I agree with this, I am the same. It helps that by this age I have come to experience a very wide range of human emotions, so I can relate well with almost anyone.

Now I must know what it feels like to be water void! lol

I know this will be a contentious statement but water voids are the only void that argue about it

Offhand I only know one person who is a complete water void (even including Asc, NN, etc). I haven't found it all that obvious, but then he's a boy (currently 12) with A LOT of Leo (Sun, merc, Mars, Jupiter) plus other fire and air and a bit of earth he can pull of the masculine traits naturally and the fire lets you know what he's feeling as the Leo in him roars.

He tends to be helpful in a haphazard manner (Virgo Venus?) and he's also one to stand up to bullies. That doesn't mean he's "sensitive" as some boys seek the spotlight and even social power by being the one other boys go to in order to get things done (and perhaps proving himself to females as well or at least an excuse to hang around those that interest him), and defending other boys is another way to become a leader. I know he shares an interest in being a hero with other boys and that may play into it, or how he used to idolize Harry Potter. (He had a problem with bullies for a short while and maybe his standing up to bullies on behalf of others is also his way of saying "never again" to remind himself he has the power now, not them, and his Leo makes him want to establish his authority.)

Perhaps the water void will become more apparent as he gets older but he seems a normal boy, both smart (he's got plenty of Aquarius and Gemini) and athletic. He has some fiery passions and feelings that he expresses vividly, but again so do many boys. And if he misses a lot of social cues and isn't that sensitive to how others are feeling, well that's pretty normal for a boy, too.

I can see what Ami was saying too, about them being unaware of their lack, especially with water because it is more unconscious than the rest. He does miss *some* emotional cues, but not all. But he thinks they ARE important..

my point is that the emotional cues he misses, he might have not considered them of great importance.

I think earth people are very detailed. We notice everything. But as we grow older, we are biased against mushy emotions and are used to dismiss certain things. Over time, when someone exhibits these cues, we dismiss them. Of course, if you bring the *missed cues to the attention of an earth person, he/she would be practical enough to acknowledge the other person and change behaviors. As it is the practical thing to do.

I would say that the people who really miss cues are people with heavy air and fire.

Anyway, to go back to your original question about what it feels to be water void, I have pluto in scorpio on my dsc but otherwise, I am full on earth and air (minus aries moon). I do feel things but I do not mull over them. My daily actions are not affected by my emotions. For example, I work out the same time every week whether I feel horrible or good. A person with heavy cancer or water influences would not do that. Cancer mars are known for doing things when they feel like it.
I also want to project the image that I am stable, earthy and intelligent (air). In contrast, a watery person would want to appear empathetic.
everything with earth moves slowly, so anger is not going to be explosions. Drives come slowly, methodologically, step-by-step. Everything needs to be expressed on the material/physical plane.

Wow! I don't think I have ever met a water void person either, before him. He has a little boy too, which was deeply affected in the divorce. The way he talks about his son is so deeply touching and sensitive.. I was shocked to see he has no water.

I think you described him very well. But you see, what really puzzles me about him is his interest in other people's emotions and inner lives. He is very close to his employees, for example, always knows if they are having problems at home, personal hardships etc but he tries to help them in a practical manner - because that is what Earth people do. I have not known him for a super long time, but we got close very fast and he always asks very personal questions, about deep emotional issues, and he talks freely about his (he is recently divorced and surprisingly has been very open about what he is feeling). We have heavy water houses overlay and the composite oozes water in water houses. Like I said, very weird because he lacks water, I am low on it (I am 70% FIRE haha - but to my defense I don't *think* I miss cues lol; I have an exact Moon-Neptune in Sag, I tune in very easily - but like Hanna said, I need to have felt before what you feel now, in order to relate).

oh, most earth people I know worry about how others feel all the time (and I know a lot of them because I find heavy air/fire people too flaky). This is not the caring concern of watery people; it's just a practical step to make sure people are ok. It's common sense. Earthy people know other people are more emotionally volatile than we are and we eventually learn that to minimize any problem in relationships, we need to know how the other person feels, whether the other person has any complaint so we can resolve them as quickly as possible. And since we cannot intuit quickly like a water person would (scorpio especially), we need to ask. That's the only way we know lol

I mean the fact that we do not provide consolation or some way to heal the other person but would instead do practical things mean that we do not completely *Get how a water person feels.

I think earth people pretty much learn how they should react through experiences

Faith, THANK you! Cancer Asc helps, but it doesn't take away his "voidedness". It seems it is easier for people who have an angle or Node in the lacking element, to express it. A lot easier than those who don't. I agree with a lot of what you said, he seems like that too. He relates to some people, but he's very critical of others, while I generally try to extend similar empathy towards all. He loathes his ex wife, I imagine that anger is so very hard for him to deal with. He tried therapy but said he feels he's not being helped or he's not fully there yet. I personally can try and to some extent can understand why she left him, I'm pretty sure he is oblivious to it and it will shock him if I tell him. I tried to tiptoe in that subject but he simply thinks she is a crazy b#$@h and that's the end of discussion. -_-

I see.. that makes a lot of sense, actually. But it still leaves me with my question: what the heck do these people FEEL?!

lol. what do you mean?

I mean depending on his moon, venus, mars, etc...

But the person might be very concerned with stability and security, hence would feel unsettled if the physical needs are not met. If that is the way he relates to his needs, he would think that to nurture others, providing practical things is a good idea.

We have feelings like any other person, but the feelings are not expressed in the firey or airy or watery way (i.e., not overly zealous, not light-hearted, or not feel like tidal waves in our body).

Everything is physical. If I get the wrong vibe from someone, it is because I think the person is not reliable, does not have *substance*.

Another thing with earth signs (a little less so with Virgo) is possessiveness. Not in the scorpio way, but more like what is mine is mine.

All of this depends on the chart, especially what happens to his moon, venus, and sun.

Must be hard to just NOT have a sense that other people have. I feel badly for the man you're dating...if he can't honestly understand his ex's point of view, and is therefore just bewildered and left angry.

If my husband left me (he wouldn't) but if he did...I dunno...part of my resolution/healing process would be to draw on my empathy for him. Without that, I would be at a huge disadvantage.

He is a lot like that, theunknown. He has a Cap Sun-Mercury-Jupiter-NN stellium in his 5th; Cap Venus in his 4th; Taurus Moon in his 9th.

I never meant to imply Water voids/low people don't have emotions - I know very well that they do, mine are very overwhelming sometimes, but well, I am a fireball, they burn me from the inside out.

I guess I am really concerned about our emotional/intimate interaction, considering individually we both have very little/no water, but a very watery connection.. It is pretty out of our comfort zones and I have to wonder if I'm the one left to do the overextending because I have *some* while he has none/is oblivious to it/thinks it's not essential.

I agree that it is unfortunate he is unable to see his ex-wife's pov. It would help him heal, I agree.

oh, im not offended at all. Im just not clear what you were asking.

Generally, a cap and a cap venus would take a long time to warm up. We feel deeply but the way we express it is to be really reliable, by your side, provide everything you need, ask if you are ok.

If these signs are there, trust me, he cares. And since he is a cap, he will try to plan to do things with you.

Cap venus do not talk much or text much. Just watch what he does for you

I was asking what Water Voids feel. It is unclear to me how they manage their feelings and how they can become so very good at expressing emotion, through various means of overcompensation. I understand that because of his Earth he will manage emotions in a practical way.. but I still want to know what he feels inside. I would like one day to be let in on it. It would be nice.
I have dated Earth, Air and Water people extensively. Probably because I am low on all those, I have not dated fire people half as much as these people. I have a little bit of experience, though I have not dated a Cap before and I also have my Cap rising conjunct his Sun - so I get him, well, sometimes. The slow warming up part is going to drive me nuts. I have 3 Aries planets lol, I am very black/white, yes/no and when I want answers (sorry, DEMAND them), it has to be NOW. lol We definitely have our challenges. Both of us. Yet this feels good on some level - and important.
He does the things you mentioned. We're not seeing much of each other lately because I'm studying for a huge exam (except for today lol ) and he is a major workaholic. Probably the biggest one I have ever met and I will most likely have issues with it. I understand work is important, I am a career woman myself, but he works three friggin jobs. Three. We do text and talk quite a bit on the phone though, despite not being in physical contact right now.
I have my doubts about his readiness to be in a relationship again, so for once I am not going to rush things. I know he needs time. For now we are very good friends and it is wonderful even so. But I do want more and I will probably not wait too much for it, that is true, flaky as it may seem to him, my clock is ticking since a decade ago.

My only water is Pluto, Chiron and DSC! I guess it would count for a water void, since Pluto is a generational planet.

But i am not emotionless. With all that air in my chart you could really expect that, but i have really deep and stormy emotions, every day. I just don't show them off. Yes, i can tell without doubt that i am a very emotional girl.

This is due to my Moon square Pluto, btw.

Well, since he is a cap with cap venus, and I have cap venus, I will speak for these placements.

I think cap people are very self-critical. Of course his moon in taurus would make him emotionally stable (unless opposite pluto) and very sensual. But cap venus would take a lot of things personally. We don't really "manage" emotions, we express them slowly and we are slow to react. We might self-therapy by running, walking or doing practical things for ourselves. Lol.

If someone rejects a cap venus, he/she would think about all his/her flaws. We dont tend to blame others for our problems because we are self-reliant. We will go home, think about our perceived flaws for years and try to change it (Cap is cardinal).

I only have taurus ascendant but I think Taurus likes things to be sensual and real. Things that are real, comfy, nice texture just feel good. The keys to earth signs are all the senses (touch, smell, look, etc..)

I would suggest that you listen to songs written by cap/cap venus and you will have a clearer insight.

The Angles don't count toward water voids although these people seem to have a certain pattern from no element and the ASC as the element.

I don't have time to describe it now.

Hey that's close enough for my blood!!
Potentially long post....

First I'll give you the condition of my moon and then any water

Moon in Gemini (9th)
Square Mars and Mercury in Virgo (12th)
Trine Uranus in Scorpio (2nd)
Sextile sun in Leo (11th)

Cancer MC

Water houses:
Jupiter in 8th
Mars/mercury/Venus 12th

There's basically three stages that I went through. (I think)
From childhood until 18ish years old:
I was just EXTREMELY emotional. Like, totally out of control. I had such intense, crazy emotions. I would fly off the handle. Hitting, throwing... lots of stuff. I put a lot of holes in the walls! Punched tv's. Broke my hand once. I had deep DEEEEEP depression. I've struggled with that quite a bit. It's been one of my biggest hurdles in life. To me, my theory is, while everyone and every moon is different. My Gemini moon DOES feel emotions, despite it's reputation. It's just that they would fluctuate AND I don't think Gemini honestly knew how to get them under control. Like, trying to round up a pack of wolves, Gem moon just said "F**k it."

Then, a shorter period. It's hard to define it.
But I went through the MOST intense hatred. I could have been a psycho killer that climbed a bell tower kind of hatred. I hated everyone, I hated everything. I hated life. Just so much anger. I'm no psychologist, but now I take it as a period where I began to really hate feeling out of control. As it happened, feeling so much hatred was a constant. Not healthy, but it was steady.

Then, over the years, particularly the last 2-3 years.
Much much more healthy. I did struggle with a period where I felt nothing. I killed off emotion. It was nice in the sense that I wasn't out of control and I didn't have too much of anything negative. The problem was that the good died with it. I was empty. No smiles, I wouldn't laugh. I didn't get excited about stuff, but I didn't get angry too much.
It took some practice, some trial and error to figure things out. Over the years I've began to really be able to TRULY enjoy life, as I believe I'm supposed to. To feel excitement, to feel angry, but to let it out in more constructive ways. Healthier ways, and have that release. Now I'm actually able to calm others and be the steady one, in control. It took a long time, way too long, but I'm here. I'm happy about that.

There's really only one or two things. I still dislike too much emotion. I still flinch when I feel myself getting deeply emotional. A little is ok. I HATE crying. I fight it.
The other, I suppose bad thing is my "Freeze". (Hence, the name) Example, my step mom upset me by being deliberately... antagonizing. I wrote her a nasty message around June 1st and then I haven't had anything to do with her. She sent me a card and money for my birthday but I just tossed it and carried on. I haven't completely killed her off in my mind, but I'm not done with this yet. (and two of my aunts)
My niece got married last Saturday, my step-mom was there and one aunt. The aunt gave a little wave at me but I just looked away.
If someone were to venture into the very DEEPEST part of my heart, there is anger there, and LOTS of it.
But to me, what I feel inside and what I give off is COMPLETE coldness.

Whew!!
Hope that wasn't too long!
