That's quite an old thread!
And what an unexpected bump; by Brontex out of all people!

Life's treating you badly, buddy? Pink Floyd + alcohol, sounds like a perfect mix for some blues! Cheer up, Mr Smirk.

Thanks for the songs, Ellyn & Prism.

Badly? Never. Life's just been keeping me on my toes as usual.

Guess I did need to unplug and wander off for a while though. (Or about a year as it turns out.) But then a couple weeks ago I started getting these weird little signs that I should drop in and see what's been going on around here.

Probably just Mercury Retrograde in Cancer...

Retro Cancer Mercury it is!

Signs, huh? Interesting.

Lovely piece, thanks. Listened to it twice today while peeling/cutting some veggies. Yay!

He was with me when I Graduated and got my Degree.

Same year Gilli was born.

You know how Graduation gives you Goosebumps, even before they play that song?

When we were on the way to my Second Daughter's (Gil's) Graduation the other day, my Son unexpectedly popped up with this song.

My Brother Larry Lee loved that Tesla tape so much that he talked me out of it whenever it came out.

So it was kind of like he was Ghost-Riding Between Takes, if you know what I mean...

Still on your Maynard kick, I see

Glad you enjoyed the jazz album. Here's something a little different: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwCiEFarL90&index=2&list=ALNb4maWNoT6T6dAjfZltJoe-3 nOyNgGTW

Just out of curiosity -- I know French cuisine can be a little involved -- but how in the hell did you spend two hours prepping veggies?

Ahaha, yes, old habits die hard.
Why so smirky?
The guy rules, not my fault.

Ahh, well, it wasn't exactly French cuisine; something else, don't know how to call it exactly - a type of salad, with all kinds of veggies in there, and there was a big amount (it wasn't only for myself). And I'm not too used to cooking so it takes time sometimes.

You tend to listen to music that's kind of sad. At least the way I see (hear) it. (It's nice nonetheless.)

What have you been up to? Last time you were here I think you had moved out/in a new house (?) or am I mixing things up.

No, you're not mixing things up---that was me. I was living by myself in this huge 4/5 bedroom house. It was a weird mix of me getting a really good deal while at the same time doing someone else a really big favor. Ultimately though it was all just too much for one person to manage alone, so when the opportunity to get out of there came up I jumped on it.

That in turn set off a whole other chain of events: I downsized to a small, low-maintenance 2-bedroom apartment and finally decided once and for all that I was sick of doing "creative" freelance work for a full-time living. So now I'm back in school with about a year left on an applied science/engineering degree. It's kind of like I had a premature reverse midlife crisis. Either that or my left-brain just needed some serious attention.

Yeah, I suppose so. It's just what I tend to enjoy. Maybe it's the retrograde Scorpio Mercury?

Oh, I see.
As long as you're happy with your decision, it's all that matters.
Science/engineering sounds pretty complex, well to me at least. But I'm sure you'll manage, now that your left brain is at work. =)

I have the same Mercury as you but a few degrees farther - 10°. I like all kinds of things when it comes to music, depends on my mood; but I don't usually listen to sad songs because I don't do well with sadness and all that. Unless I want to reconnect with some painful feelings (doesn't happen often), then I listen to Low (works every damn time!).

I think I like the original by B.Sabbath better. But it's a nice cover, thanks.

I was listening to some Jeff Buckley (actually my favorite singer next to Maynard) and then got curious about his father's music, Tim Buckley, and it's not bad at all.

Morning Glory

He has some funky stuff as well, which is awesome, but I'm not sure it's your type of thing.

I try to avoid letting myself get too happy or sad about anything. (The key word there being "try.") But working with tangible things like glass, metal and plastic has been a nice change of pace after mostly working with ideas for such a long time.

Jeff Buckley, eh? And you think I listen to depressing music . I hadn't heard his father's stuff. You're right---not bad. Wouldn't have guessed you for a folk music kinda girl.

For some reason the first track on this playlist (and the movie its from) makes me think of listening to too much folk music (plus too much acid and too many psych classes, plus the '80s).

It's all about balance, eh?
Working with hands probably fits your 6th house. And change is good sometimes.

I don't listen to that kind of thing often, but it does happen.
I can be pretty multifaceted, I guess. Sometimes.

Well that playlist wasn't creepy at all... especially Track 7. I bet the movie kills.
So that's what you drug yourself with, huh!

Can't think of anything to share at the moment.
