As requested, from Debbi Kempton-Smith, on Mars in Cappy:

"You're not cute, or helpless, or weak, although at times you believe you should seem to be those things. You are probably gorgeous (Cap rules the bone structure) and you don't believe you are a knockout. This makes you gloomy, but you are jolly good value as you are the height of responsibility in a relationship. Do you play Mother or Father in love? Do you like wearing dark colors? Do weird age gaps with lovers appeal to you? Do you like to control in bed? Mars in Cap, as with Mars in Aries and Scorpio, is among the best Marses on the market. Love lasts a long time with you. Your power turns people on. They think of you as a Big Shot. You manipulate people, and yet it's usually for their own good. This if a fine place for Mars in business, as you start out as coffee boy and two years later end up owning the joint. You think you're superior to other people, though, and tell them their faults in a calm, caring effective style--but they better not tell you anything! This fear of authority bogds down your whole life; you need to learn to play and work by the rules. You resent this so-called intrusion on your 'freedom,' which is actually a narrower, more immature kind of life than if you played things straight. You love to be In Charge, and no matter how odd your life may look to others, your life is just the way you want it. You've a chip on your shoulder, and nobody better mess with You."

And, here's her take on Mars in Leo...

"Precious angel, you do so love to show off! How proud and devastating you are! Could this be why you always have a waiting list of would-be sweethearts? You know exactly how to ride in taxis and send roses and pick the ling off your lover's coat. You are particularly grand at restaruantishness, that rare art of treating the waiter with just the proper mix of consideration and condescension. You tell wonderful jokes. You are loyal until someone treats you shabbily for too long. You know how to impress anyone you've a mind to impress, and you are good with children and in-laws until they get too disgusting. Then you draw yourself up proudly, swish your mane, and waltz off back to the castle. But when you get mad, you go bonkers in the grand style--a sock in the jaw, a small but effective lawsuit, or the healthiest outlet, YOU DO THINGS BETTER THAN THEY DO: a better car, an ecstatic relationship, a successful life. You don't care how long it takes, and it never takes you long to top them whilst never losing your style, or grace, or chivalry. Maddening."

Enjoy.

Don't worry, sweetscorp. Debbi Kempton-Smith is just a little irreverent at times. And she also says Mars in Cap is one of the best placements.

The energies are there. What you do with them, is up to YOU.

Trillian:::
Does Debbi Kempton-Smith have this stuff on the Web? I'd like to see Mars in Scorpio.

Sweetscrop:::
Was the description of Mars in Capricorn accurate to you?

Thanks,

"Super-sonic" needs someone to stand by her. Someone who can handle it but provides stability and trust... big mystery... maybe an archeologist or CIA spy...

Thank you darlings for the replies!
Here's another one: how about Mars square/opposition Uranus, I heard they can be on the kinky side (who me...?)
Well I'm not super kinky but too much conventionality turns me off.

I keep joking that the right one for me is probably an oceanologyst studying sharks.

And I'd also be very happy to see what Debbi Kempton-Smith have to say about Mars in Scorpio.

There's a lovely little book called "Secrets from a Star Gazer's Notebook," it's written by Debbi Kempton-Smith, and that's the source of all this cool Mars stuff.

I'll be happy to transcribe Mars In Scorpio for you later, when I'm home and have the book handy. I too am often very attracted to those with a Mars in Scorpio.

It's a treasure of a book, valuable to both the beginner and the more advanced. You can probably find it inexpensively on ebay, or half.com, or www.abebooks.com.

OK, from Debbi--

Mars In Scorpio
"Some people are afraid of you, but you realize it's not really you they're afraid of, it's passion. Passion is your middle name. You have no trouble getting lovers, for you ooze sex appeal; because you are a deep person too, you have little trouble getting the right mate. You kjnow what you want, and you know what you don't want. People get turned on by your magnificent obsessions--your work, some old hobby, your true love, the #%&* government. You dare to show your passions. Weirdness appeals to you, but let no one forget that you have a clear code of honor, unique to yourself, tht you have constructed, painstakingly, over the years. Anyone who loves you won't mess with that code. Not twice anyway. You're a loyal friend, a bitter enemy, and never forget a betrayal. You're slow to venom, yet you can carry out the kill with frightening detachment. You enjoy doing very little, sitting back and watching your enemies royally screw themselves. You then permit yourself a shrug and a chuckle."

Mars In Cancer
"Oh, you're cute all right, darlin'...you are so coy, and you pout and everything...you do a sort of swivelling aw-shucks thing. Where did you learn hose cuteness lessons? Of course, some of you come on too strong. You do that when you're covering up your shyness about sex, and you could turn people off by acting like a drip. Stick iwth the coy, it works better. Some men with Mars in Cancer are still psychologically tied to their families, resenting their women for no damned good reason and taking their anger out on their relationships. The way to your heart is through your belly, and you enjoy feeding the folks you're with. You are acutely sensitive to your mate's emotional needs because you are genuinely kind, so you are better at keeping a mate than any other Mars position. Relax. Give yourself credit for sneaking up on people with your suave, subtle, sweet understanding--the good old Sideways School of Seduction. And what about your temper? Why can't you ever ask for what you want directly, instead of sneaking up on people all the time? We haven't got all day you know...Mama's darling!"

So there ya go...

Trillian.... That Mars in Scorpio was so accurate for me, I am just floored. It is true to a T. I found her interpretations to be a tad 'nasty' for lack of a better term, but that was so me, I am amazed. Yes, Even the bad stuff *hangs head in shame* K, over the shame....
Thank you so much for taking the time to write them out... How are you? Did you have a good Christmas/Holiday?

pixel...Yeah, I suppose her descriptions can be interpreted as a bit nasty. But if you take the whole book in context, I don't think that's her intention at all. Her style is very tongue-in-cheek, very irreverent, and likes to show both the good and the not-so-good. Her chapter on Saturn in signs/houses alone is worth the price of the book. It's not a definitive work, of course, but the book makes her interpretations so very _human_, rather than abstract.

Personally, I've always loved the passion in you Mars In Scorps! And I am soooo attracted to Mars in Scorp types, too.

Christmas was great, too darn much food and too darn much wine, but had a wonderful holiday. Now it's time to fast! How about yours?

Here's an excerpt from her chapter on Saturn:
"Now here is Saturn. Saturn, green glowing specter of the night skies with its rings shining, is the most beautiful of all the planets. Oh, slow beauty of preternatural mysteries, you spin, gliding your sure measured orbit round the Sun...I could gaze at you forever...why are you such a pain in the *ss? Ironic isn't it, that the planet of the greatest beauty is associated with discipline, caution, hard work, wisdom, sorrow, delays...Fate and Time."

But here's the part where it gets valuable:
"Everybody has Three Lines.
1. Saturn in a sign.
2. Saturn in a house. It is a deeper, more personal hurt than the sign position.
3. The house or houses with Capricorn on the cusp--it hurst just as much as Saturn in a house."

She proceeds iwth interpretations, and while the above may seem to begin negatively, what she's actually doing is trying to teach you how to tread lightly on the Saturn areas in the lives of those you love.

Oh, sorry for the length! Not trying to hijack this thread..

Sounds like a good book, Trillian. Saturn is a mystery I feel I must solve. Wish me luck.

I like Mars in Scorpio a lot. In fact, I'm awfully jealous of it. I want my Mars in Scorpio too!!! I have Mars in Libra (w/ Uranus ) in the first house. I think. Maybe it's the second. I'm not sure. Anyway, I feel as though the Libra thing dissipates and weakens the Mars energy. It sometimes seems to make me sort of... Oh God this is embarrassing...well...wishy-washy. As a Scorpio that bothers me.

My X-mas was great. Different this year, as we lost my Opa in April, and so there was an emptiness during which time we'd have visited with him * sigh*. But my kids had a wonderful X-mas. I have promised myself to eat salads for the next month, as I indulged and it caught up with me *sucks in stomach, does up zipper* All and all, it was fabulous!!!

But TINK,
Don't you know that Mars in Libra is such a good manifestation of the Mars energy? It tones down the aggressive and makes it more humanitarian in nature. You CAN be forceful, and get your point across, but you make it comfortable for all parties involved. The opposition tempers your temper so to speak, and dulls down the negatives. Libras are lovers afterall, so if Mars represents, in some ways, your passion for sex, then you can't go wrong when you combine Venus and Mars' energy. I would try to reinterpret the energy you feel, so you see the extreme positives. Besides, with your Sun in such a sexy sign, I wouldn't be so concerned about your mars placement, because you are a culmination of it all, sun sign being most influencial, so no doubt, you are smokin' and passionate. ( Peaceable too....)

Icetickle I agree, I have Mars in Sag/1st house conjuct ascendant and I have staying power, once in love I can stay in love forever, or in denial if you want to call it that. Real Honesty is love, so lots of times I have said there is someone else out there for you, who is better for you than me, but that's love too, being honest and real.

Pixie I also have Venus in the 5th and it's a very idealistic placement. Mine is in Aries another fire sign so I understand a little. Be careful of getting serious about just one guy, let them get serious about you first, really serious, but never give out your heart, keep your cards close. Love is a gamble but you don't have to show your cards.

Mars in Sag and Mars in Aries are very energetic lovers and need to feel chemistry, which is really honesty and caring. Once they feel that, just once, they will stay faithful for a long time. They need to feel that again though.

I agree with Lioneye about Mars in Cancer, the description is not necessary for me, I've lived it and I don't want to go back there again. Yes the intensity, the drama, the impotence that was all my fault, the love, the flowers, the earrings, the man was a compulsive shopper and very giving but not a lover, though he tried and tried. We were better as friends, the moods! And the bipolar tendencies, and alcohol and stripper named JUJU, yes I remember.

Its' almost as bad as Moon on the ascendant, no worse. I like Mars in Scorpio too.
Mars in Capricorn and Taurus are very sexy, but I haven't tried yet, thinking about it though.

Natasha
Taurus/6th house Sun
I have been secretly in love with a Mars in Aries for years, so I am pretty faithful.

I meant not lately I have been with Mars in Cap but not for years and years and not with Mars in Taurus. For the past ten years I have been with only two men who both had Mars in the 7th house, one with Mars in Aries the other in Libra. I found in synastry the Mars in the 8th or 7th is very powerful. But I don't know if that's for everyone or just me and my partners. I do have the moon in the 8th, and the 7th house is Gemini trine Uranus in Libra so that could be why.

But Mars in synastry is important, the 8th house is very sexy and physical, the 7th is more mental

Mars in the 7th or 8th likes to slow things down, so I remember everything which is good. There is good, and there is I will always remember this.

Natasha
(Please no more Mars in Cancer or Pisces, I love you, but let's be friends:> )

Man... I'm floored that so many people like Mars in Scorpio. Wow. I guess I've always felt misunderstood because of it. My subtle way of attracting a lover is Venus in Virgo. Then all the the sudden, this Mars in Scorpio comes out and it's like HELLO!

OR, they'll notice my Mars in Scorpio energy first, and then realize I have much more refined tastes. I also have Mercury in Scorp which can make me a sarcastic little... well, you get the idea. I can't win...

Thank you SO MUCH for showing me my Mars plus the Cancer stuff. It's right on.

Funny what you said about having been with a Cancer already and not wanting to go back. "The drama, the bipolar..." too hilarious. Why am I putting myself through it? He's only going to realize I'm ultimately going to win and resent me.

No, they don't.
I've managed to avoid this vengence part, but I've sure been tempted. Learned at some point that burning the memories, connection, etc. rellay works. Actually, cutting the connection is a MUST. If any link remains, then my hatred WILL find the way even if I don't take any action. (Hmmm. The true sceptic would say I'm seeing connections where there are non, but alas, I've found it's better not to take more risks. ).

Passion is your middle name.

LOL. I just can't respect anyone lukewarm. You have to have something/anything you feel deeply about. It may be expressed quietly, reservedly, openly, fiercly, enthusiastically or any other way, but this has to be there. If I can't detect it, I know you are not going anywhere I'm on my way.

I have Saturn in the 8th hs. It adds considerably to that Loyalty & Trust & Dedication part. Both Mars in Scorp, Saturn in 8th are force not to trifle with. Nothing light and easy. No chance they let me have 'just fun' or anything casual at all for that matter. Which is great in the end, but total drag when you are just trying to figure out the opposite sex.

Trillian, thank you so much for typing it!

On other note.
I remember reading that Mars in Aqua and Mars in Pieces are finest dancers. Those I know sure have this fluid movement quality and dance beautifully. Have you noticed something similar?

Mars in Leo looooooves Mars in Scorpio. The square aspect only energizes the sexual dynamics more. True story. Of course, there's a danger of the relationship becoming "all about sex", unless there are some sweet aspects to offset it.
Mars in Scorpio seeks to tame their mate with extrordinary pleasure. It typically makes for a very possessive lover, but crazy good sex is an effective way to keep one's lover from straying for sure! Yeah, the good outweighs the bad, at least in my own experience. Actually, Mars in Leo and Mars in Scorpio operate in simular fashions. Both seek to master their mate using mind-blowing pleasure, only with Leo it has a more romantic flavor and with Scorpio it has a more emotional flavor.

I always feel like this bit doesn't fit me...although I'm an 8th house sun (gem), with a scorp rising and mars in aries, I'm so NOT interested in sex. I could go years without, much to my dh's dismay. My mars is part of a mystic rectangle, as well as a grand trine...maybe that has something to do with it? A very puzzling subject for me...
