Haha your funny, but I just want to say I don't think its bad if a man wants to be more feminine, that's cool, but at the same time we shouldn't get angry at men who feel comfortable in the tradional male roles, but as far as little things like carrying my woman's purse, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Course! I'm all for everyone manifesting their masculine and feminine in their own way. I know I enjoy spending time doing yardwork, sometimes being the "breadwinner", making repairs or whatever. And sometimes I just want to spritz on some perfume and eat bonbons and paint my nails all day. IP: Logged |

And one day you are going to grow old, fat and ugly, and have four hungry kids that need to be fed, and one that needs diapers changed, and your wife is out with her girlfriends, and guess what? ***You just discovered that you don't know how to cook and Chef Boyardee is out to lunch as well*** And the house stinks with a kid walking around with a smooshed up diaper but you don't know how to change and wipe the bum. You also don't know why the kid has no more pants as you discover the laundry in the basement piled sky high. ***But you don't even know how to place clothes into a white metal box and turn a knob because you've never done it before*** And guess what? That football game on TV is interrupted because the Cable TV bill was never paid and you got disconnected because ***you've never done the household bills before*** Then you lose your job because your company isn't doing well and has to lay you off. Just at about the same time, your Johnson stops working and the radical spurts in the bedroom have stopped because ***you never made that shopping trip to the store before to pick up soap, shampoo or razors.*** Then you discover your wife was on LindaLand forums consulting AstroGuru about Synastry with that hot guy down the street that cooks for her, washes her hair and does her manicures. LMAO @ YoursTrulyAlways and the importance of so-called "women's work"/feminine duties, even for men. Made me smile IP: Logged |

Haha, I really find all this so interesting. Gender has always fascinated me because it's such a highly socialized thing. If we didn't have society subtly and overtly telling us what's masculine and what's feminine, what's a man's role and what's a woman's role, they'd just be ROLES. Which is ultimately what they are in, the end. I consider myself both masculine and feminine and I think I blend the two very well. Since my feminine side is flavored with Scorpio, I've never seen anything 'weak' about it. I think there's a lot of power there: to feel so deeply, to be intuitive and insightful when others aren't, and to be really sensual (which I've always really associated with femininity). I have no problem expressing or being in touch with all of that. But I also really love being in touch with my masculinity, too. I'm not a 'macho' guy by any means, but I do pride myself on being courageous, proud, honorable, strong-minded, hardworking, etc. My masculine side is my Leo Sun, so I think I take plenty of pride in being male, especially as I mature and really become a man. I'm attracted to both sexes but I've never been into overly feminine men. I like for him to be in touch with his feminine side. But I don't want it to overwhelm his personality. I still want him to be noticeably male in his expression. Not in a stereotypical way but I just find masculine strength and energy very attractive. ------------------ Check out My Astrology Blog: http://astroarena12.blogspot.com IP: Logged |

I really don't know what I am, in terms of masculinity or femininity. I don't consider myself at odds with the feminine aspect of my nature but then my mom thinks I'm a tomboy simply because I don't care for manicures or pedicures, I don't put on facial masks, I don't wear jewellery. Well, so what? My thing is my hair . My boyfriend does the practical stuff (assembling the Ikea furniture, for instance) around the house, he does most of the cooking, I do the lion's share of the cleaning, and I assume responsibility for anything related to the maintenance, repair or use of computers, that's my thing, I'm a PC nerd. So what am I, exactly? I don't know. I think we have a pretty egalitarian setup that is just based on our aptitudes and who does what best.IP: Logged |

Just to be clear, I'm a qualified airborne ranger and a double black belt in martial arts. Masculinity doesn't come from watching football, beer drinking, belching or passing wind. Those men are wussies. Real men can run households by themselves and still protect the homefront. IP: Logged |

Most men will oblige with carry the bag with arms extended by the handle. Some jacka$$es would leave the bag on the floor. Some may even walk away from it for fear of losing macho-ness. I prefer to sling the handbag. When questioned, the answer is: no, I'm not effeminate. It's just a practical way of carrying a bag. It lifts the bag off the floor and it is an efficient way of distributing weight. I've seen men practically dragging heavy totes on the ground while walking just so they don't look "gay," especially men under 5 foot 8 inches and with long arms. I don't care what anyone says, and whether any woman laughs at me, but the wise man in me says that Louis Vuitton or Gucci or Hermes and the dirty floor don't mix. Imagine the underside of a white canvas bag if you dragged it across pavement in public. The man who protects and cherishes your purse would most likely protect and cherish you. If a man allows you out in public with scuffed leather shoes without first shining them (especially if they have been NSFed and militarized) are either (1) lazy (2) inconsiderate or (3) doesn't care about you. The man who wants to show you off at your best honours you the most. No man should be too big to voluntarily iron your clothes if crinkled before you go out (especially if he has been militarized). The man who thrives on looking better than you all the time while strutting like a peacock is focused only on himself, and you would have you serve him most of the time.
Oh my, okie, i go test the handbag theory on my next date!! IP: Logged |

Oh of course not. That's not how I measure masculinity at all. I'm not even that kind of guy myself. I think it's just a kind of strength, power, confidence. The kind of confidence it takes to do the things you do.

Yeah. I'm like a Marine drill sergeant with my teenaged son: "You must clean and rinse all the dishes before you put them in the dishwasher, and not just throw them in haphazardly! You'll break both the dishwasher and the dishes!" "Err.. dad.. why is it called a dishwasher if I need to wash the dishes first?" Tim Allen used to joke: "it's like wiping before you take a dump" IP: Logged |

Shall I admit that I (scorp-moon 3rd) am REALLY in love with a pisces-moon 12th and that it feels as if it's not of this earth, being a nonbelieving 12th house sun myself? NO I won't! (4 orb AND his Venus right in the middle sextile our Moons, LOVELY!!)IP: Logged |

Cancer moon is an interesting placement. It's in its home so it's also important to see how it's aspected and where areas it will hit.Granted I'm not terribly representative of cancer moons because that nasty malefic saturn is in detriment and retrograde although it is in the sixth house. Saturn conjunct Moon in cancer = brick wall around emotions. IP: Logged |

I love my Pisces Moon (3rd) even if it is afflicted. I think that perhaps the afflictions have made my Moon stronger, rather than weaker, as what doesn't zap you makes you stronger. I can be very spacey and daydream a lot, also procastinate from time to time. When I find myself in lalala land, my Saturn-Moon opposition brings me back to Earth. Honestly, I really think that my Sun-Mercury squares to the Moon, and the Saturn opposition greatly help my motivation/success. One of my favorite qualities about myself, is that I don't give up on myself and have strong motivation/determination. I am very sensitive, empathetic, and love the arts. I quickly pick up vibes/energies about people and places, which sometimes overwhelms me. As a dominate Fire/Water person, I love being around people and learning new things, but also ensure that my home is my haven, my personal space to purify my soul and recharge. I also feel very at peace in nature, especially around water. IP: Logged |

Haha i was just kidding. i know how to cook, clean, and change baby diapers,i have babysitted my sisters kids on numerous occasions. I dont have a problem doing those things either, what i do have a problem is the folks who think that men who work all day and have stay at home wives are deadbeats if they dont come home and do alot of the house work . But if both have jobs outside the home then household chores should be equally divided up. Not saying that men shouldnt help out when needed though.IP: Logged |

Dude,I'm away from home 14 hours a day. When I get home at night, I do household chores. I don't sit my fat ass in front of the boob tube and veg out for Monday Night Football or WWF or whatever. Stuff needs to be done at home. Kids need to be fed, homework needs to be checked, trash needs taking out, laundry needs to be done and folded, bills need to be paid, dog needs to sh1t, wife needs to be serviced, sometimes twice, three times, etc. Then the complaints begin: sh1t ran out, sh1t is busted, sh1t needs batteries, feel like sh1t, look like sh1t, sh1thead has new sh1t that I don't have, her sh1t is better than my sh1t, go get me sh1t from the pharmacy, the kids need that sh1t for school from the supermarket, get your a$$ there now, etc. You're dreaming if you think you can just home from work and you've done your share of the work! it also depends on the aspects to your moon. I have a water grand trine sun (cancer) moon (pisces) pluto (scorpio) forming kites with a stellium in capricorn (saturn, uranus, neptume, vesta)yes i am empathetic, but my capricorn aspects anchors me. my man has sun and venus in pisces, and yes although he appears to be more practical - when his venus kicks in, he is more empathetic than my moon. all depends on the context really IP: Logged |

Ok I come to my bottom line, having derailed this thread maximally. In my eyes, there are no feminine tasks. I can do many household tasks as well as most women and some moderately well. The one thing I cannot do is breast feed. My dream job is to stay at home and take care of my family. I envy stay at home moms and aspire to be a stay at home grandpa. The one thing I won't ever do as a stay at home is drive a minivan. I hope the soccer girls like faster Porsches and Aston Martins. That much I'm not feminine. Ami says its Moon Trine Venus. That's all. IP: Logged |

I really admire you for this. I also don't believe in masculine or feminine roles and/or tasks. As a woman, I don't at all aspire to be a stay at home anything, as I feel it would be psychologically damaging to me and my hypothetical kids. That could be my tenth house stellium talking, though, bc I've always been extremely career oriented. IP: Logged |
