I wonder what is going on cosmically, my high school students are the biggest butt heads around, I literally hate them all right now. They LIE so bad. I catch them in the act and they lie about doing it.
On top of that, the discipline officer is so condescending towards me, no support there either. I get scared thinking these kids are our future. Its not all of them, but so many. What planets influence this?

Man, I need to switch my profession, what planets to I need in what house to show me the way?

I don't think that, in terms of the kids, it is necessarily the cosmic line-up of planets. Instead, I think that it society letting the kids be "in charge" as it were that is the real problem.

Being in education myself (Elementary SPED) the kids know that they can call the authorities and the adult will be questioned and/or taken away at the drop of a hat; lying is simply par for the course. It's sad that the adults can't have the authority that they once did...consequences, huh?!?

As for you, look at the rulers/planets of the 2nd, 6th and 10th houses. The 2nd will show what sorts of basic values/security needs you have, the 6th what you need in a job, and the 10th what career will suit you best. Good Luck!

It's amazing how technology seems to run their lives. When I'm in school, I notice that almost ALL the students are playing with their cellphones, texting, or fiddling with some device. This is true even when teachers are talking. Their lives are becoming monotonous. There's no meaning. When my brothers and sisters come home, all they want to do is play video games, watch TV, and go on the computer. It's a repetitive cycle each day. There's little contact, little discussion, and little value to how they fill their days.

i wonder - is the question really what is wrong with kids today? or is it WHAT IS WRONG WITH PARENTS today?? and i don't think it's the lack of corporal punishment!

Ive worked extensively with disaffected teens & I blame shoddy parenting & an absence of moral guidance for the kids behaviour.

It's interesting if you look at it from the Pluto generational aspect.

Like high school kids right now have Pluto in Scorpio (probably why Twilight is so popular).

Also, every generation has something bad to say about younger generations.

I agree, technology has created these monsters, maybe it has to do with all those kids that were born during Uranus in Aquarius (actually I don't know long ago that was so that might not be true).

the world has never been getting better for atleast the past 60 years, i think its allways been going a little down hill..

its not the kids fault, its society, and society has changed because of media.

media seems to effect and control people more then would have people think.

i think tv is such a powerful tool, im only 19, and iv not been watching tv for years, or listening to the radio, i think its one of the reasons why i don't keep up with these trends and why im different to most of these "kids" these days.

i actually keep looking for older music for my tastes!

From what I've observed so far, ma big percentage of youngin's born in 1988 through 1998 have a nasty streak.
Not to mention some quite ignorant/highly dysfunctional families.

Not all Pluto is Scorpio kids are that bad I'm an '85 baby though

ehem *points at self*

btw, corporal punishment is never a solution.

You guessed it coral! I am just trying to entice those capricorns

I feel so much better others see problems with the kids. I have been teaching 16 years and I definately see changes. Cell phones are such a problem in class as well as students thinking classrooms are the buffet table. Last week one girl taped her cell phone to the bottom of her shoe and put that foot up on her lap. Sneaky. The girls have huge purses and they stick their hands in the purse and get this glazed look on their face as they text away. As teachers we have no rights and parents blame us and we get no support. Sometimes they push my buttons and I want to knock their teeth out. I just had to vent.
Oh I could go on and on..... Technology is a double edged sword.

oh and twilight is a popular book series now with the teens. About vampires. The goth and emoes like it especially.

Dont "Hate the kids", you are there to teach them not to hate them.

It's not the kids, it's the educational system, the system plays a major role in dumbing them down throughout the years, by the time they get to you in high school they r dumber than dumb, you can also add all the ingredients mentioned above to it, TV, technology, etc.

I suggest you read this book, it's one of my favorites, it's an E book and for free, you could benefit from it a whole lot.

"kids, who can tell what's wrong
with these kids today
kids! who can understand
anything they say?..."
WEST SIDE STORY, written app. 1955?

can't remember the rest of the lyric, but the gist of the song was some parents of 50's teens bemoaning the behaviour of their waywards, meanwhile showing off their own assinine personalities to the hilt.

my mom used to say "there is no such thing as a bad child, only inadequate parents". i myself was one of a whole classful of "difficult" children(i.e. unless the teacher was ahead of us in brains and selfcontrol, WE ran the classroom), and my daughter's classmates were about 20 X sat/pluto conj! you should have heard the teachers in her school. except for two(2, count em) who took it on themselves to show that even difficult classes could be dealt with to good effect, they went through more teachers and got told more often how impossible they were than you could count...

Haybelly, and anyone else struggling with your classes, i mean no disrespect or disparagement...but while some classes are tougher than others, and parents may not be helping, adults have been despairing of teenagers since romeo and juliet, and it has always seemed to me that we have to take the lead and take them in hand SOMEhow..their must be a box to think outside of!

(and since cellphones are banned in airplanes, hospitals, etcetcetc, why can they not be banned in school?)

Twilight is a poorly written book series about a boring girl who falls in love with a vampire (and the vampire loves her back) and how he's dangerous and sexay but their love is full of obstacles because um he's a vampire and sometimes wants to kill her.

I can't believe you haven't heard of this (if you live in the US) as the movie was just released and it's all over the newspapers and stuff.

But yeah, Scorpionic people would really dig vampire love stories.

The ones around here are mainly polite and friendly. If I had to work with the minority trouble-making element on a daily basis I might be more cynical.

But there's trouble makers of every age group ~ some of the retired ones can be the rudest, most aggressive, badly behaved people about.

Definitely, and I can't help but see more and more that kind of parents around these days.
Teachers can't do much though, we are there to "educate" those kids and anything beyond that point is greatly ignored, by them and their parents respectively.

Not everyone should become parents. At least till 30.
It is a huge responsibility, big commitment.
People whether married or single, have kids in a very early age..But we have to reach a certain maturity to raise a child properly.

I agree 100%
The media & peer pressure play a small part in shaping young people, but I hold the parents responsible for their childrens behaviour.

ah yes.....*sigh*
Another day in the trenches
I know this is a delicate subject and this pisces is not one to have any confrontations, so......
I will say that I don't recall violence in schools as bad as it is now.
I am a live and let live person and I guess I am just stupid to think that people should just treat each other with compassion and respect if they recieve the same treatment. When students enter my classroom I just expect them to act appropriately as given by my example.
Anyway,

There are some kids I just love and they make it worth it.
