How do you feel about Sagittarians? What personal experiences can you draw from?

I have noticed many different types of Sagittarians.

I myself am a Sag, and have been described as textbook Sag:
-outgoing
-intellectual
-adventurous
-life of the party
-highly principled
-bossy/confrontational
-somewhat narcissistic

On the contrary, however, I have known a few Sags to be:
-docile
-passive
-introverted
-unassuming
-conservative
-a bit boring/dull
-go-with-the-flow

...I am SHOCKED and quite honestly disappointed when I learn they are Sags.

What are your experiences of Sag in general? I've noticed many noteworthy celebrities are Sag. Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus.... going back to yesteryear, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Tina Turner, etc. Many people who defined an 'era', so to speak.

The Sun is what you're striving to become. Perhaps the less typically Sagittarian Sags you know have no other planets other than the Sun in that sign.

Entertainers for sure. They're ruled by Jupiter/Zeus...he was into disguises and costumes, which is a big part of the entertainment industry.

I'm a Sag, but a fairly atypical one. The general traits are there, but it is tempered with a lot of earth and water. Being an empathic a grounded Sag can be horribly unexciting, because in those moments when I shove my foot down my throat, I automatically feel something has gone wrong. My original goal is then scrapped and the new goal becomes damage control. One great thing about the Sag archetype is the ability to move on, especially while the wounds are fresh. The rest of my chart makes sure that facet of Sag doesn't get much play time for me. At times it feels as though I am walking around permanently cringing while my dumb horse feet clomp around. The only consolation I am able to offer is help gluing all the broken glassware together after the fact (which I promptly drop on the floor 5 min later).

On a positive note, the benefits are amazing. It is difficult to control one's limbs when you are in the thralls of ecstatic trance. I feel as though Sag's awkward side comes from walking around with one foot in heaven. from the top of the mountain, the little things we say and do hold little weight. In my case, it feels like a balancing act between what I see and what I do.

The Sag folks I have met have always been enjoyable, but our paths are always temporarily crossed. Perhaps this is because we tend to devour each other's personalities when we meet. I find myself to be much more Saggy around my fellow centaurs. In fact there is a Jupiter in Leo friend who I was repeatedly kicked out of places with, for being too obnoxious (lots of laughing and singing lol). Sex with Sag has always been quite fun, but ultimately (regardless of the occasion) I feel like enough Sag for one room. In every case, both me and the fellow Sag just kinda decide we have work to do in other areas and part ways. Occasionally we check in with each other, but both of us are completely content without having to hang out as long as life is calling us elsewhere.

I like connecting with Sag, but it is often a huge reflective experience. The scenario tends to burn super bright until we learn whatever it is the other has to teach us. After that, poof!...Next!

hehe

I love Sags. They are magical. I am a Gemini so the opposite sign but for me they are the most special sign of the zodiac for a man.

Brad Pitt is a saggitarian... I noticed they really mature a lot with age.

Love Sags!
Good traits:Wise but fun. Lives life to fullest, most manage their life well.
Not so good traits: Know it all attitude at times, and sometimes rude.

I have never in my life encountered a textbook sag. The ones I've met are generally introverted and a bit snobbish, prejudiced and kinda charmless.
That is why I thought that the sign of Sagittarius was a conservative one at first. I was supprised when I got into astrology and read what they are supposed to be like.
I'm still waiting for an awesome Sag to appear because I know you're out there! I'ver just had bad luck with the ones I've known so far.

I will instantly get along with sag's in the short term. Over time though about 1/2 them begin to strongly dislike me. Usually the ones that have a lot of sag placements. Largely because I am just not as care free as they are and tend to be a "black and white thinker". I'm not a particularly adventurous person, and to them it can mean close minded. It becomes difficult for us to see eye to me. The ones that don't hit that wall though I usually become pretty good friends with.

I get along with sag moons super super well.

I like Sagittarius' pushing their opinions on you. Sure, it can get annoying, but sometimes it means they care and they want to help you out with their knowledge. I don't like their bluntness. I like straightforwardness, of course. I like them being honest and expressing their true feelings, but I don't like how they just don't pay any attention to the way they word things. ok, you're going to call someone fat... Don't just say it, say it indirectly like "Where did all of the donuts go?" and hten the fat person will know to stop eating. lol

I think Sag's tend to pretty go-with-the-flow, I think this is a textbook Sag behavior. They are mutable and generally easy going, the most easy going fire sign IMO.

I'm a Sagittarius myself. I love my fellow Saggies. But I know we can come on a little strong and sometimes scare people or hurt people with our bluntness and impulsive nature.

I'm pretty textbook Sag in a lot of ways but I also have a lot of water in my chart which tempers me somewhat. I am totally a party person, very adventurous and am pretty sociable. But I also go through phases where I need to be left alone, or when I am feeling shy. I think this is my Pisces stellium at work. I need to withdraw and be alone to recharge . . . which is so not in the a Saggitarian's vocabulary. I'm also much, much less didactic than a typical Sagittarius. I can see a lot different perspectives and viewpoints, so I don't think my opinion is ever the be-all-end-all. A lot of Sagittarians I've experienced are *not* like that, especially those with Mercury in Sag, too.

Totally love them. I’ve got a Capricorn Sun, but my Asc, Mercury, Venus and Neptune are all in Sag… and I tend to resonate really well with other Sag influenced people because I just love their enthusiasm, spontaneity and sense of humor. A lot of them have this innocent child-like side which is just adorable… this is what helps them get a away with being shockingly blunt on occasion…

I tend to fall for them too… My Gemini Dsc is ruled by Mercury in Sag and Jupiter falls into my 7th house… which is funny because in many ways I’m a textbook Capricorn…. I do have a bunch or personal planets in fire signs but Saturn is strongly active in my chart, and I have Moon in Cancer, so I do tend to be reserved and careful and all that…. But when I do get together with strongly fiery people, like Sagittarians, they make me feel ‘alive’ like I wanna jump for joy… and I crave this type of person, probably because of Jupiter in the 7th….

The Sag Sun’s that are not textbook are probably the ones whose natal charts in general diverge greatly from their Sun Signs… a lot of Saggies will have personal planets in Scorpio and Capricorn for instance…

As for some Sagittarians being conservative…. Well Jupiter is the planet of morality…a lot of Saggies may have some pretty ‘out there’ liberal opinions… but then there are the other ones who swing in the other direction and err on the side conservatism…. The common thread here is a tendency to be opinionated and intellectually oriented.

And what I said before about liking Sags… well it’s not like I’d go for just anyone because they were a Sag. Brad Pitt for example is not my type…. But I do like Ian Somehalder from the ‘Vampire Diaries’, and I’ve actually seen him in person before years ago when he worked on Lost in Hawaii… he frequented a store I worked in at the time and once he totally flirted on me, and told me I had a cute accent (I’m not American). Funnily enough, I didn’t know who he was when that happened, although I did notice his looks, but after he complimented me I started to love him… He’s perfect for the role of Damon, he plays the reckless, dangerous, devil-may-care type real well… probably because a part of his own personality matches the character…. This guy has sooo much Sag in his chart! And I kind of like the fact that Nina Dobrev is his real life girlfriend… she’s a Capricorn like me (with personal placements in Aquarius and Sag), and on the show I like Elena with Damon about ten thousand times more then I like her with Stephan!

its very interesting though because like somebody else said on here they thought at first sag was a conservative sign,,i thought the same but i think its just rlly due to the mixture of cappy merc n mars they sometimes have in their charts. its usually like what ur sun sign is, its usually influenced by the sign to the left n right to it. all sags ive known have been quiet, until comfy, but seem insecure, yet cute and know two that seem like textbook sags. sag merc even though its in detriment is soo fun!! i love my mercstaaa

I always get along well with Sags but we (nor other fire signs) ever become like inseparable best friends. It's more so that we understand the other a lot faster than when interacting with other people/signs.

I've met a few Sags in my lifetime and what I absolutely like about them is their energy is CLEAR. You're not sitting there guessing what they're thinking, or if they're annoyed, or whathaveyou (gahl, is that one word even?) They are easy to approach and converse with. I work with a Sag girl right now and she's totally totally a Sagittarius lol. It's hilarious because she can rub people the wrong way at work very easily and be oblivious to it. Completely. She just has no filter and is very blunt, and loud. Lol.

I also find most Sags are MUCH MORE sensitive than they come across, just in the sense that they are easily emotional. They have a very strong sense of what's "right" and "wrong." It's just that it's their own. They're similar to Pisces in that they're always optimistic and spiritual and they believe things work out the way they're supposed to and it's no use (or fun) worrying about it.

To be expected. Sagittarius the sign that rules organized religion so can be dogmatic with regard to belief system and religious rituals. That would be considered conservative. Aquarius is the sign that would be antithetical to a status quo that has gone stale and no longer serving the good of the whole.

Ever met an Aquarius who is dominated by his Venus in Sagittarius though? They can really drive you up the wall with their obsession with CHURCH when they're convinced it serves the greater good. I used to be friends with one and no longer talk to him because every time I had a problem he thought that CHURCH could solve it and um it actually can't.

Venus in Sagittarius can get as obsessed with a religion or pop culture or politics as a Venus in Scorpio can get obsessed with sex.
