Befriended a lot of 1992 monkeys. Also my dad is a monkey. They're all loners who are also happy and fun/playful and are social people. I call them sociable loners ^_^
Most have a lot of friends, but mostly on the surface, or...they are close with them all but only talk to them once in a blue moon. Most have told me they prefer to spend time alone more than with others.

I find that interesting since me being a snake I'm that way, too, and I have found other snakes to be sociable loners too. Lots of friends, seemingly very outgoing, but in reality we're all actually loners, as in we trust very few and enjoy spending time by ourselves MORE than we do with other people.

Something I noticed is along with that, we usually have the same values. A lot are virgins.

EDIT: Also, both seem to want to make an impact on the world, like they really care about society. also both are very curious and love to learn, and read/ponder/theorize

Hi Rassy! My observations on Monkeys:

They are quite bubbly and sociable, definitely people persons, but at the end of the day, all they want to do is unwind and watch the news. They are indeed loners and often have few relationships - if they marry and get divorced, it's pretty rare for them to find someone new. They tend to be scatter brained, but they're also quite smart in their respective fields.

Also off topic, what do you notice is the strongest of the four pillars? Like, I'm a Dog but none of the interpretations really strike a cord with me...I found out that my hour pillar is Rat though, and reading that made much more sense!

Was about to close my computer, y u make dis thread. :P
One last thing,

I wouldn't say I'm a loner.
I don't mind spending a lot time by myself simply because I can entertain myself... Yeah I'm a lot of fun if you haven't noticed by now.
I think people who say their loners, especially the monkeys like the idea of being called a loner because it sounds cool.

Recently I've been doing an internship in another city, so I come back to my apartment and just chill. I've met a few cool people but I don't like the night life here so I choose to spend my free time alone.
I'll probably be more socially active when I go back to school.

This^ !
I find this to be very true, but at the same time I am baffled by how they move on so quickly if they know it will be/has been hard for them to find someone new. They also seem to like their freedom a lot, which also baffles me since itd make more sense to me that you'd be more security conscious/clingy if you find it harder to make true friends.

Hmm, to answer your question, for me it's the Year pillar. LOL sorry! i know that isnt what you wanted to hear at all but then I really dont know. I mean Im a snake year, horse month and rabbit day, goat hour. I identify with the snake's personality and appearance the most. I do think i also relate to a couple horse people i know, and also look like them. But that's about it, i dont relate to the rabbit description very much and dont get along all that well with rabbit people. I get along okay with goat people but find them too shy or inexpressive. I think i can relate to the dreamy aspect of the goat, but the snake personality just describes me 100 percent so well there's no denying it. idk. im sorry i wish i could help and had a better answer : (

hehe well it's not that they ever said they're loners, it's that they seem to be that way since they admit to not having a lot of friends. quite shyly as well, so i know it's true : P
And one told me that he seems to enjoy spending most of his time alone, and said it quite shyly too (i would have never guessed though! i mean he seems the friendliest person and everyone knows him). another told me he's kind of a hermit. And it's obvious with both that they dont have many friends (by their facebook) yet both are so social in real life! i guess maybe theyre only social in school, and dont actually go out a lot outside of school. With the rest they told me they have been hermits most of their life and are only now (in college) getting to have actual friends they can count on and hang out with often. Again, all these people seem so social and fun to be around, everyone knows them.

Ah maybe. I recommend astrologizeme.com and asiaflash.com
Master Rao has some "off the wall" descriptions of chinese signs, you may not have read them before. they go purdy psychologically indepth lol.
He has a pretty harsh description for the snake, too. He pretty much calls us selfish, superficial, and manipulative. Really, because I don't like babies because they're a mess? Hahaha...maybe so, master rao, maybe so. I guess that is kind of superficial/selfish. I def dont like hard work of any kind so i guess he has a point.

ahahah someone asked me why i was standing like a flamingo. haters : P

yeaaah chucks! I know a girl who wears them a lot too and shes awesome. I dont meet that many girls who do. If ur a girl and u wear converse it means u dress casual, and probably fashionably at the same time : P
....equals awesome. I dont like those high maintenance girls.

ive met a lot of dragons who would SEEM to be loners, but theyre so trusting. how can u really call them a loner>? lol. my opinion. They make new friends so easily. Dragons spread the love, and the enthusiasm, man. They're just...it comes so easy to them.

^^ Haha Oh yeah. Too high maintenance can be so tiring.

Although, my sister (the one called Danielle) is one of those girls but because of my epic taste in clothing, she had to listen to me when I'd critique her outfit choices.

I'd sit on her bed and she'd get dressed, then turn to me and sigh saying "Okay, I know you've got something to say about this."

It was my way of sticking it to her since she was so materialistic.

Wow, that's definitely true for me in the sense that people seem to warm to me instantly. Although, I don't let many get too close, like having a revolving front door with people coming in and out haha.

Thanks, RAS!

And PFFFF! People asking why you're standing like that. I hope your answer was "Cause I'm awesome!"

RAS; Well I read the asiaflash report on dog and things that seem accurate:

-fights with conviction and tenacity; strong beliefs and sense of justice
-excels in anything involving a crowd; talented and enthusiastic in persuasion and leadership
-optimal careers involving helping people; teaching, medicine, law, even going overseas

But things that miss...

-very honest with unwavering sense of duty and trustworthiness (it's more like you gotta give me a reason to hahA!)
-deeply empathetic to worldly suffering; social injustice, intolerance, wickedness
-pragmatic and habitual

yes!! thats it. people warm up quickly to dragons!

because they see the best in everyone. i agree about the not letting ppl get too close. dragons are proud and sometimes that means it being hard to be vulnerable and share secrets and rly let down ur guard. but they always make friends so easily, that they can pick and choose best friends im sure. lol.

That seems to describe me (1980 Metal Monkey).
Maybe that's why I married a 1977 Fire Snake.

I can't really come to the conclusion that Monkeys are loners, although my Earth wife prefers to be a loner, preferring to spend time only with family and extremely close friends, but yet paradoxically is highly sociable, cheerful and optimistic.
