Even I didn't exactly do what you were referring to anyway in the OP. My problem is with uncertainty, not over-promising.

I'm absolutely not generalizing as I have made no statement that this is a rule. This is something I noticed as a pattern with people I know and wanted to ask people who had this aspect if the could identify this in themselves and if so what their perception was on their own behavior. If you don't have this aspect, you're not who I'm looking for. If you do and you don't identify with this behavior, you're not who I'm looking for.

BUT YOU were exactly who I was looking for.

One person I'm thinking of says the same thing "uncertainty". Invaluable exchange. Once again, thank you.

I'm done, a human
Because most humans do it. For what I said before, survival.
So this makes it generalized.

EVEN MORE INTERESTING AND TELLING!!!

"Saturn, the planet of time, prudence, and effort, may express himself in a tricky way when he is unaspected. Inhibition, inferiority complex, melancholy, and failures are the negative characteristics of this planet of ill repute."

The word failure definitely rings a bell!!! Remember that google scandal?! Type failure, click I'm feeling lucky, and end up at whitehouse.gov?
He's the reason they took that feature out.

They over-promise and under-deliver. - This is exactly what I told my ex when I was breaking up with him. Word for word. I just went to look at his chart... Mercury conjunct Neptune 4 degrees.

Well, theres one of my experiences to add to the study.

and what about his saturn? I think we could be on to something here… cause I don't think this aspect stands alone, cause if there is several saturn aspects involved and aspecting mercury as well, I don't think it's the same…saturn is really restrictive and disciplinary, so combined with this I don't think a person could make themselves lie to others… I have mercury square saturn myself and 3 planets in caprcicorn (neptune, saturn and uranus) and I cannot lie overly much, though I admit that I have a tendency to "bend the truth" and under-deliver(maybe, I could also just be self critical right now)

Saturn trine mars, sextile sun and sextile jupiter. No hard aspects to saturn. For mercury it only conjunct neptune and trine pluto.

Thank you, ma'am. Certainly appreciated. Have you added this aspect to your forbidden fruit list?

This is what I've been thinking, but I have to find the Mercury-Neptune people first. I have mercury trine Neptune and Mercury Sextile Saturn. When I SHOULD lie, I don't. Like Mercurian Intellect said. Defense mechanism. I don't have whatever self preservation aspect is needed to lie.

That's fine. But some of the issues/confusing on this thread is that over promising/breaking promises/under delivering and lying are not (necessarily) the same thing.

Hardest I laughed all day

Thank you!!

I do need to look up a pettiness aspect. I'll admit that my polarity for importance is different from others. You planned a dinner with me and can't make it? Bad, but not too bad. You didn't say good morning? Colombian neck-tie

You can make that assertation/debate, but that's irrelevant to the study.

that is extremely interesting too. I have a theory that mercury aspecting saturn people have a more structured and disciplined mind…they don't like lying, they just wan't to see things as they are.

Ignoring results you don't like is not very scientific.

As was said above, Neptune is about blurring reality. The person making the "over promise" in most cases probably believes what they are saying at the time they say it and if you are going to push it, they may even think the lie is the truth.

Is the dream really a lie? Not if the intent is not to be false, can it really be a lie?

Me too…when I actually would like to lie, I just don't cause it's actually just easier to tell the truth in the end…
But I do tend to exaggerate numbers or feelings in particular, if I think something is expensive for an example, I will tell people "OMG this shoe just costs like a thousand" when it's maybe only 500…

If I'm unsure if a person hates me or not, I'll tell people "She hates me a lot, she told me all these things like she didn't care for me at all" when in reality, she wasn't saying anything with words, but she definitely looked like she could kill me with her eyes….and stuff like that!
