I have Neptune conjunct my Ascendant and opposite my Sun and I agree with you. Some people use their Neptune energy very negatively. Also it can be a generational effect where u have Neptune opposite ur Venus effect

The reason for this is because your Ascendant or veneer (the personality you show to the world) is not in sync with your Sun (self) or Moon (emotional attitude).

This doesn't make for a bad personality but it shows that you are not comfortable leaving yourself open or exposed so you put up walls to avoid this.

In high school, I looked like I didn't do anything...It was pretty much true at first. When certain people got to know me better, they where like "YOU DO THAT!? You look like you don't do anything."

A friend that I've known since I was 5, told me yeah if I didn't know you, I wouldn't think you are the way you are by looking at you. haha!

One of my co-workers and I like to joke around swear and do inappropriate gestures when the kids aren't listening or looking at us.
Her girlfriend said "I can't believe you said that to Stawr!" I guess I look like a proper prude or something.
But I told her girlfriend "Off the clock, I FLIP THE SCRIPT!"

I definitely don't swear as much as I use to, I had a sailor mouth from 17-20.

I also don't look like I would listen to metal, rap and sometimes popular music. haha

Plus I've worked in Catholic/Christian environments...and I've thought religion is BS since age 17.

Gem asc, Aries Sun house 11, Scorpio Moon house 6.

I also look like I would excel at everything in school. Not true. Teacher's, principals, counselors never believed me when I or my mom said needed a slow math class. They didn't take my nor my mother's word for it and would put me in the college level math class, because I didn't fit the stereo type of a kid that struggles in math and sometimes science looks and acts like.
It wasn't until they saw my math report card that they would would go "oh, yeah you do need an easier class." Ughhh told ya @$$holes!

Also I'm kind of a mind fuq, like I said I look like I'm smart at everything. Sometimes people will flock to me for help at first...but then I have blonde moments at times, and can act like a ditz. So then when people start making comments about me not having much going on in my head...sometimes I will tear them apart, and will pretty much let them know 'if I have nothing going on my head how come I'm more successful in this department. I must be doing something right.' But with the people that are not rude, I will share my deep thoughts or have a deep conversation with them.

Sometimes I am so sarcastic that people really think I am dumb. Like my own sister. One time made a comment to me, where you THINK it would be obvious that I was playing dumb and messing w/ second grade cousin. No I guess my sister and other people there really thought I was that stupid. And I told my sister that she was the stupid one for not being able to tell. Only fair.

Over the weekend a guy made a sarcastic comment to my story. But I didn't choose to act like I knew he was being sarcastic and continue with my story. He felt the need to subtlety say "sarcasm!" as if I didn't pick up on it. So was so close saying something to him like "I knew you were being sarcastic moron, but thanks anyways!" But I let it slide.

My asc in capricorn tends to lead people to see me as much more serious, disciplined and cold hearted than I actually am. My sun in cancer makes me really a huge sweetheart who just wants to be cuddled and to care for others but nobody would ever guess that from my appearance which is very much contradictory.

I know I said this in SW peas and I am not sure you saw because I did not go back to the thread but you seem VERY Gemini Rising to me.
Cancer Rising does not have the same kind of verbal vibe you have, the kind of playful one.
Cancer Rising does not have the energy in it's vibe that you do.

I could explain more if you wanted but as I got better in Astrology, I would ponder your ASC and it seems very Gemini like to me, even though it is close to Cancer.

I do not feel the Cancer in it.

Those are just some of my insights.

When being with people that I'm not yet completely comfortable with, I tend to be Virgo like - shy, feminine, diplomatic, mannered and afraid to look stupid by saying anything wrong. :P Then the safer I feel, the more Arien I get to show.

Some people do seem to not know how to react to my Aries side or lose interest. As for those with whom I could display my Aries side early (like when I met them online first - easier to talk online -, or when they themselves are extroverted easy going people so that I can already get along with easier), sometimes if I become Virgo like, they might also get confused and wonder if something is wrong.

Couldn't agree more.

They fall really easy to the negative side of Neptune unless they are REALLY strong in spirituality.
