Its funny isn't it? It seems like such a small thing now - but really it has totally shaken my world.Up untill now I thought I could sense ghosts (the chills when you walk into a house, see shapes out of the corner of my eye etc) but I never thought I would see one... I work as a volunteer at a Tip Shop (Basically, our job is to collect&recycle objects dumped in the city's tip, then sell them on to raise money for various things). I was walking through the store room when I caulght something moving out of the corner of my eye. I turned to see a human shaped black object - totally devoid of any actual features - moving very fast away from me, into a wall, then dissapear. The ghost itself (Now I'm only assuming it was a ghost - someone may be able to correct me?) was child size. Approx one foot off the ground. The shape itself was human shaped, but had no arms/legs/features. It was about 3-4 foot tall. The colour was the blackest black I have NEVER seen - like a matt black. Almost like what I would expect a black hole to look like! It moved very fast - floated with no actual movement of the shape (Like, it wasn't moving like it was walking or running - just floating). It was there and gone within 5 seconds - so it moved from one end of the room to the other very fast - but slow enough for me to see it, stop, WTF!!!, and check again - knowing what I had seen was actually real. The funny thing was that there was no 'feeling' eminating from this object - no feelings of anger/sadness/joy - nothing. Totally different from anything else I had experienced. Like usually there is no visual object to look at - only the feeling associated with it. The building itself is close to 200y/o - an old bank. I'm wondering if the ghost is attached to the building/the old stuff we collect from the tip/ or maybe - me?! Any ideas? What do you guys think?? anyone experience anything like this? Hrm. Have you ever heard of Shadow People?I've read a little bit about them, and they talk about them every once and awhile on the Coast to Coast radio show, but I don't know more than that they're black and sometimes people see them flitting around. IP: Logged |

Johnny, fayte. m, Jupiter: Thanks very much for your replies Johnny: I've never heard of 'Shadow People' would you please elaborate? fayte Thank-you for sending me to those links - your advice for other knowflakes has been helpful for me as well. Needless to say, I wasn't asleep when this happened. I have experienced strange things happening to me, such as 'people' standing around my bed, voices telling me things/talking to me when no-one was around, even what you talked about with 'bi-location' - I get it ALL the time with my ex-partner (He thinks about me, so I see him/smell him/hear him) etc. etc. I'm pretty open to all that stuff I guess- I've always been quite intuitive. But this was quite different from anything else I have experienced. I was (and still am) in love when this happened, so maybe I was vibrating at a different level? Buggered if I know - all I know is that the shape/ghost was totally devoid of any shape/feature - it was totally black. And Jupiter - the thing that surprised me was that I WASN'T scared at all when I saw it. That's what makes me wonder if this 'shadow' was from inside me? Usually when I encounter ghosts (or whatever you call em I SENSE them - you know - you get the creeps/a sense of joy/sorrow etc SOMETHING. But with this... Nothing. Thanks again for your insight - I would appreciate ANY advice on this LOL Nebel

Wonder what the planetary positions were on that day in relation to your natal horoscope...? I've seena ghost of a calve (baby cow) i believe. I saw it at the bottom of the golf club drive one night. Thought it was a black and white dog. Later heard how a calve had fallen down a well in that exact spot in the 30's. Poor little thing. But i thought it backed up what i'd seen.------------------ 4th December 1974 18:00GMT Isle of Wight UK IP: Logged |

I really don't know much about "shadow people," Nebel, except what I've heard on late night radio shows like Art Bell's.Here are a few links I found with Yahoo... http://www.eeeek.com/ask79.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadow_people Any web search will bring up thousands more, too. I guess they're a pretty common phenomenon. IP: Logged |

Thanks everyone for your help I've decided that what I saw was a 'Shadow Ghost' (after following Johnny's links). I found this picture on Ghoststudy.com, and it is so similar to what I saw it gave me chills!! <www.ghoststudy.com/new6/shadowpics/page113.htm> Now if I only knew what a Shadow Ghost WAS LOL Nebel IP: Logged |

The "Tuning Ghost" I am a guitar player and have been for over 13 years. I also have the ability known as "perfect pitch" which means I do not need the use of guitar tuners or such devices to tune a guitar. Since moving into our new apartment I have not been able to tune anything at the apartment and all my band-mates expierience the same thing at the apartment. It was said jokingly that there is a "Tuning Ghost" here. My girlfriend and I threw a party on New Years Eve, 2006 and several pictures taken by my friend's girlfriend revealed a "shadow-like" figure in several shots. In this picture and the others I have of this "figure", there was nothing there that could have conceivably caused the "shadow" figure. It was decided that this must be the "Tuning Ghost". The only other occurence of the supernatural I have expierienced here is that the television will turn itself on as I leave the apartment. This has happened three times so far. Aparently this "spirit" doesn't like guitars to be in tune and likes to watch television. I don't mind the T.V. part but the guitar tuning thing is a bit annoying. --Joel W.

Shadowman Danielle J. writes that many of her digital photographs have unexplained phenomena: "I lost count after I hit 5,000... I still haven't found anyone who can explain this phenomena... They seem to get better and better and always surprise me with something new. For the last 2 months I've been taking pictures outside. So, I have concluded that this phenomena is everywhere and can be tapped into rather quickly. I have recently taken pictures with images that look like they are from the past. For example, I have some where you can see Indians and some with prehistoric creatures. l even have one that looks like it's straight out of a Madame Blavatsky book. It seems as though I am tapping into a timewarp right in my very own backyard. The photo below was taken inside the house. I was following Iddy Biddy, (my dog), around taking pictures. When he saw this he stopped and wouldn't go forward. I immediately took the picture in the direction he was looking. This is no one I have ever seen before. No one was home. My family who thought I was crazy now were wondering, who or what is that? Where did it come from? Where did it go? --Danielle Jasmine danielle.jasmine@gmail.com

I saw a ghost once. My father. Solid Form. Pale white. Same Funeral Clothing.I was scared but I told him not to appear to me because it scared me. After that he would come around and I'd feel him. he wouldn't show himself. I wouldn't be scared though. IP: Logged |

NebelI have a friend who used to see those black things you described quite frequently, so much so that she had to move to a new house. She described them exactly as you did, which is really weird. She said they were a black beyond black, and that she didn't really get a feeling from them as she would from a person, but that they seemed to kind of "run" very fast. We guess their closest description would be shadow people. IP: Logged |

When I lived in California, there was a ghost that would always follow me around. Everytime I saw him it was either out of the corner of my eye or I only saw him for a split second. He appeared to be a solid person. He had black hair and tan skin, a white shirt and either dark brown or dark blue pants, but I never saw his face. I always felt really safe knowing he was around, so I considered him a sort of a guardian.IP: Logged |

Thank you everyone for your replies Solane Star - those pictures are creepy!! Girl of the water - did you ever find out who it was that was following you around (a relative perhaps?)? A good friend of mine says he has people following him around - he calls them 'guides'. Nebel IP: Logged |

I read all the links that Fayte, Johnny and Solane posted. Thanks for the info, guys. This is, for me, both extremely interesting and frightening. I had never heard of shadow people. This will keep me awake tonight if I think about it too much. Seriously, I am more than a little timid about these kinds of things because I have had some very weird experiences in the realm of the supernatural from childhood on. It always frightened me and by the time I was a young adult I started filtering it out. I trained my brain to cut it off whenever I felt something around me and the feeling that if I did not stop it something or someone was about to speak to me. *shudder* I have seen ghosts, felt ghosts, my dad talked to me audibly after he died and I once had through meditation an ecstatic yet for me at the same time, terrifying vision. Quite a few times while sitting here at my computer at night when I am alone I have smelled the fragrance of flowers all around me. That never scares me because I sense strongly that it is either my mom who died in 1995 or Our Lady. The flowers smell differently for my mom than they do for Mary. It seems that when it happens through my sense of smell it does not frighten me, in fact it gives me a happy, peaceful feeling. But when it happens through my sense of sight or hearing it does frighten me. Weird but I guess that our sense of vision and hearing are what we humans navigate though life with the most and any time we see something that is not supposed to be there or hear something when nothing is there it is far more frightening then smelling something when nothing is there. Hope that makes sense. It does not surprise me that religions would define shadow people as demons. I think the reason for that is because these shadow beings have a black form rather than the light or translucent form of ghosts or spirits. Though any ghosts or spirits that I have seen don't even have the translucent form but instead have total human form. Anyway, we attribute black to the negative and white or translucency to the positive so I think that is why these shadow people are thought of by some to be demons and why some think of them as formed by negative energy. Those pictures that you posted are scary, Solane especially in light of the events in your apartment that you described. The tuning and the television events seem like a mischievious or playful spirit. At times I have thought that I might have one of those around this house because things will disappear from where I placed them and then suddenly reappear a day or so later either in the same place or someplace else. Shadow people are a fascinating subject but I hope I never see one. I have had the experience of seeing movement out of the corner of my eye as was described in the links. IP: Logged |

Sorry for the misunderstanding there Mirandee, but those pics are from Art Bells site, that others sent in. I did have shadow people around the old house that I lived in for 6 years, but just moved out 4 months ago!!! History has it that the house has been built on old Indian burial grounds. They never bothered us though, just made their appearances, then moved on. Oh, someone used to like to play the drums in the basement from time to time!!! IP: Logged |

Nebel- No, but my half brother thinks it could be a friend of my cousin's that used to help take care of me when I was a baby. I'm not too sure of this though, but I know the ghost was definately some kind of guide or guardian.*smiles* IP: Logged |
