Great topic, right?

Sorry, my question is not meant to insult Scorpios, because I actually love and admire them. Like Doux. Hi Doux. You're great.

My question is...

When you are in love with a Scorpio, or 8H person, or Venus-Pluto type...you get my drift...

Should you expect that their attentions are actually going to penetrate you to the point of pain?

Does Scorpio equate love with pain? Do Scorpio jabs even feel so personal that they are like a form of affection, because they show such close attention to you?

For me, short answer - no.

I've been in love with and/or loved by three Scorpio Venus's, one with Scorpio mercury and Sun also. (not sure off hand if anyone else had pluto contacts in natal)

Also, I don't know about love, but very close/intimate relationship with two Scorpio moons.

The scorpio Venus's especially were very intensely devoted. When they love you, if you were to go blind, they'd absolutely donate one of their eyes to you without much thought. You are as important to them, if not sometimes more so, than they are to themselves. To me, they don't seem strong and frightening in any sense, but fragile. I always get the sense that when they trust you, power is given to you by the fact that they can put you on a pedestal. That's been my experience.

The Venus's in my experience have been the ones most tilted towards revenge if you wrong them. I did wrong one, badly, and she tried for months to "pay me back."

The moons that I knew, they simply shut off and went cold when things went sour.
The one Sun (who had Mercury and Venus) We had a peaceful break-up and remained friends.

I picture them as being the more vulnerable once they've let you in. They just feel so intensely and will go to the ends of the earth for the one they love. I think the toughness is a front for a soft underbelly. For some, it may be a scary thought to have someone so focused on you. For me, I love it.

That's of course nothing that I've read about, etc.
It's my 2 cents given from my personal experience.

One of the moons was really tough to get close to, as she had been hurt recently.
It depends on how guarded they are.

LOL

I do have an experience with someone that has confounded me.

I think I accidentally hurt them because I could not READ their boundaries, so I crossed the boundaries (I think?)...and I only knew or suspected that they cared when they shut me out, like a penalty.

ETA: So the penalty both hurt and felt good...in a twisted way.

LOL ...uh...

I don't want to get into it.

All I meant was, they were so secretive, I didn't know where I stood, and only when they stung me did I realize, they might've cared. (Or maybe not!)

Then I was talking to a friend who's going through a similar thing with a Scorpio Venus. 'Trying to read the signposts.

ETA:

Actually I've had more than one experience that compelled me to open this topic.

Yeah I was kidding of course.
I know what you mean.
One Scorpio moon was that way. I knew she cared and it got on my nerves that she wouldn't just open up.
I'm a bad guy I suppose because she never got a chance to sting. I got the claws out first.
Quicker on the draw I guess.

Yeah, they don't open up, that's part of it.

But then sometimes it feels like they are just tinkering with your psyche and expect you to capitulate under the power of that, and admit your feelings first.

Eh once upon a time I got involved with a Scorpio (multiple scorp placements) and his "intensity" felt invasive. Flipped out big time when I shut him out.

One time it was a scorp venus conjunct pluto. It didn't work out well. No jabs from this person.

My husband has a little 8th house stellium, and scorpio mercury conjunct pluto on his MC. Pluto dominant. He likes to seek and to find his way into the depth of my mind. I think this trait aligns with the general description of how pluto influenced natives may like to investigate.

Jabs are plentiful. The point isn't about inflicting pains. It's to catch me off guard or to provoke reactions. Because there are certain things that only come out when I'm provoked. There are certain parts of my mind that I don't even know about. So he pushes and pushes in an attempt to figure me out, to know all about me. He once said that it fascinates him. He maps my mind, trying to see patterns, even draws up little charts. Adorable.

Beneath the surface I'm just a big ball of vague feelings, colorful dreams and other cloudy stuff. So to him it's like a magic hat, one never knows what comes out next.

It's not as crazy as it sounds haha I'm used to his quirky ways.

I have a Scorpio ascendant, and Moon/Venus in the 8th. I don't think that it should be painful, if someone likes you or loves you. I think that you should feel safer, more grounded, but also "free" in a way. I guess that's my Gemini Venus, shining through, and all of my Uranus...

I was rarely even sarcastic when I was younger. We had someone here last week, who felt the need to provoke everyone - that isn't what I see friendship or love to be about, at all. I might respond in a more hurtful manner, if I liked the person who was rude to me, though - and depending on what has been flung my way.

I was reading something on another board, about people working against you, or hating you for whatever reason, shows that you're relevant. That you matter. All this time, over the past few years, when I've felt that I don't really matter much at all - how relevant can you be, when people go along with those who turn against you? (Not you, I'm talking about me - but I know what you're getting at here. Different, but the same in that you did matter. I need tea.)

I'll let you know if I survive...

J/k ;o

To understand any initial Venus behavior, we need to remember that all personal planets, are firstly instinctual planets. Instincts being that part of our nature that reacts for survival. Thus, with Venus, we are all attached to a certain sign and archetype that we feel we need to survive. For Leo, it's the ego and drama, for Pisces, it could be the peacemaker, for Taurus, it's physical security and for Scorpio, it's emotional security or psychic security.

So to understand Scorpio in love regardless of sign or aspect, we need to see that their approach to any interaction where they can get hurt is based on withdrawal, observation and penetration. It's like the master strategist that wins the chess game only because they're playing for both sides and therefore can 'control' the game. But life and love isn't like that so they come up with manipulations and tests that they attempt to use to 'control' the game. Trying to control the uncontrollable is their ultimate life lesson and as they release controlling everything they can't, they gain control of the only thing that ever mattered, their own intense natures.

You can be with a Scorpio for 50+ years, dying side by side in bed and it wouldn't surprise anyone if they turned to look at you and instead of saying 'I love you...', ask 'Did you really love me?'.

My Sag Venus has opted for lighter relationships, too....

Of course you matter and sometimes I think when you are truly in the right, people fight that hardest of all...because their pride doesn't want to admit they were outdone by someone who took the gentle approach, someone they were projecting things onto all along. That gets complicated but I hope you know what I mean.

I feel bad counter-dissecting them after reading your post.

I don't think so with regards to penetrating or trying to hurt. But Scorps do smother you when they love you. I dig that about them.

I'll come back to your intriguing Scorpios and thread but I wanted to say something about this...the way I see it

'Did you really love me?'.

I see this as drama "queening" provocation. Or let's say to provoke drama, intensity, intrigue, CRISIS. Scorpios thrive on this little list. Their suspicion is genuine when things actually happen and their intuition lightens up; the rest...is just replicating the intensity of these dark feelings they feed on, to feel alive. The necessary drama, intrigue, danger, passion, forbidden, on the edge of...everything.
Can't fool a drama queen + 8th/7th with this

Lifelong experience with Scorpios (family included) and Sun Venus Mercury Mars Pluto stellium in the 8th.

Testing is only a percentage (depending on the stage of the relationship), the core is this, IMO. When and if they (or shall I say we? hahahaha) torment you, it's because they belong in a Russian novel, emotionally

Thanks Lee

Is Juno part of your stellium?

I've noticed some of this, yes.

Not in the Scorpio suns as much as other placements.

I think it's an unconscious pull, rather than conscious, and it's just a part of the personality, not necessarily about happiness.
it's not something negative though, I didn't mean for it to sound negative.

Faith, my Juno is in Pisces on your Moon is I remember correctly, rather exact...conj Jupiter, opp Venus, sq Eros and sq Neptune, trine Saturn and Vesta (a GT) etc etc you want more?
Why Juno??
