the quarantine is a b+tch - and better make sure of the cost!... i don't know if she's flown before but my dog was freaked out by the trip cross-country. if you do take her a light sedative might be a good idea for her nerves

...is there no one you can leave her with who will look after? your sister maybe?

leaping, i am sorry you are going through this. i hope it is just the holidays getting to you. i remember one christmas i felt that way. i arranged intentionally to spend it alone...in nyc in fact...and it was one of the longest days in my whole life. i really felt that aloneness. even the village was half-dead and i was in a strange apartment belonging to a friend who was with her family...very low.

but this too will pass. i am glad you have your dog! they can be true life/soulsavers at times like these.

wish i had some easy pick-you-up words but i know how irritating they are! you are loved and you will find your place. and do you know how many hundreds of millions of people have herpes and good solid relationships too?

Just because you aren't ace at relationships with humans currently doesn't mean that you won't be ever. The relationships we have with our animal companions are extremely beneficial spiritual experiences. The fact that you have a wonderful relationship with your dog illustrates that you are a caring person capable of giving and receiving love. That doesn't stop with just one species, by the way. If you are a loving and caring person then those qualities are yours to own period.

Leaping, I just wanted to say that I think you are very courageous to come forth and say these personal things that you said, cuz, people learn from other people, and if nobody is talking, then nobody is learning.

PS. Don't let the stigma of a disease define you. So you have a disease that probably half the population has, so what? At least you are responsible about it, and not acting like whoever it was that gave it to you.

What can be so bad, that you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel? Drugs will only turn you into a miserable drug addict, not make you happy.
Killing yourself is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
Whatever it is that troubles you must have a solution, most problems do, we only have to see past our emotions and look at them subjectively.
what advice would you give a dear friend who was saying these things? Surely you would have something to say to that person. Well, say that to you!! The only thing constant is change. So if you feel like this today, chances are you won't tomorrow, or next week. There are always surprises in store, always miracles waiting to happen, if we just move aside and let them.
