quote: Jwhop is just as polarizing as most of us here. BR, AG, Mystic Toliet paper, DayDreamer, Dulce Luna, naiad, myself, Isis.. we have ALL said things that offended someone else and we have all been guilty of hurting another's feelings.
True that we've all said some offensive stuff but I don't believe myself or any of the people you just mentioned are as polarizing. Well maybe with the exception of Mystic who was SweetStars, right? Again, although I'm not fond of the guy, I hope he's doing fine.I wouldn't wish anything bad to happen on ANYONE; friend or fiend. IP: Logged |

People... enough. In what way is this productive or for that matter settling anything? Notice how abandoned this place usually is without his presence.Jwhop bashers: Yeah the man is upfront but atleast he usually has significant facts and literally sources to back his claims. I may not agree with most of his points but atleast he tries to place a solid argument to back his beliefs and his passionate approach just shows me that he truly believes in what he preaches. Atleast try to give him a hand for that... lalalinda: As much as I personally don't question moderator behavior, in your mind, does putting up a Jwhop thread in anyway related to the subject of Global Unity? I know its a personal thing but please wouldn't it be better to put in the free-for-all thread rather than placing another match for the on going argument of "them vs. Jwhop?" I am sure Jwhop has his reasons for leaving and I am sure he'll return in his own time. However, I would rather see this place buzzing around with Articles and info. rather than member battles. You are right Xodian, it should have been posted in FFA but if Jwhop goes to any forum it's GU. I did want him or anyone who knows how he is to see this. (so I posted here)seemed logical at the time. IP: Logged |

Well you have to consider the fact that there are quite a lot of people that still hold grudges against him (for one reason or another.)Thus I say we place a shiney lock on this thread and move the topic on to FFA (Just a personal input.) It will be good for all. IP: Logged |

I don't think this thread or any thread should ever be locked, unless its causing a malfunction.I believe that the first amendment should apply to websites like this, and good webmasters like Randall usually don't lock threads for this reason. If there's one thing about Randall that's true, he's a good patriotic American and he supports constitutional rights. I really appreciate the sort of laissez-faire system that Randall uses, so many other sites will tolerate so much less than what is tolerated here. IP: Logged |

True, we wouldn't want any of that Wizard of Oz mess. Now that would be pathetic.
That being said, I think Lala had a right to inquire about her friend and if her I messed up her thread, I'm sorry. IP: Logged |

Maybe polarizing isn't the right word, BUT we have all been offensive and hurt others feelings. I believe we can agree on that. If you don't agree.. too bad

Xodian, It is proper form to put a thread addressing a specific poster in the forum that they frequent the most. It has been done ever since I came to this website and before GU was ever created. Locking it and moving it to please one or two people is absurd. We would then have to close many other threads on other forums to comply with your request. ------------------ Waiting for my Soldier Bear to come home from Iraq... LOL.Look at governer whats his name, "I am a gay american," he slept with a woman for a LONG time but was always gay. Gays can sleep with the opposite gender, they just dont' enjoy it that much! Just like if you slept with the same gender! IP: Logged |

Oh BR... I think you're flirting with me I'm gonna tell....
I know what you mean though. My best friend, another Sag, used to tease me all the time that he wished I was a dude. I couldn't see myself getting down and dirty with a female, just not my thing. Although, I do believe an ex of mine is gay but still hasn't come out- possibly due to the "don't ask don't tell" philosophy. Bah... I miss Bisbee and my gay guy friends. I could talk to them about anything, anytime. I mean, we still talk by phone but still....No one could have franker discussions about sex than my potluck buddies.... boo hoo..now I am surrounded by potato people....LOL ------------------ Waiting for my Soldier Bear to come home from Iraq... I haven't been over here at GU often enough lately to even notice that Jwhop was gone but I'm sure he is just taking a hiatus from it all. He has done that in the past as we all do at times. I guess that what is peaceful for some folks is boring for others in other aspects of life so the same would apply here. I agree with Pid. We have all have said hurtful things to each other here at GU in the heat of political disagreements. I know I have and I am truly regretful and sorry for that. I have been arg..er..discussing politics with Jwhop for quite a few years now at two sites. I don't hold any grudges against him at all. I think he and I have a personality conflict and just rub one another the wrong way most of the time but I kind of like the old fart. I can say that because he is the only one here 5 years older than me. Truthfully, I admire his honesty and his passion for his beliefs as well as his intelligence. I wish him well whatever is going on in his life and hope that he isn't ill. He is just probably heavily involved in working to get Republicans elected in Nov. BR, just to clarify, no one is being forever shamed and held guilty over Rainbow. Rainbow wouldn't want that either. In fact, she told me on the phone once before she died that Tommy, her son, had told her about Pid's post on her Get well thread here at LL. Rainbow not only accepted Pid's apology she was very happy over Pid's words. I made a stupid mistake out of my grief over the loss of my very dear friend which I am sorry for and hopefully, I will not forever be shamed and held guilty for that by people continually bringing it up. We can't change the past. We can only move past it by letting go of it and try to do better and be better people. None of us can move forward if others are forever dragging us back and holding us to the past. That last statement includes Jwhop. We shouldn't hold him to the past. IP: Logged |

Mirandee, Please don't think that I hold anything against what was said in the past. I understand grief and pain. I admired Rainbow and I did feel guilt and I do feel guilt for what I said to her in the past, but those words taught me to never take things for granted. Words hurt and I feel that although Rainbow and I were on different sides, we were still similar. I read her website, I read her words and what she aspired to be and it hit me deep inside. Thank you for telling me that Rainbow was happy with my post to her. I meant everything I said. Her passing moved me and I felt it. I have only shared this with Bear, but the day she passed, I woke up and I turned to Bear and said 'Rainbow is gone. She has left us'. I immediately went on the computer and saw the thread. I was heart broken. I never got to tell her how I felt and I was so saddened at how we ended things. I just wanted to let her know that I cared for her and I was truly hoping for a miracle. Mirandee, you are a great person. Please don't feel that anyone holds things from the past against you. I sure don't. I believe that things happen for a reason. Rainbow accomplished so much more than she knows. She taught us all many lessons. More than that she repaired bridges between many people. I am so sorry you lost your dear friend. I can only imagine the hurt that you feel. Please know that I think of Rainbow and her family often. ~pidaua ------------------ Waiting for my Soldier Bear to come home from Iraq...
