Hmmm really?? You get an earth vibe from him? His chart doesn't have a whole lot of earth but his moon IS in Taurus... maybe that's the vibe you're picking up on?

He is actually Plutonian (Scorpio sun, Mercury and Pluto in Scorpio) and Venusian (Taurus moon, Venus and Mars in Libra) more than anything.

I have a buddy who is Scorpio Sun and Taurus Moon, kinda has the same nose as your guy.

I was at Hollywood's Guitar Center yesterday, sampled some strats and teles (among other guitars), but they seemed too "stiff" and, dare I say, "lifeless" or lacking the amount of character I'm accustomed to
Idk what it was, but when I got home I played the same material on my strat and it sounded much better; it was singing and had that extra "oomph". I find it strange, to say the least

As for the guitars at the store sounding dead, I find that seems to be true with a lot of new guitars. Sometimes, they need to be played and get the wood vibrating before they wake up. Strats seem to vary a lot due to the different pieces of wood used in each one. So it's also a matter of good ones and bad ones.
