^ I agree with those, but I would also have to say water placements or placements in 8th or 3rd house, Pluto aspects. Intuition would play a huge part because that enables strong understanding into human psyche. That being said, water placements can be somewhat obvious because you in turn feel or recognize their intensity and/or emotional involvement. Aquarian placements (Sun, Mercury, Mars), on the other hand can manipulate and you would never even know it. They have intuition along with the bigger picture and perseverance. Over all I imagine for a master manipulator, a strong mercury would be a must (preferably with Uranus, Jupiter, Pluto trines, and strong angle aspects to it).

Manipulation for what to be exact? In my experience *unevolved* Capricorn and Pisces are fearless manipulators. Capricorns I know were the ones that would figuratively & literally walk over corpses to get more money or whatever it is that they feel entitled to. This would include not letting their nieces & nephews know that their father was dying so they have a reason to cut them off. Pisces are more shrewd than they appear and can always turn themselves into a victim and make the real victim become the perpetrator. Again this is just my experience, I'm very well aware that these are *unevolved* versions of those signs and I'd never generalize that all Caps or Pisces are master manipulators! IP: Logged |

7th house emphasis.Just look at how many Hitler had. And he had Mercury conjunct the descendant and ruling the 11th - manipulating a large group through his words - as well as 9th (politics). IP: Logged |

^ That link redirects me to a site called gamecrush that has nothing to do with astrology On topic, I would say that an afflicted Mercury could indicate manipulative tendencies. Not sure about the signs but I think mutable signs are more prone to deceit.
It is reflected in Machiavelli's chart, by the way. There are probably many other factors though.

Geniuses tend to have hard aspects to Mercury though...from what I've read, it doesn't sound like Hawking (Mercury-Mars square), Einstein (Mercury-Saturn conjunction, Mercury-Uranus quincunx), or Tesla (out-of-sign conjunction between Mercury and Saturn) were manipulative.

As always, two sides of the same coin. Some people will manifest the energies in a positive way, others, in a negative way.

Haha well yes, technically no aspect can *make* someone anything, but we're discussing tendencies here. Maybe others will chime in and share their experiences.

Mutable and water signs tend to have an ability to do it. In some respects I do consider myself a master manipulator. I can be really good at it when I want to be. I only allow it though when there is justified cause, which is not common. My reason for this is I have a lot of scorpio, gemini, and 8th house influence. ------------------ It's All Elemental ----- My Chart if relevant IP: Logged |

I think the dark side of any signs have the potential of this.Though water signs, gem do it alot. Most healthy Virgos don't. We hate mind games. Find it a waste of energy. IP: Logged |

Agreed. When it comes down to it, they all are capable. IP: Logged |
