you do realize that akin and ryan TOGETHER worked up bills on minimizing if not completely outlawing abortion, do you?

the reason everyone jumped on him - not dems but his own party - is that he is not supposed to say OUT LOUD what is coming up. they may not believe in "legitimate rape" but they don't believe abortion is permissable either.

potential citizens outvoting real, live ones; what a mindset.

and the coffee smells fine every morning at my house, ami. apparently you don't even get bored with the same old cliche day in and day out.

by the way, YOU were born in the year of the sheep; you consider yourself one of God's sheep; and you subscribe to FOLLOW those, like rush and jwhop, who are happy to speak for you.

so i think it ludicrous that you would call others "sheeple". maybe do some of your own homework before you start throwing rocks out of that glass house?

Not just nonsense but utter nonsense.

Akin doesn't represent the views of the Republican party or Paul Ryan or Mitt Romney.

No Republican office holder will campaign with Akin or give him money, nor will the RNC or the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee.

On the other hand, Al "Loud Mouth" Frankan who talked about raping Leslie Stahl and posing her for naked pictures afterwards is out campaigning on the very same stage with the odious Joe "Plugs" O'Biden.

There's a very strong stench of hypocrisy in the air and if you just follow your nose, it leads you straight to demoscats.

a sense of humour, jwhop, differentiates the two by miles. franken was joking, akin was exposing covert agenda. the republican PLATFORM is pushing for abolishing abortion altogether, and he just gave his version of why.

the fact that he is medically an ignoramus and used "legitimate" instead of "feigned" to describe rape has made him a festering wound, of COURSE the others are all out to throw him under the bus. but the reversal of roe v wade is in the sights of the party's shooters.

here's another bozo:

A congressional candidate running as a Republican in the upcoming Illinois primary says the “Holocaust never happened.”

Arthur Jones, 64, a Lyons, IL, insurance salesman who organizes family-friendly, neo-Nazi events around Adolf Hitler’s birthday, hopes to be the Republican candidate chosen to run against Democratic Congressman Dan Lipinski in Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District.

“As far as I’...m concerned, the Holocaust is nothing more than an international extortion racket by the Jews,” Jones said. “It’s the blackest lie in history. Millions of dollars are being made by Jews telling this tale of woe and misfortune in books, movies, plays and TV.

"The more survivors, the more lies that are told. http://oaklawn.patch.com/articles/republican-congressional-candidate-says-ho locaust-never-happened

even david icke, who has been mistakenly accused of accusing "jews" in general of trying to grab the world for themselves, has never gone THIS far.

and i have never heard of a democrat who would agree with this outlandish theory. it is right in line with the pressure brought in some places by extremist muslims to alter school curriculum to leave the holocaust out altogether...

yes indeed, though akin made a prize fool of himself, he also outted his party's position on abortion, which is why they not only condemned his stoopid words but wanted him out altogether. he might have called attention to this:

CBS News) As Republicans across the country call on fellow Republican Todd Akin to withdraw from the Missouri Senate race over controversial comments he made on rape and abortion, the Republican Party on Tuesday quietly approved a platform that calls for a constitutional amendment banning abortion, and which does not provide exceptions for victims of rape or incest, or to save the life of the mother.

The language, which is the same as in the party's 2004 and 2008 platform, was passed on Tuesday without discussion.

The party platform states that "the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed."

"We support a human life amendment to the Constitution, and we endorse legislation to make clear that the 14th Amendment's protections apply to unborn children. We oppose using public revenues to promote or perform abortion and will not fund organizations which advocate it," says the platform. "At its core abortion is a fundamental assault on the sanctity of innocent human life. Women deserve better than abortion."

Cases of rape and incest or in which the mother's life is in danger are not addressed in the platform, which implies there are no exceptions in those cases

already we have people trying to make law that a ZYGOTE is a human life, birth control that interrupts the fertilization process should be illegal...soon crossing one's legs will be deemed treason in some homes!

meanwhile i saw a story about human clones having been created the other day. it was in the DAILY MAIL UK, so i question its reality, but i suspect as soon as we have clones, it will become murder to abort one of them as well...

when a cat has kittens she sometimes eats the lot, other times finds ways to "lose" one or two to save the others...where are the cat police???? is this cruelty or survival of the species? who gets to decide? MOTHER, that's who. for whatever reason she sees fit, and AFTER they are born.

by the very same token these "right to birth -ers" insist that the parents have all rights over the child once alive. the govt should not protect children from the beliefs of their parents, whether that means dying of diabetes because "the lord will provide" or beating the devil out of them, or not sending them to "those commie schools". once you're out, the government's job is done?

just for the record, i think the school system sucks. still it provides for those who couldn't afford any other education before the system started up.

That's rich. Anyone can run as a candidate for any party they wish...or didn't you know that...along with all the other facts you don't know?

So you've got a screw loose guy who says the holocaust never happened and he's running as a republican. BFD. Get back to me when he's elected.

David Duke...KKK tried to run as a Republican and got his ass waxed. That's funny because the KKK..Klan were all Democrats. In fact, Robert KKK Byrd was demoscat Speaker of the House several times and a pillar in demoscat circles.

But, if you're determined to connect dots, then by all means, let's connect this one. It was demoscats in Congress who were singing from the terrorist hymn-book, trying to throw the war in Iraq, GET OUT OF IRAQ, GET OUT OF IRAQ, GET OUT OF IRAQ...mouthing terrorist propaganda, trying to cut off funds for things like food for our troops, water for our troops, bullets for our troops. You know, non-essential things like that. That's why I call them demo-scats.

Based on their performance in the Congress of the United States, one could say with certainty demoscats are the party of al-Qaeda and most certainly al-Qaeda endorsed John Traitor Kerry for prez.

Now, would you like to continue connecting dots?

Yes he did Randall. Not only that but Holder hired other lawyers at the Justice Dept who represented terrorists at Gitmo.

i do so love how the SMALL GOVERNMENT folk are all for the humomgous structure built to protect us from each other...the homeland security bonanza that of course, costs NOTHING. and gives us so much protection in exchange for our "inalienable" rights.

David Duke...KKK tried to run as a Republican and got his ass waxed. That's funny because the KKK..Klan were all Democrats. In fact, Robert KKK Byrd was demoscat Speaker of the House several times and a pillar in demoscat circles.

flimsy reasoning and attempt to tar all democrats with one brush (yet again).

i have noticed your repeated references to the DEMOCRATIC KKK, jwhop, and i have heard the conservative pundits citing this as PROOF that it is the democrats who are the real racists.

FUNNY THING, the SOUTH IN GENERAL VOTED DEMOCRAT UNTIL the 60s when the civil rights bills came in and the KKK was majorly discredted and OUTLAWED.

ALL OF A SUDDEN southerners started voting republican, and now the good ole boys are almost exclusively republican and conservative...

so your continued (wishful) connection of the KKK with today's democrats is about as bogus as they come. and the move to the right of the republicans and left of the dems are very much a part of this switch by southerners in the 60s and since....

i always wondered, as a child, how the southern and northern dems even talked to each other, one was conservative, the other liberal (in general). that dichotomy is largely gone now.

and the KKK was a big reason the dems LOST their conservative elements, and the republicans gained them.

back in the lincoln days it was the republicans who were for abolition, unionism, etc...

TIMES CHANGE. HOW BOUT YOU?

did you look at the map, ami?

randall, maybe the people you know are primarily democrats, but according to ALL such maps i have seen, the republican party picked up a majority in the south in the later 60s.

perhaps that is swinging back, but conservative and confederate seem to have more and more in common.

and here is a new candidate for the republican party..this one from the north:

A white American woman who had a black baby claims she fell pregnant whilst watching a porn movie in 3D. According to reports, the childs father , who is white was serving in the military in Iraq when she became pregnant.

His wife Jennifer told him the child was conceived whilst watching a porn movie in 3D.
“I see it as suspicious. The films in 3-D are very real. With today’s technology, anything is possible “he said.

Jennifer claimed she went to watch a porn film with her friends in New York and doesn’t usually watch porn movies and that she went to watch it to experience the effects in 3D. Jennifer says the child looks like the black actor in the movie. “A month after watching the movie, I started feeling dizzy and the results were positive.” she said.

Jennifer admits her marriage could be in trouble. “Even though my husband believed in me, my marriage could be at risk. But he knows I’m faithful” she said.

not sure whether she or her brilliant husband is running..

I don't see many of the Southern states on that page--especially not Alabama or Georgia. It lists Florida and North Carolina as Democrat. It doesn't disprove my statement in the least. Living in the deep south, everyone knows if you are not on the Democrat ticket, it's an uphill battle--not impossible, but you will have a struggle on your hands. Although that page is talking about presidential elections, local and state elections are also to be included.

with all due respect, randall, are you colour blind? georgia is most definitely red on that map ghani posted...and alabama and several other southern states.

there are still a lot up for grabs, especially in the swing states...but the south is mostly red or pink.

What page? The one Ghani posted? It shows Alabama and Georgia as strong Republican. It lists North Carolina as Republican-leaning, and Florida as a toss-up. Virginia is the only other toss up, and there's not a single strongly Democratic state in the traditional South.
