What are some indications of being good at learning languages? Do you know anybody good at languages? Are yu? Or perhaps yu are interested in languages and drawn to them. Better at speaking or writing the langugaes?Post some reasons yu see in charts that attribute to it. Also if yu aren't so good with languages post! Millionth time editing: I really like languages and they are fun etc..I like word origins and connecting words from other languages that mean the same thing and are similarly written! So I look at languages more for personal fun not to connect with others. Its a word thing I like. Oh but I like getting the accents and sounding right tho! But im not good at communicating in other languages. To me its like an extension of my vocabulary in english. Learning a foreign word is like another way to say something in english. I only have mars in sag in 3rd house thats the only mars/gemini mercury connection I have lol. My mercury isnt really anything interesting though. Which its supposed to be right?! If yu are into languages or good at them. So I dunno what to think. ------------------ I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.-Poe i fell asleep into a world of chaos and awoke to another IP: Logged |

Met several Libras who were good with languages. Including my grandmother and a Libran ex-boyfriend. Catherine Deneuve, another Libra, also speaks several languages.IP: Logged |

Ya Libra, Gemini, and Sag seem like the obvious culprits of indicating linguistic talent! But still what about the ones without their influence?------------------ I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.-Poe i fell asleep into a world of chaos and awoke to another IP: Logged |

I always thought strong Mercurial influence indicated this? My mother's a Virgo +3 with a Libra Mercury and knows about 4 languages fluently via life experiences. Me, I'm just bilingual but I can intelligibly understand 4 languages. Moon in Virgo in the 8th/Venus in Gemini 5th. Sag would make sense too though since its worldly. IP: Logged |

So what kind of Mercurial influence? What would be a strong mercury influence? And how does venus or the moon connect with languages? Virgo hmm it is mercury ruled.------------------ I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.-Poe i fell asleep into a world of chaos and awoke to another IP: Logged |

Well I think predominantly Gemini or just a strongly aspected Mercury, but Virgo might apply here since Mercury is dignified there as well. But I think the big aspect that astrologers would probably look for would be Mercury/Jupiter since Jupiter expands. IP: Logged |

The conjunction would be one, yeah. The other aspects could be considered as well. IP: Logged |

I speak three languages well (reading/writing/speaking) - and am able to easily understand both orally and in writing - another two (but I can't actually speak - it's more like 2 words in eng and 2 words in said language lol, when I try to). But I have to study the last two anyway as part of my future job requirements, so I will speak them well in the next few years. Aspects: Sun (Aries) 11th - trine - Saturn (Sag) 6th Mercury (Pisces) 10th - square - Uranus (Sag) 6th Jupiter (Pisces) conj MC - square - Saturn (Sag) 6th AC in Gemini 29' (or Cancer 0') 9th house cusp - Aquarius/ ruler Uranus in Sag 3rd house cusp - Leo/ ruler Sun in Aries IP: Logged |

Oh - Ya - and I also have Mercury conj Jupiter in Pisces (10th), but it's wide.Although it would make sense that it affects me if my AC was Gem/DC Sag -- because then the rulers would be Merc/Jupiter (and it would give the conj extra strength) IP: Logged |

I love learning languages and am very good at it. I studied Spanish (4 years), Italian (3), and Japanese (3). My favorite of the 3 is Japanese, then Italian. I haven't gotten to practice them lately, since college, so I'm pretty rusty now, especially with spanish. But my Japanese isnt too bad, considering!I have Mercury (conjunct Venus) in Virgo, in the 10th. Sun in Leo in the 9th Mars in Cancer in the 9th I think the love of languages has something to do with that combination. ------------------ Leo with Scorpio Rising & Moon in Taurus. IP: Logged |

Lots of 9th and 10th stuff with you and Betty! Ya know I don't know if merc conj. venus has much to do with it since that is fairly common right? And its in virgo! That means strong mercury influence then? I used to love Japanese!

i can read and understand Japanese. i can speak it but it's rubbish. i can understand simple written German and French, but not speaking at all. i don't understand much of them (spoken) either. i think i just have to practice them, i just don't have enough occasions to.IP: Logged |

Im good with accents I'd say and getting the sounds right but having a conversation in languages is harder for me.------------------ I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.-Poe i fell asleep into a world of chaos and awoke to another IP: Logged |

Know of two people who each speak several languages. They both have n.Mercury opposite n.Pluto. One has Pluto in the 9th house, opposite Mercury in the 3rd. While the other has Pluto in the 3rd, opposite Mercury in the 9th.Edit: Oops! Boo-Boo on my part. One person has Pluto in the 8th house, opposite Mercury in the 2nd. Not Pluto in the 9th house, opposite Mercury in the 3rd. IP: Logged |

Another interesting bit, both have a sextile from Pluto to Neptune, then Neptune trines their Merc. Then both have Pluto opposite Merc. Not enough of a adept astrologer to know if that means anything or not. IP: Logged |
