus flowers/trees more to be sure this one survives.

BTW, when I got mine they also had these "Tropical Hibiscus" for sale (can't remember the exact name) but they were multicolored and HUGE blooms!!! I wanted to get a tree, but they were kind of pricey.

anyway, looked something like this:

Very strange thing to a northerner. That's all anyone wanted - everyone!! Swear to god. what the...???

& i'm a Cream O Wheat kinda girl myself. We don't know what grits are where I come from.

We just know southern folks like it.

Oooo lovely. I have a small pair of Rose of sharon aka Hibiscus Trees. They were orphans and I drug them home a few years ago. Their flower is white with maroon eye.
Rather like your pic. Purdy altho I prefer the lavandars.

I have 2 dinner plate sized red Hibiscus plants and neither have ever done well here One I get 2-3 huge blooms then they shatter and off to sleep `til next year.

The other may be too crowed and too much sun so I will find a new home for him this fall. 3 years now and he never bloomed once.

That's too bad. I'm remembering the big bush at my old house....the blooms hung around for a week or so (i think) and then fell off, but new ones were already opening, so it had new blooms opening on it all the time. I actually have one here, but it doesnt look as healthy, I think it's old and in an area where no one ever went to to take better care of it. The blooms on it are small and it looks a little weak looking. I'm going to have to do something about that.

You often see the single colored flowers around here. I really do love the more Hawaiian looking ones - huge multicolored blooms.

I'll see if i can find a pic of my old plant....

Just remembered I bought a little yellow hibiscus tree and planted that there. It also didnt do well.. Maybe there is a trick to replanting them.

I took those shots with the intention of painting them, but flowers are so hard to paiint! I'm never happy with my flower paintings

My orphan transplanted Rose of Sharons , while small yet, bloomed the year after I transplanted them and have steadily produced every year. It is the touchier Hibiscus plants that are not fond of their care or environment here.

Your red (bee-u-tee-ful btw) is what my single bloomer looks like. You and your environment do have the magic touch!!

So, you will overwinter your braided tree inside?

I want to smell peanuts rose too Lordy, she is the cutest thing and she turns roses into music

Fantastic pics !

The bluebirds have arrived and busy flirting and nest making

I wouldn`t have noticed yet but saw one chasing a yellow bellied woodpecker pecking on their pole!

We are part of the bluebird trail and really enjoy the 2 broods of baby bluebirds each family raises..

They eat my duckies' bread leftovers. And they also love Doritos Cool Ranch flavor chips.

Didn't see a lot of pollen this year. I know it was there, but just not the car-covering kind every day.

Saw a little bird grab a huge roach. I guess they eat berries and such but love to find a bug.

You should see the happy birds when it rains. Worms come out to play, and birdies love them worms. Even my duckies enjoy the change of diet.

For most of us, summer begins on Memorial Day. Not officially though.

Haha cute! & i love the name!

If you are using Photobucket, you can cluck on a photo and you will see some options come up above it. Click on Resize photo, or what I prefer to do is go into Edit, More Options & from there, you can do all kinds of things like Crop, Resize, put Boarders and other different Photo Effects like adding text, glitter, animations, frames etc, onto your photo.

I noticed they recently changed their Editing options and there are more now. You can then choose to Save as a Copy, or Save and replace the original photo.

Check it out. It's fun to play around with!
