Well, I disagree with you, LEXX. A book is way different from a teaching relationship. I don't care if people charge for services. That's their business. I'm just making sure we get it correct as it relates to what Linda said. The only debate is really what constitutes a teacher/student with esoteric studies. Some would argue that astrology, lexigrams, or a host of other things do not. But there is no contradiction with what Linda said.

It is a subject that is HARD. That was why I was asking about it.
There are no easy answers.
My view of God is that he wants every person to have enough resources to meet their needs, not live hurting and struggling.
As far as being paid for spiritual things, I am on a journey on how to structure MY particular contribution to others.
I listen to people I respect like Randall and Lalalinda.
I value their input.
That helps me on my way.

Ami, you said you're not hurting for money though, at all. So, why does it sound as if you're going to use YOUR contributions that way, for basic necessities?

At the start, you said you didn't need the money. So, why keep the money from the readings?

It just comes off highly manipulative. I can see LEXX's argument that some have a skill and that may just be their only source of income.

But, in your situation, it's totally different, from your own words. And, yet you group yourself in with the impoverished readers of the world.

Kill two birds with one stone...

You get a serious client, and the money (which was said to be un-needed) goes to someone who does need the money, very badly.

So if
I were to charge,
I should donate all my time and money to charity?
I DO need the money very badly.
The people on welfare eat and live better than me.
They get free medical care and food stamps, house repairs, you name it.
Free college too.
Whilst I spend over 1/2 my income on medical, never having enough to fix my roof, my chimney, my broken steps, my dangerous knob and tube wiring, my toilet which is about to go through floor...my old bathtub with duct tape repairs, no sinks only a tub to do dishes in, bathe, and drinking water from it and cooking water.
Wearing contact lenses 3 to 6 months instead of 1, a duct taped mattress, and more shite.
And still I give and give and give without charging folks.
When do I reap any tangible benefits?
Why should I give to charity when I can barely care for me?
I am still doing for free, as I have for decades.
Maybe that makes me a fool.
I sure am in much need and no clear end to that hardship in sight.
Sigh
at least for the time being I am not living on the streets and eating out of dumpsters still.
And yeah.....I gave free readings then too.

PS. I cannot rent.
Rent is more than my house payment on this shack I live in that is in danger of being condemned by the city.
If that were to happen, lets just say, I'd be in a world of hurt.

Again, do what you want. But, just be honest about it. If you want to make money off medical intuitive readings, just say it. That way you choose a path and accept the consequences of intent.

LEXX, you do not have to live by Linda's standards. I was just setting the record straight about what Linda truly said. There really should be no stress over it. A lot of people would agree with you about what constitutes a service and how it's not an esoteric teacher/student relationship. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Wow, I mean you asked for opinions why even ask? That offends me quite a bit just when I think maybe you aren't thinking you're above the rest of us- you gotta go and prove me wrong again. I'm sorry I even took the time to assume my opinion counted. Maybe next time label it Lala and Randall please reply. Maybe then you wouldn't have to disregard the other 20 replies you got.

LEXX, I can see the spiritual link to Lexigrams, but they don't exactly seem to me like a psychic reading where you're advising people on how to live their lives, or anything.

But, since we're talking about it, there must be a reason you haven't charged for your readings? Have you not because of your own apprehension?

Again, I think it's just important to survive. If you're dirt broke, then of course, use the skills that you have.

She often says this, and acts as if she doesn't want other opinions, though she freely gives hers on our threads. I, personally, am used to this sort of rudeness. Like water off a ducks back

I have learned to kick aside certain people
People must earn my respect and my regard.
Randall and Lalalinda have.
That is life.

That is why I respect some people and don't respect others.

Thank Randall.
I just get so exhausted trying to have quality in my life, a thing I have very little of.
Sorry, just feeling very touchy and having no clear indications things will ever improve is depressing.
I am sooo fraking tired of struggling financially and being disabled.
Sorry.....
going gloomy here again.
Sorry.
I know I have books I am working on but my environment sucks and being disabled is not being helped by living conditions and helping me have the energy and will to finish the books.
Sorry
rant over.
I am bummed out for now.
And feel embarrassed to boot.
I sound utterly pitiful, a real loser in life.

LEXX,

You're not a loser. I know your situation is bad, and I hope I didn't put another pinch in the pain that you're going through.

If I were in your situation I would do anything I had to do to survive, honestly.

Note: And, I wouldn't give a rat's arse what other people thought!

Ami, you really shouldn't post a string asking for advice and then get upset when you receive it. Everyone has opinions. Some will differ from our own. Such is life.
